  1. I went to 2 and didn't find any either. I asked someone and they said there were none out. Some people were picking up the non promo ones by the registers and were going to demand the store honors the sale price.
  2. I am pretty sure. Still hoping I'm wrong though cause now I want that one too, lol.
  3. That was up earlier today at $25. I decided to purchase Dishonored instead but Borderlands 2 was also available at the $25 price then.
  4. This was the first year that I didn't get a Thanksgiving paper delivered to my house. I will admit that I canceled my newspaper subscription quite a few months ago but my carrier still was delivering the paper to me this entire time - I'm talking probably over a year now. When I saw I didn't have a paper I got my 12 year old up (it was 7 am by now) and had him go to the 7-11 up the street and buy me the biggest one they had, lol.
  5. There are 3 people in line at the Walmart in Shawnee KS for the 60'' Vizio TV. The store hadn't set up the line yet - had to when the people showed up.
  6. It is 8 pm and 10 pm here in KC area - per employee email
  7. I have a whole list, lol. I don't usually buy myself big stuff (or too much little either for that matter) so I write everything down for my dh to pick from for Christmas, birthday and anniversary, etc. The main thing I want is the new 3G Kindle with the back light. I have the Kindle2 and LOVE it but I really would like that light and it must have the 3G so I can get a book anytime I want!! I also would like new equipment for my home gym - an adjustable bench, a squat rack, some adjustable dumbells (really expensive so not holding breath). My husband already bought be a heavy bag and gloves last month which was also on my list. Then some cold gear for running outside - and since I am a school bus driver and spend a good portion of the day on a cold bus we aren't allowed to idle...
  8. Walmart is doing their sales as a 2 start time again. 8 pm and 10 pm on Thursday then again Friday morning with other items. DH just got an email last night.
  9. Our Garmin's have lifetime maps which I really like. I also prefer a US headquartered company - of course I am biased since my mom, dad and brother all work for the company....
  10. I did talk to my mom and she said he wouldn't care and encouraged me to get the v11 for him. She thought that would be more than sufficient for him and what he "might or might not" do with it. She knows he likes to talk about writing but she isn't totally convinced he will do it. I know she would like for him to try though and this will do the trick we think.
  11. I think either will work with his PC. His computer is pretty up to date and it seems the Dragon software has been updated pretty regularly - the v 11 and 12 both run on Windows 7 or XP. He is not super techy but does play a lot of pc games. I don't think it will be on sale on BF - at least I have never seen it go on sale. I was pretty impressed that Amazon had it for the $72 price tag for the newest version. Once I saw the previous version though I did like that price a lot better and it really does fit better in my budget and honestly I don't think he would care either way. I might ask my mom what she thinks too since she was the one who suggested it to me. Thanks for the opinions
  12. My mom said my dad was talking about how he could write a book but that he doesn't like to type. She suggested I get him the computer software Dragon Naturally Speaking for him for Christmas. I did some looking and I see that the software is $99 for the home version 12 which is a brand new version release. I went on Amazon and the cost is $72 right now for the v12. However, the v11 is only $25. I am really liking the $25 price tag since my budget is usually only $50 each for my parents. Would it seem cheap for me to buy the version 11 even though the version 12 is now out? Honestly the reviews are pretty mixed down the middle for people who like the software and people who don't. I understand there is a big training/learning curve to use it and it can be touchy and complicated. I see the version 12 is supposed to be 20% more accurate according to the Dragon spiel. I am just thinking I really don't want to spend $70+ on something that my dad may or may not end up liking and using. What would you do? Buy the newest version or buy the previous one at a substantial discount off of regular price? Thanks in advance for the help and opinions.
  13. Yes but it doesn't always work that way. I have had cashiers tell me straight out I need the ad - I always find it easier to just bring the ad along anyway, saves time from them having to find their copies (which they are supposed to have behind every register). Of course the one week I don't have the ad is the week I really need to PM something and of course I get grief for it, lol. I am just glad I had dh along or else it could have gotten ugly, especially when I am holding my print-out of Walmart policy from the Walmart coporate website and the CSM was still arguing with me.
  14. That was similar to my Target. They had some of the Betty Crocker cookie mix boxes back in the Christmas isles with the 70% off sign. I decided to walk around the store and see what else was on clearance and when I was on the grocery side I saw an endcap with more of the cookie mixes but they were only tagged 15% off. I had my son price check the one I picked up and sure enough it was only 15% off. What is funny is the Betty Crocker cake mix and frosting was actually 70% off. What is the difference?
  15. My kids LOVE the skylanders game for the Wii and I know they make it for 360 also. My kids are a little younger (12, 11, and 6) but I am really surprised and happy on how much they really enjoy this game.
  16. Today dh and I went to Walmart to price match the X-Box 12 month Live Gold card that Best Buy has on sale for $39.99. Since hubby works for Walmart we get the associate's discount on items so that made it the best deal for me. Unfortunately I didn't have my Best Buy ad for this week anymore - I didn't think I would need any ad's and let my mom keep them on Christmas I usually always bring in an ad to price match but I went ahead and printed out the policy from the Walmart website stating a customer doesn't need the ad and ventured out. Of course we get up to the register and the associate says she needs to get a Manager to approve the PM. The CSM comes over and immediately starts arguing that I need the ad. I pull out my printout (the acutaly PDF from their corporate site no less) and she still argues. She starts saying how they don't price match online prices - I told her it was in the Best Buy print ad and I would be happy to pull up the ad on my phone for her to look at. She is still arguing with me about needing the ad and I look up and their actual policy is on a card above the register stating the customer doesn't need the ad. She tries and says something about a number limit. What?? She then says she has to check something and walks away from us completely. During all of this my husband pulls out his work Blackberry and dials the store and asks for the store manager. He explains the situation to the assistant manager on the phone and the ASM comes over and he tells the cashier to do the PM. We waited and the ASM shows up before the CSM even made it back to us. My dh just tells the ASM "make sure you review the policy with ALL the employees". DUH. GRR. The cashier was very apologetic and said she didn't want to get in trouble for the PM and that's why she called the CSM. I have been warned by my dh that I can't use him as a bargaining chip because of the nature of his position, lol, so that's why he didn't just tell the cashier it was ok. I just told him I think that CSM will remember him in the future.
  17. The Kmart by us is safe. My dh was surprised, he thinks it is always dead because they don't have many cars in the lot. His point of view is schewed though if you ask me since he works for Walmart. Our Kmart is in an area that probably has a lot of walkers visiting also. I don't shop there often but I like having the option.
  18. Thanks noehlp - that is good to think of. The Best Buy isn't too terribly far (around 4 miles) from me but I do drive a gas guzzler - DH mentioned wanting to go over there to look at speakers tomorrow so I will see if he makes good on that threat.
  19. The card is still available but it is not the main one listed since it is not in stock - you have to look under other buying choices and it says it ships in 1-4 weeks. That won't work for those who need it ASAP like me, grr. Looks like a Best Buy trip is in store for me. Oh well I don't get the no tax deal that others get from Amazon since they have a warehouse in Kansas, lol.
  20. Thanks very much rsthayer for my SS gifts. I loved everything and my mug is a great size for my new Keurig my dh bought me. Thanks SuggaD for my beautiful Snowman ornament. It was beautiful and looks fabulous on my tree.
  21. The physical card on Amazon doesn't ship right away either - I just checked and it said 1-4 weeks.
  22. I was also searching for a DS game for my son. There were tons that were on sale - I was looking in the simulation/RPG section and found quite a few discounted 50% off or more - Too many for me to list.
