  1. I was hoping that the early openings would not work out for retailers. I wish they would just go back to opening at 4 or 5am on FRIDAY. I didn't go out Thurs. but Fri. morning at 5am there was NOBODY shopping. My son works at 5Below and went in for opening at 5am and was sent home because nobody was shopping. But I just read an article that said sales this weekend are expected to be/on track to be 2% higher than BF weekend last year so I guess they will keep doing it this way
  2. Good question- I can't BF Friday shop on Thursday so this year I am sitting here at 5am on BF wondering if I should even bother going out. I was looking at Fri. morning doorbusters and I see nothing of interest. All the amazing deals were yesterday.
  3. Indoctrinating my kids and nieces and nephews into the BlackFriday subculture as they reach the age of reason for BF (approx age 15)
  4. last year walmart had samsung galaxy prevail (boost) less than half price. i am hoping this year they will have the galaxy ii for boost at a good price. i could use a decent desktop computer too.
  5. @Walmart I got 2 32" Emerson TVs- $188 each Samsung Galaxy Prevail Android- $69 Dual DVD player- $59 LG wifi Blu Ray- $89 SNL Board Game- $3.88 Gamestop- PS3 160 bundle w/2 games- $199 I DID NOT like the new midnight sale time. Walmart was disorganized and didn't seem to know how to unveil the products at midnight. What I did like- Walmart had plenty of everything. There were plenty of the TVs, Laptops, DVRs, etc... All of their hot items including the sub $200 laptops were plentiful.
  6. portable dvd player, dvd/blueray player, and 3ds I'm sure there will be deals on the dvd players but not very optimistic about the 3ds
  7. Looking at the entry for the Wii bundle at Walmart- In the ad it says that is only available at walmart.com, are you sure this is also available in store?
  8. Walmart- We got: 3G. 250G Harddrive HP laptoop: $298 iPod Touch w/$50 iTunes card: $195 (got 4 but needed 5) Nintendo DS $99 PJ pants and PJs Target: 2 screen DVD [player- $88 Memorex iPod player/charger/CD player $49 Nikon Cool Pix $88 Lady's sweaters $8.88 Pretty successful day- it was really disorganized at Walmart (even more than usual) but still worth it.
  9. This is the worst bf ad ever. I was coming on here just to say how weird the popcorn theme was- but it looks like a lot of you guys thought so too.
  10. I am so surprised that Target leads the poll. The last several years they have had no doorbusters and IMO decent but not mind-blowing offerings. It is usually my last stop of the day on BF as there isn't a time crunch involved.
  11. ditto- then I came here to report- but of course I was 3 hours late! This REALLY takes a load off. I can skip BB on BF and now I am freed up for WM and Circuit City!!! Happy happy happy am I!!!!
  12. Hi- My DH wants a GPS (maps & directions gadget) I know NOTHING about these things. He says he does not really care about voice activated but he would rather not have to pay a monthly fee. What is the best BF deal out there for a low end (under $200) GPS gadget??? Thanks in advance for any help I receive on this. I am really clueless about these things:confused:
