  1. thank you racerfan, your post was very helpful. :)
  2. Our walmart does a fantastic job on black friday. I've gone to other Walmarts in other towns a couple of years when my walmart had said they wouldn't pricematch because we were too far away from the competitors ads, and realized real quick how differently other walmarts handle black friday. Our store is neat, organized, fair and well just plain friendly. Last year they brought back the pricematching and we stayed home to shop and I remembered how well they did. I'm really not sure if we will ever travel for black friday again - it will just depend on the ads. We may just stay home and price match what we can at Walmart. Since our local store does such a great job I'm hard pressed to spend my money elsewhere....
  3. good post - this is what I'm looking for as welll. We have had plenty of game systems in our house, but I'm still clueless on the wii. I have a 9 year old that is ready for one I think...
  4. Kohl's 2008. The shopping was great, but the mob getting into the store was downright dangerous. I was right in the middle of some seriously peeved off people and can honestly say I was scared. It made me understand the Wal-mart trampling. In 2009 I made sure to stay at the back of the line. I love bf deals and the bf excitement, but I never want to be trapped in the middle of a mob like that again.
  5. I'm completely done with the extended family/friends. I still need to shop for the majority of the kids/dh though.
  6. Bribing dh to get up early with sausage buffet breakfast
  7. I've never had any trouble pricematching anything at Wal-mart. I've gotten some really great deals. I just make sure to follow thier rules, no bogo, no % off etc. A couple of times a manager had to come over, but even then things worked smoothly.
  8. I'm finally going to buy my youngest a wii along with games and accessories. The oldest will probably be getting a car soon so i will be getting him stuff for his first car. All my extended family is already taken care of so my biggest problem will be figuring out what to get for my dh. He never wants anything and I swear that makes him the hardest person to shop for.
  9. This year all I have to buy are for my kids and dh. I've already made or put aside presents for my extended family/friends. I'm expecting a really affordable Christmas this year. I still can't pass Black friday by though.
  10. Really? 9 is too old? I just bought my very conservative straightlaced husband a Kung Zhu Pet for his 30th birthday. lol If my 9 year old wanted one I'd probably get him one. They're really an inexpensive toy.
  11. LOL - I was thinking the exact opposite. This year NOTHING has excited me. I've actually talked about not going bf this year. Walmart's ad just changed my mind. I'm definitely heading out now.
  12. Does Lego Rockband for DS need anything special for the ds in order to play it? I ask because I know the guitar hero for ds has a special attachment but I haven't seen anything special for DS for rockband. DS2 told us today he really really really wants Lego Rockband for his ds. I want to make sure if I buy it he can actually play it.
  13. I know that the Walmart in my town is hiring police officers to watch the doors.
  14. Well I for one am a little bummed about the ad. I love kohl's and I was planning on making it my first stop again this year. I don't know if I just need less stuff this year or what, but there's nothing in the ad that makes me think I need to get up early and wait for. Unfortunately that's what I've thought about all the ads though.....here's hoping Target and or Walmart pulls something spectacular out.
  15. rofl I don't think you were supposed to give your true opinion. Hugs and snuggles only.
  16. Significantly less. Although income is technically higher this year my prioriities have switched a bit and I'm not as interested in filling the tree as I am finding a way to be able to afford to quit my job.
  17. I've never had any luck at TRU. If it were my first stop maybe.... but since the earliest I've ever been there was 7 am the lines are always unmanageable.
  18. I wish I knew. I can't think of anything big or small that my kids need or want. I'd like to pick up a netbook for my mom, but my dh has about every tool on the planet. I will as usual be taking advantage of the numerous dvd and pajama deals but other than that I'm clueles, and that's just not usual.
  19. That would be wonderful. I would definitely buy one for my mom.
  20. This was a great deal! I picked up four pair of shorts and two band shirts for my soon to be 14 year old. I paid less than $65 shipped!
  21. I bought 8 of them and am VERY pleased with them. They each come in a box, perfect for giftgiving. I've honestly thought about buying more I like them so much and they are such a great deal. Now I say this, but I haven't attempted to put any pictures on them. I'm just planning on gifting them to teachers so I'm not sure what a pain in the butt they might be to load. But they definitely look nice.
  22. Hey - I'm glad you posted this, because I looked at it a little closer and it says your choice of 4 for $14.88. So that's actually a better deal. I should have read that a little closer! THey come to 3.72 a piece! Thanks! Those will make great teacher gifts next year!
  23. I'm seeing $14.88. $6 would be a great price - I would definitely stock up for $6. $14.88 notsomuch. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10800213
  24. I was going to buy one, but they were so butt ugly I couldn't bring myself to put one in the cart.
