  1. A friend whose husband is a department manager at our local Walmart said Wednesday...so fingers crossed that I will see it in the morning on here
  2. I was able to get swapforce for the PS3 from my closest Walmart about 945 after getting my daughter on the bus, but they were out of disney infinity...ran to another Walmart after my daughters funrun fundraiser and grabbed the last disney infinity for the xbox360... Would have preferred PS3 since the kids are more familiar with the controller but oh well. My son has been asking for it for months and daddy keeps saying no...half price makes it a go
  3. I haven't heard what time they are opening but I know the local mall is opening at midnight...I need more bras too so it's perfect timing...
  4. This is a card that came in the mail when I got a coupon for free hip hungers and $10 off a bra. The back says its comparable value is $99 and it includes beauty must haves

  6. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and all of our gifts were wrapped growing up, unless they were too big to wrap. I've continued with the tradition with my kids. Nothing in the stocking is wrapped, and any big gifts (this year a train table for DD4 and the little Honda ATV for DS1 cuz DH is a honda guy) aren't wrapped. Santa gets his own paper though. In previous years it's always been something cutesy and girly, and Santa was always kind enough to leave the leftover for mommy to use the next year. This year, DD4's will be girly and cutesy, but DS1 will be gender neutral paper because I didn't think to pick up any boy paper last year after Christmas (I was under the impression that the 20+ rolls I have would be enough..not thinking that it was almost all girly!) Now, usually there's only one or two gifts for each that aren't from Santa. We've asked family to not send Christmas gifts because we want to use christmas as a time where are kids GIVE gifts to people they love rather than them thinking about the gifts they will recieve. The few family members that still do send gifts know that we hold everything until their birthday. And some send us giftcards because they budget for two gift giving periods a year and don't want to accidently forget two of the grandkids at Christmas time...so they know we use it to buy extra birthday stuff for the kids or to buy new clothes when it's needed.
  7. DD4's list has changed slightly every time we've seen Santa this year (we see him multiple times a year because I'm good friends with the people at the set...worked there for two years myself before I had DS1) Last year DD4 (3 at the time) through us for a MAJOR loop though. We had put off pictures with Santa because I was 9 months pregnant and really didn't want to do it twice if the lil guy was born before Christmas. We were so good last year, had everything DD wanted, and then Christmas eve we take DD and DS (who was only 4 days old at the time) to see Santa and DD asks for a TRAIN! That was the first we'd heard about her wanting a train, and DH and I looked at each other like 'oh no, what do we do?' There was NO WAY I was going to try to go shopping on Christmas Eve for a big gift like that, especially since we had both kids with us and nowhere to hide it. So this year, what's the first thing DD asks Santa for? A train. We figured since DS will be able to get a few years out of it when she's done with it, it's worth the expense. Since then, she has added a barbie to the list (which Santa actually gave her at a Christmas party!) and she asked him if he'd bring her more pjs and a new toothbrush (Santa always brings PJs and a toothbrush in our house...as well as new toothpaste and socks) Of course, two days ago, DD tells Santa she wants a RAT (as in zhu zhu hamster). I bought one for a friend because she couldn't find them and I happened to run across one and DD saw it. And, even though she has now added it to her list, I still gave it to my friend because I'd told her I would. Of course, I'm sure it would keep DD4, DS1, and the dog entertained for hours!
  8. I didn't get one, but I saw that at the Walmart I shopped at. I only remember because they were on top of the pallet that had the guitars in it and everybody kept asking if we knew where the guitars were. I used it as my landmark for other customers. Of course, the walmart I went had employees that were letting you grab what you wanted before 5 (with an exception of the big ticket items of course) but you couldn't ring out until 5.
  9. Wow elena sounds like my TRU this morning! Except, we didn't have any actual fights break out, but management was worried it would happen so they called the cops to prevent it. We were in and out of the line from 930 til 1130 (we were going back and forth to my friends house making cocoa for the 10 people we were with and then also for the four or five right behind us) and at 1130 it was getting bad! Our line went across the front of the store, down the side, then headed towards the street (fortunately it was a dead end), crossed the street and was halfway to the mall! We were still more than 100 people back (my guess would have been close to 125 in front of us) and we were still able to get the zhu zhu tickets. TRU didn't open their doors until about 1215, but we were in our car on the way to walmart by 1am anyways (with EVERYTHING we wanted!!!)
  10. This morning was CRAZY. A friend of mine took her daughter and a bunch of her daughter's friends to TRU last night (I think they were all juniors in high school, with a few that may have been in their early 20s). Friend and I kept leaving and coming back with hot chocolate and snacks and we shared with the people around us so they were find with us coming and going. Line was crazy long by 1130 and people were starting to call the store to complain to the managers that other people were attempting to jump in line at the front. Management came out and handle out tickets for things, police showed up about 1145 and the TRU management made an announcement that they wouldn't open until it was orderly outside. Took the police nearly 30 minutes to get everyone out of the parking lot that was near the front of the store. Sadly, I was only there for three items but I was able to get all three (Fisher Price medical set for DD4, the Mega Bloks Smart Piano for DS1 and one for a birthday gift too). Managed to get a zhu zhu figuring DD4 would probably love it (or it would freak her out and I'd love her reaction LOL). Was in the parking lot headed to Walmart by 1. Got to Walmart about 130, I saw three or four people pass me speeding and get pulled over so i stayed right at the speed limit. At Walmart we started walking around to see where everything was when we found the digital photo frames and and employee was telling other people to go ahead and grab one, so I did too. Saw where the PJs were and then headed to the toy department. Managed to find where most of the toys were when an employee came over to ask if he could help us (like 2 or 230am) and we said we were just waiting til 5 to get everything. He said to go ahead and get whatever we can without opening the pallets so my friend loaded up her cart with toys (she has 5 kids all under 10) and I grabbed the Leapster Laugh and Learn Table or whatever it is. Managed to get the container of Mega Bloks even though it was still covered in cardboard (my friend saw it in someone else's cart and told the empoyee that if that person could have it already then so would she and the employee just moved out of her way!) I also got 3 sets of girl's pjs, 2 girls hoodies, 4 sets of infant pjs, Madagascar 2, and then a Leapster game and the new Tinkerbell movie to price match the Target ad. After I picked up all the black friday sales stuff, it was only about 4 and so I went over to the food section and grabbed a few 12 packs of soda and a case of water for DS1's birthday party in a few weeks (slowly picking stuff up so it's not as much of a shock to our wallet when it comes to the last minute) Was in line at the register at 450 and in my car by 505! Headed to Target and was in the store by 520. Still had the one movie Walmart didn't have (Sex And the City..for my FIL) and the Cars Shake and Go cars (for DS1 and DD4). Store was out of the crockpots (for MIL because she was watching DD4 for us this morning!). Cash register line was crazy because they had THREE of them, but people were nice and the line was moving pretty quickly. The only thing that I didn't get was the Cricut, but that was mainly because DH and I had discussed it earlier in the week and decided against it right now but that maybe in a few months once things are settled with an insurance claim
  11. It says "Be the one of the first 100 guests...to get the hottest toy of the year on Nov 26 at midnight. In-store only. One per household" Sounds like TRU will have 100 zhu zhu, not that they will be giving them away to the first 100 people in line. Definately not something that's on my list anyways...
  12. emilygracesmom~they remodeled our store this summer too! I honestly like the new look with the aisles being clear and uncluttered. I know at my local walmart, I saw them restocking a bunch of pjs that were priced at 5.00 and looked like they might be the 3.00 ones, they had taken a section in the kids department and used the shelves on the wall for them. I haven't been in a few days but I'm hoping my store will have things in logical places unlike last year. Last year they had the PJs in MULTIPLE places throughout the store, almost like they were trying to find a place for them and just dropped them wherever (I'm talking full pallets in multiple places so not like customers just moved them) So stores that have had the new remodel may have more logical places since the article I read a while back about the remodel mentioned part of it was nothing in the aisle ways because they are trying to make it more consumer friendly. Looks like I'll be running over there after taking DD4 to preschool this morning
  13. I wasn't able to pull it up with the link posted, just took me to my facebook home page...but when I searched in the facebook search box for toys r us it came up. Nothing I'm really impressed with. Free crayons and play food are the only things I see that even have a small spark of interest
  14. It was in mine as well. Also got the Dollar General Thanksgiving Day Ad today. Honestly though, it makes sense as to why GottaDeal was originally given permission to post it tomorrow, considering it wouldn't be released earlier then they had released it.
  15. thanksgiving day...we subscribe to Sunday only but still get the Thanksgiving and Christmas papers. Walmart's ad was in today's paper though...and I saw the Thanksgiving Day ad for Dollar General in today's paper as well.
  16. I hope my kids never want Legos...although I'm sure they will. This year I'm hoping to get the Mega Bloks for DS1 and DD4 to both play with since Legos are too small. but, to give everyone a good laugh, I'll tell you why I hope my kids don't ever want Legos (and hence why my four year old doesn't even have the Mega Bloks at this time). When I was two, I was following my older brother who was climbing around on the dressers in our room. Apparently, being the second child, I got a lot of handme downs (and I can't do the same since I had my kids in the wrong order...DH would probably kill me for trying to put DS into DD's old clothes) and my pant leg was frayed. My pant leg got stuck and I fell head first onto a lego. My mom said she heard a thud and then a long pause before the blood curdling scream. She ran in, pulled the lego out and then immediately put it back in when she saw the blood squirting. I got my first stitches because of a lego and have a nice scar on one of my eyebrows. DH thinks it's the funniest story ever and won't let me live it down. Says every year Santa's going to bring the kids legos but I luck out since I'm the one that does all the holiday shopping. As for Lincoln Logs, DD4 has a set and LOVES them. I know both Target and Walmart carry them...and we recently saw a HUGE package of them (like $50) somewhere...I think maybe at Disney World. I remember thinking the price was high until I actually saw how big the packages were.
  17. From my experience (and reading the fine print at the stores I've shopped at that do that periodically) they will subtract the amount of the gift card from the amount refunded. Just like if you buy something that's buy one get one free and return one of the items, you'll only recieve a refund for half the amount paid.
  18. I've noticed online that quite a few toys meant for babies and toddlers have the choking hazard warning advising that it's not good for those under 3. I'm not too sure why, but in my case we ignore that since I have a DS1 and DD4, so DS encounters toys that are a choking hazard pretty frequently. I have to be watchful since big sis likes to leave her toys laying around at times.
  19. As the wife of a car salesman, I can tell you that car dealerships don't do 'black friday' specials. As the article states, each deal is negotiated on a deal by deal basis. So, what you think is a GREAT deal, somebody else may feel is only an OK deal and therefore negotiate a lower price then you would. Now, with that said, let me tell you another insider tip. CONTACT THE DEALER ONLINE. I know the dealers in our area all give the lowest price quote they can to people who email for quotes. WHY? Because if you are taking the time to email one dealership, they are going to assume that you are doing your research online and emailing multiple dealerships to find who will give you the best price before going in for a test drive. So, they know that they have to give you a quote for the lowest price possible just to get you into their dealership for a test drive. Just have the courtesy to go in and see the salesman that contacts you with a quote, because they have already helped you and if you see another salesperson then the initial one doesn't get anything for it.
  20. I don't think I've had any bf deals that I regret buying...but honestly, DH and I were talking about all the stuff that we really wanted and have but never use. Things like a kitchenmaid stand mixer, deep fryer, bread maker, etc. All things we recieved as gifts for our wedding over 2 years ago that we've never used (well, we used the bread machine for a few months but then had to get it off the counter and haven't pulled it out since) Me, I'd LOVE a cricut this year and even DH saw it in the ad and was drooling (okay, we used to do vinyl signs when we were in high school for the school...and so that was the first thing that popped into his mind) but honestly, we more than likely won't be getting one because I don't think we'd use it as much as I'd like to say we would. Although, would be nice for school projects as our kids get older...*maybe* it will make it's way back onto our shopping list
  21. It really depends on what you are getting, whether or not they are doobusters, and what's most important to get. My plans so far are: TRU/BRU Sears JCP Walmart Target and then possibly the Walmart on the way home (if I can't get everything I want at the first one...the one closer to my house still had everything I wanted last year two days later!) I'm looking at what's most important and location of stores, as well as doorbuster hours. TRU/BRU doesn't actually have any doorbusters that I want but they are just north of the mall and open earliest, figure I'll go there first and get them out of the way. Sears is more important than JCP because it has stuff we want for the house and for DS1, while JCP only has a few things we want for DD4 (but we could live without them). Target is actually more important to me then Walmart, but the Target closer to my home always has more stuff because they are farther from the mall (again, I was able to get the double portable dvd player they had last year on Saturday at that location!) Plus, we are going to Target tomorrow to pick up a train table and train set from the big toy book and might pick up what I want and then pricematch on Friday since that store has already said they will still be price matching on BF. If the first Walmart doesn't have everything I want, then I'll hit the one closer to my home because it'll be on my way...and I'm really familiar with their layout so I'm planning on price matching a few things there.
  22. It's hard to say, they could do something similar to how Walmart is doing their doorbusters where you can't get the item until 5am when the sale starts. I would think that would be the way to do it because of programming in their computer system to ensure they aren't selling the item at the doorbuster price before 5am if it's a 5am doorbuster.
  23. Well, the article does say "Toysrus.com will also preview more than 100 "Mystery Deals" beginning Wednesday, November 25 at 12:01am. In addition to the 120 advertised Black Friday doorbusters, these secret savings offers will be available in Toys"R"Us stores from midnight until 1pm on Black Friday, but customers can only find out about them by visiting Toysrus.com in advance!" so I would think that there will be other doorbusters not in their ad, who knows whether or not they will be big doorbusters or not but it's definately a possibility. Looks like I'll have to check out the website on Wednesday to find out if there's a reason for me to hit TRU/BRU this year.
  24. I'm a little hesitant on them because of the brand. A good friend used them on her son and he ended up with a HORRIBLE rash that took MONTHS to go away. Personally, I've had problems with scented diapers so I'm leary to try new brands or buy more than one pack at a time. Honestly, the last pack we bought was a box of Walmart brand diapers and they have been working just fine for us. Now, last year I was 8 months pregnant on black friday and considered going to my local toys r us/babies r us but when I got there and saw how crowded it was I decided against it (it wasn't my first stop so it was later in the day but still during doorbuster hours). If there hadn't been other stores in the area that I wanted to go to, I wouldn't have gone to TRU/BRU.
  25. I looked online as well to see the regular price, but I've been shopping at both my local walmarts in the last few days and they BOTH actually carry it, as well as the CREATE version and the one that Michael's/Joann's has on sale. Not sure why it says they aren't available in store since both stores had places on the shelves for them and they looked like they were carried year round. Might be that not all Walmarts carry them or that very few carry them. I'd assume if it was just for Black Friday that I wouldn't have found them already out and in the middle of the scrapbooking stuff.
