I'm planning on buying some cheap drinks in Guatemala. I'll sic the fam on one of the off brand 50" tv deals at Walmart or Target... but doubt they have a chance. The drinks I'm pretty sure I'll get. Otherwise don't feel like I'm missing much.

The majors haven't posted yet, but I thought we'd all learned by now that the deals are never as good as the year before. And last year's were nothing to write home about.

I liked the 5 AM openings better. It was like adult Christmas. You'd stay up all night and go get your goodies in the morning. The staggered opening times of the last couple of years have created some weirdness and we're likely to see more of that as they all move earlier. But, honestly, (I know I'll take heat on this one) I don't understand why Thanksgiving is so sacred. It's a harvest festival we celebrate by sitting down to our families and gorging ourselves. Heck, for most families this comes more than once a year. And, who doesn't have more than one Thanksgiving? In-laws? Divorced parents? It's OK to do it on Saturday; I'm willing to bet a lot of people already do. But let's all remember it's not a religious holiday. Family holiday, yes, but hopefully family's around more than once a year.

Who wants to bet that eventually BF will be before Thanksgiving?

Good deal on a 50" Led - can wait if deal not sweet enough Roku Good laptop at a good price would certainly tempt me but would only consider if no television on radar

I'm hoping the ads are earlier than usual.... This is the first Black Friday since... 2002? I'm missing. I'll be on vacation from the 19th on and am hoping a trusted family member with a credit card can pick up 1-2 big ticket items for me while I'm gone. Especially looking for a television this year from a retailer with a friendly website (read: not BB or Wally World); we veterans know better. Sears usually releases early but I have no idea what time they're opening this year.

I'm great at grabbing what I want but Amazon hasn't really tempted me yet. Most of these sales... I just keep wondering who wants this junk.

Ignore the coming soon, click on the item for more detail, wait while it loads, and magically the add to cart appears.... unless it says in stores only. Then punch the wall.

If you want it, I'd get it sooner rather than later.

Finally figured out. Got everything I wanted. It really is obnoxious that they listed in store only items as coming soon though.

Glad I'm not alone. I'm about to start tapping my computer and calling it computer.
