  1. Picked up one pair of Beats at Amazon.com this morning for the youngest kid for $99. I could have waited and price matched at Walmart on Thanksgiving, but think it's probably worth having one in my hand. That way if I decide I don't want to go out shopping on Black Friday I don't have to. Best Buy is selling them online right now as well.
  2. I can't believe I almost missed out on this! Thank you so much! Very excited to win!
  3. I will say my Walmart does a fantastic job of handling black Friday. I had never experienced the wild walmart black Friday until I wen out of town and realized "WHOA! All Walmarts are not like mine!"
  4. Yep - and sales tax. Hmmm... hadn't thought of that. The few times I've had to return items to Amazon the customer service made it so simple it wasn't a problem. But waiting for the return item to come back was sort of a bummer.
  5. I'm truly hoping I will be able to get most of my items on my must have list from Amazon and skip the 6:00 rush completely. I'm really not excited by these earlier times and if I can scratch the big items off my list it will be much nicer to sit by the fire at home drinking a glass of wine.
  6. I feel stupid asking this - but can I price match the Best Buy price at Walmart even though they have a sale going on for them? I live an hour away from Best Buy, in years past my Walmart price matched but now I'm concerned. I still don't fully understand the Savings Catcher either. I'm wondering if I could use that if I couldn't price match.
  7. I sure hope so = I go a little insane every year this time as I start stalking the interwebz for bf ads. Just waiting on walmart and I can rest easy again.
  8. That would be fantastic! Now I'm looking to buy 2. One for both of my sons.
  9. I usually start shopping in the summer, picking up odds and ends as I see them. At this point I'd say I was pretty much done with everyone except my 2 boys. I'm 90% done with my adult son and I haven't even really started on my youngest. Most of what he wants/will get I will pick up on bf.
  10. Prices for Bras are great. I think I may have to stock up on bf.
  11. I'm pretty sure the Beats don't qualify for the 20% off. They are one of the excluded items, along with something else I'm looking for this season a fitbit. I hope I'm wrong....
  12. walmart target best buy toys r us. I will probably price match everything I can at walmart and see what I can get on lightning deals at amazon.
  13. The switchover has completely ruined our tradition. I cook Thanksgiving dinner and my family travels from out of town to eat. Once upon a time we would eat at 2:00 and the family would leave around 5:00 taking my boys with them. My husband and I would sit by the fire and pour over bf ads circling what we wanted, what we would price match etc and then go to bed super early. We were always tired early because hosting Thanksgiving wears us out! We'd get up early, come home and wrap everything before taking a nap and picking up the boys. I know we just need to develop a new tradition, but really now as soon as the family is out the door we basically head out and shop until we are exhausted and well, it's just not the same. Forget about wrapping anything before we go to sleep....it just lacks something it used to have. At some point there really won't be a reason for me to go out.
  14. My son is determined that he needs Beats for Christmas. The very idea of paying more than a $100 for headphones is crazy to me - but I'm willing to make that his big ticket item if I can find a good deal on them. I see Kohl's has them on sale, and with the kohls cash incentive I guess they are worth getting, but I'm hoping for deals like last year for $114. Any thoughts? Anyone else looking for this?
  15. The staggered times definitely makes for a longer day.
  16. Thanks for posting this - watermarks and all. The reason that gottadeal is my go-to site is because I know that regardless of where the ad breaks, I will be able to see it here without having to search everywhere for them. Truly grateful...
  17. Mostly online. Amazon makes it too easy to get everything from the comfort of home. There will be brick and mortar shopping, but in reality that will be more for the fun of it than any real need. Unless Amazon goes off the rails this year and doesn't follow it's trend of price matching the ads the week before black Friday.
  18. Yes, and it sure puts a damper on Thanksgiving. "Great seeing you guys, but you have to leave. Now. I know, I know, it's a once a year time when we all get together and all that jazz, but seriously we've got to go shopping."
  19. This is my 13th year. My first time I took my 3 month old baby with me. I had no idea what a bad plan that was until I was stuck in a cart jam with hundreds of coughing/touchy/gross people around my newborn. I learned quick and now consider myself a pro. I would also never in a million years bring a child to black Friday again.
  20. I have two tips - Make friends with people stuck in line with you and don't use a cart. I bring a large reusable shopping bag with me. I can always load it up and still make my way through the aisles or go off aisle to make it to the next big item or line.
  21. I camped out once and will never do it again. There were 2 items in the store and guess who was number 3. It was a miserable experience that at this point in my life is just not worth the cost savings. At the time I did it because we were very low income and the ONE thing my son wanted was out of my budget but it went on sale for BF. It was pretty much the only time I didn't get something I felt I "had" to have at Black Friday.
  22. I'll pay full price if it's something I want. I try to get things on sale, but when I see that special something I don't worry overly much if it's on sale or not. I'm somewhat past the point where I can just pick up things that are on sale. Many of the items we buy for Christmas are just not the type of items that will go on a black Friday sale like electronics/toys/etc.
  23. I would kill her. I shop with my husband. I really look forward to going shopping with him and kind of consider this "bonding" time. I would be so bored and lonely if I went without him. After we shop we come home and wrap everything and have it put under the tree and call our Christmas shopping DONE.
