  1. I just want to agree that sometimes you can get a price match on Amazon online. We've done this with great success. I think it was 2 years ago that we had our "black Friday" tv the day before thanksgiving because we purchased it through amazon at Walmart's price.
  2. The only time I was ever "hurt" at Black Friday was over a $10 Cabbage Patch Doll that wasn't even for my kid. At my Walmart at least they have the big ticket items pretty well under control. I agree it's the smaller items that people fight for. Don't even get me started on the craziness over cheap towels. <shudder>
  3. Yep - this year I'm hoping to get a new fitbit, maybe some new sheets, and some jewelry.
  4. Bummer - I was hoping to see a game system. While the pre-bf idea is awesome, it just doesn't cover anything at all I'm interested in.
  5. This is pretty much the only thing I "have" to pick up. So I'll go wherever I get the best deal on that for bf.
  6. Good! I know I won't be shopping at either one of them. Shame on them for making their employees work on that day!
  7. I need an ipod touch. Everything else is optional. I'm hoping to pick one up with a gift card.
  8. Towels are insane! People will beat you up for towels. It's bizarre to me because like you said, they aren't that great a quality. On the other hand, I think the Walmart ad this year is great and it has several things I had planned on purchasing and a couple of surprises that I hadn't but will. I think this is my favorite Walmart ad in a long time. At this point I think Walmart has all my Black Friday dollars.
  9. LOL! Don't count on it! But It would be great if that were the case!
  10. I don't think the ads are horrible. I do think that Wal-mart is dominating this year and of the ads currently posted I don't see a need to shop elsewhere. I don't even see anything I need to pricematch. Wal-mart will be getting the bulk of my black friday dollars this year however. I'm hoping the Amazon sales are as good this year as they were last year - that would make this season even better!
  11. I'm going to miss the Target Black Friday commercials. I've never gotten much from Target on bf though, it's always such a mess that I generally just price match their ad at Walmart.
  12. So will this play our old xbox games? The kids have a few football games that they want to keep - and I'm clueless about xbox.
  13. Yes - Mostly just extended family presents such as grandma's and nieces. I did pick up a very small gift for my husband the other day. This year I'm actually at a loss for what to get the kids so who knows when I'll get to start shopping for real this year.
  14. Yes! Picked up some goodies from shutterfly for the grandma's. Other than that no. Still debating what to get the kids this year.
  15. I can't believe I'm going to say this but I'm just not that excited about bf this year. Many of the things I'm interested in buying for Christmas won't be typical bf items and I'm just not interested in bringing home a bunch of stuff that just gathers dust. Aside from the usual movies/video games that we seem to get good use out of I can't imagine what we will need. We'll go out of course because it is our holiday tradition but I don't we will go on a marathon shopping spree like we usually do.
  16. I started looking through the ad and then realized that the sale started at 10 pm Thursday night and I didn't go much farther. I think this is becoming one of my biggest pet peeves and if the sales continue to get earlier and earlier I think I'll just bow out. I enjoy black friday on you guessed it Friday. Once you start rolling into Thursday then it starts eating into my family time. I don't mind going without a lot of sleep but I need to sleep sometime yk?
  17. Didn't realize that! So glad you posted this then! Thanks!
  18. You're going to walk from 9 pm to 5 am? Holy cow! I want the Band Hero as well but I'm not going until midnight, and that's just because I have stuff I'm getting at the midnight sale, otherwise I'd probably show up around 2:30. I did the laptop last year too. lol Sounds like we get similar items every year. :)
  19. Really? In my neck of the woods Walmart is the best of the best as far as bf is concerned. Way better than Target, and there is just nothing as bad as toys r us. I would never shop at toys r us on bf. I never get the important things on my list and the couple of times I've gone it hasn't been worth the several hours wait in line. Much easier to price match at Walmart.
  20. You know, this might be the year to take some of those reusable shopping bags along. Obviously it won't work for the big things - but it would sure help if all you have are dvd's and game type things. I have a couple of walmart bags I think I will take them with me to at least walmart this year. I hate getting stuck in cart gridlock.
  21. It would depend on your store. My local store I can reliably get just about everything on my list. One year I went to another walmart thinking it would be basically the same, and it was a madhouse. So yeah, I could see both happening as well.
