  1. I hit that limit last night too! I did not know there was one. It is not done by the cashier, it is automatic. The cashier said she had never seen that either. But the manager over rode it, and the last 2 went through fine. They were laughing at me. You can still use your $13 in RR. I don't have one in front of me, so I'm not sure what the expiration is, but it will be a while. You should be good to go back today or tomorrow and spend those. I came across 2 interesting things. The Venus razors triggered a $4 coupon to print at the register. So they paid me a dollar for them. Also, the last thing I bought was 6 packs of Cottonelle. That triggered a $3 RR. I'm not sure what the trigger amount was of those. There was only one other person there shopping when I got there, and she had a pretty small order. I felt bad though, it was her first time, and she didn't know to split the orders, so everything and to be returned and redone. After that, I was the only one there. I was there for about 1 hr 45 minutes. The cashier and manager were awesome and patient. I have both their names for the survey.
  2. I made this chart to help me figure out the deals. Best Buy $100/$80 20% Office Depot 15% 15% Office Max $10 off/$50 20% Sams $100/$79.88 20% Target $60/$50 17% TRU $10 off/$50 20% Walgreens Buy 2 $25 cards Get $15 GC 30% The last column is the % discount. Walgreens has the highest.
  3. The cheapest place would probably be to check eBay. I don't think I've seen any of the keyboard covers on sale anywhere.
  4. Yay, got mine in! Keep in mind, the time on the tracker is done by Brad as a Courtesy, based on a best guess. It is not controlled by Best Buy at all. I'm not even sure it states in their ad what time it will start, it just says you can shop Thanksgiving Day. So please don't give Brad a hard time, he works hard for us here.
  5. We have this keyboard, and it is awesome http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-U6R-00001-Wedge-Mobile-Keyboard/dp/B008OEHPKM/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1385602835&sr=1-1&keywords=wedge+keyboard Bonus is that the cover for the keyboard doubles as a stand for the tablet.
  6. Well, it looks like no tablet buying for me. Daughter has said she does not want one, would not use it. So sad, I was so excited for all the deals available this year! Oh well. Just now have to figure out what to buy her instead!
  7. No. Apparently paychecks aren't credited until 3am, and the sale was over. But that's okay, I've always been able to get those flash drives on Wednesday night, and at least 3 places will have the PS3, so I'm not worried. Just sad I finally qualified for the preview and couldn't do it!
  8. I can speak highly of the Lenovo. But it's got an Atom processor, so it's a tad bit slower than the Surface Pro. The Surfaces that are on sale are last year's RTs. Those are lower powered than the full win 8 tablets. Heavy websites are pretty slow. But for plain Office stuff, it should work well. remember, if you buy a non-RT, you will have to also purchase Office.
  9. Yep, know what you mean. There don't seem to be a lot of posts on Surface or Windows 8 tablets here, not many fans. So I try to post them as I come across them and answer questions as I can. Good luck, hope you can still find one! I'm going to probably try the eBay deal, that's the next best one.
  10. So, I never got an email, but I had a banner at the top when I logged in telling me I qualified. Yay! Unfortunately I don't get paid until tomorrow (well after midnight tonight). Boo. But, I have everything in my cart, and also open in separate tabs, and my husband is going to stay up and order them tonight. Yay! At the rate I'm going, I'll have all my shopping done before BF. Then what will I do Friday?? I guess go to Walgreens for more free stuff...
  11. Boo, hope you can get one! My husband nonchalantly mentioned this deal to me a bit ago, he read it on one of his techie sites earlier today. I was like WHY didn't you tell me this earlier?! I need to let everyone on GD know! He said he'd be sure to tell me things sooner next time...
  12. Microcenter has the surface with keyboard for $179, in store only. Not sure what the dates are, but it is supposedly live now. No stores here.
  13. Great price! I have the Lenovo Thinkpad 2, which is the business line, and it's great.
  14. FYI, Microsoft Store will also have them $199 Black Friday, no keyboard, so same as Best Buy. But still nice to know all the back-up places!
  15. They both click in. But they do not have an extra battery like the Asus do.
  16. There are 2 kind of keyboard covers: the touch and type. These are the ones that "click" into the surface. The type has mechanical keys, while the touch is just, well, touch. The blue one you linked to is touch, we have 3 of those. Husband would like type for his, but he ended up getting bluetooth wedge keyboard instead. Which was good decision, as he uses it for his work tablet as well. He also has the wedge mouse. Those make a nice setup on his desk. Microsoft Wedge Mobile Keyboard Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse Here are the keyboard covers from the MS store. Type Cover 2 The next-generation classic click-in keyboard for Surface now comes in four colors and is backlit to keep you working when the lights go down. $129.99 Surface Touch CoverDesigned for Surface, the Touch Cover is a revolutionary dual-purpose pressure-response keyboard and protective cover.$79.99 I just looked on eBay for cases, they have a lot more than they did a year ago! And they are much cheaper (of course) than MS store. That's a really nice case you linked to. Nice that it is keyboard and case in one. When looking at cases like that, make sure it has a cut out on all 4 sides to swipe in the from the sides, and up and down. This one does, so that's good. The one I have does not, and it's a pain.
  17. It does come with Office Student. Nice thing is that it updates when a new version comes out. My boys have really enjoyed theirs. My oldest (17) is currently writing a novel with his. (November is national novel month) My youngest (14) takes his to school every day. Oldest took an online college class last year, and it worked with that (he didn't use it, because he needed laptop for another class, but it worked). If they are going to use it in the car, the type keyboard may be a little better. The touch cover works better on a harder surface. As a side note, we have these cases and they have been great. I like it has a pocket in the front for the charger. And assorted school papers crammed in. http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Incipio-Padded-Nylon-Sleeve-for-Microsoft-Surface/productID.255932000 I wish I could get my daughter a pro tablet, either Surface or Lenovo Thinkpad2 or a 2-in-1 thing. But her house was broken into a month ago, and her laptop was stolen, so we just replaced that. Couldn't get the combo then, wish we could have waited and combined the two... Oh well. This will work for her well, to just hang out and internet, I think she'll like it.
  18. I don't know, I was wondering as well. Brad posted under the eBay thread he thinks the deals will be spaced out during the day. I have a reminder on my phone for midnight. eBay is PST, so I guess it probably wouldn't be until 3am. I'm hoping they will last for a little bit. I think I have final decided to get this for my daughter. Was debating between Surface and Galaxy Tab 3. I think she would use Surface more, maybe. I use my Windows tablet way more than I did/do my Galaxy And this deal is so good. I would be fine with black cover, but I thought the pink would be fun for her. We'll see what the best deal is! Let's keep each other notified!
  19. It is the latest version of the Android OS.
  20. I did well, my store had a table set up with many of the deals. I was a little perturbed, the cashier got stressed after a bit and I hurried through and combined a transaction I didn't intend too, and ended up paying $9 on one transaction, then having $8 ECB left at the end. Oh well, that gives me something to start with on Thursday. I got there about 15 minutes after opening this AM, and glad I got there that early, I got the last item on 2 things. There were 2-3 others there getting ECB items.
  21. Brad posted in the eBay Black Friday thread last night that eBay will have the Surface for $169 on Thursday. Best Buy is $199, and Staples is $249 with keyboard. I found several keyboards on eBay (want pink) for $40-50, so that will come out cheaper than Staples. http://forums.gottadeal.com/topic/205114-ebay-deals-black-friday-sale/
  22. She was referencing the Surface in the Best Buy ad. It isn't a doorbuster or ticketed item, so she should be good to get a couple.
  23. So how did it go? I'm about to head out soon, yay! Let the shopping begin!
