I'm no good at design, so I looked back at previous years' t-shirts (in this thread from last year: http://forums.gottadeal.com/topic/196310-black-friday-t-shirt-ideas-wanted/page-2?hl=t-shirt), and I really like the 2006 shirt. I think something similar to that would look good on a hoodie .

Yep, based on the news stories and such after the fact last year, the corporate suits all considered the new hours a success. Those of us that loved the traditional Black Friday shopping can file our experiences away in the "Remember When..." folder, and pull them out every year to share with our children and grandchildren who will never understand just how great it was. LOL

Record low temps for July in Oklahoma this week means it feels like fall, which means it feels like Black Friday should be right around the corner and ads should be coming out!

I bought a couple Christmas gifts last week, and it REALLY put me in the mood for Black Friday. Funny, you would think it would have put me in the mood for Christmas. Hmmmmm.

Reinholt1 - Your story brought tears to my eyes. God bless you and your parents. Merry Christmas!

It took us almost 4 hours, but my sister came to the office and helped and we got everything wrapped. Almost everything - my dil wants to wrap the grandbabies' stuff so I'll take it home to her. Don't know where she's going to hide it. I can leave it at the office till probably Friday. The problem is, in Oklahoma we don't get a LOT of ice and snow, so when we do we don't drive if we don't absolutely have to . Cause we stink at it. LOL. Add to that that I live outside the metro area, and they do NOTHING to our highway into our town, so getting to the interstate to get to the office is the most dangerous part. So, I'm afraid if the storm this weekend is as bad as they're predicting (which it usually isn't but this would be THAT time), I won't be able to get to the office Monday to load it all up. It would be the same if I left it at someone else's house, because we live in the boondocks.

I'm most excited for the awe that I know is going to be written all over my 2 year old grandson when he sees what Santa brought. As far as specific gifts, I'm most excited for the Sisters Knot necklaces I had done for my sisters.

I finished my shopping this weekend, but I have wrapped nothing. I hate wrapping and usually wait until the night before Christmas Eve. I've always shipped my boys off to their Gra-ma's house to spend the night that night. This year, my oldest son and his wife and their 2 children live with me, so that old plan doesn't really work anymore . Everything is in my office, because there is NOWHERE to hide anything at my house (we're a little full, lol). I was thinking I would come in next weekend and get everything wrapped and store it in the back of my car. Now they're saying we may get another round of winter weather move in Friday and Saturday, so that may be too big a gamble. I'll probably stay late at the office tonight and get everything wrapped, then load it in my car no later than Friday. I'm a little nervous about that because I'm afraid of someone breaking into the car, but with a little luck and a lotta prayer, hopefully they'll be safe.

I had not heard anything about it, so I searched online and found this... http://www.dailyfinance.com/2008/12/12/yet-another-walmart-sale-starts-sunday/ This is what is posted on Walmart.com: http://news.walmart.com/news-archive/2013/12/11/the-holiday-shopping-deals-continue-walmart-kicks-off-post-black-friday-savings-on-dec-13 -
http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k499/ts1852/image.jpeghttp://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k499/ts1852/image2.jpeg IT CAME! IT CAME! I'm so excited ! I received a beautiful B&BW gift set. The card said to take the time to pamper myself, and that's just what I'm gonna do. I see a long scented bubble bath in my near future!! Let me tell you a story. In June I had the opportunity to spend a week in Baltimore for a training class (I've only been out of Oklahoma a handful of times, so this was a big deal for me). My sister went with me, and while we were in that part of the country, we went and spent a weekend in Washington DC. Well, while in Baltimore we went to this park on Federal Hill and it smelled divine. I couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from, because there weren't any flowers to speak of. Then while in DC, we went to Arlington, and the same smell was there! I determined it was a tree. I came home and started googling "What is the tree that smells so good in Arlington National Cemetery?". The tree is a Japanese Cherry Tree. Guess what scent my new bath set from my Secret Santa is! YEP - Japanese Cherry Blossom. I tried to find my list to see if I had mentioned this scent, but we had a virus a couple months ago and it ate my archived emails, but I am almost sure I did NOT mention it. I don't think I would have because I didn't even know B&BW had this scent! Also got 3 B&BW scented candles: Mahogany Teakwood, Party Dress, and Frosted Cranberry. They all smell wonderful and I'm trying to decide which to burn right now . Thank you thank you thank you Secret Santa! You really made my day!!!

" />" /> I don't know if my pictures are working or not, I consider myself technically able but I can never figure out how to get a picture on here! ANYWAY... I received my ornaments today and I LOVE them! I received a Lenox reindeer and a Lenox snowman. I also got a stand for displaying one of them in my office. There was also a card with a Santa Claus button, AND, a bag of peanut clusters - YUM! Thank you so so much Candy

That's always been me too. I've posted more this year than in all the years before combined.

I'm in the camp that says Black Friday just isn't as fun anymore. We made the most of it. We got almost everything we were after, but the spirit wasn't the same. I did like the wristband thing at Walmart though. We weren't held captive in line for hours, so we could go get everything else we needed/wanted. I did a lot more online shopping this year than I normally do. Thanks to everyone at Gottadeal for the deals and advice, I saved a LOT of money.

LOTS of little kids! And they were so overstimulated and cranky, and of course their parents are getting on to them. I wanted to tell this one family "You know, the people staring at you aren't blaming the child!"

I really liked the wristband thing. I can't agree with the store not being packed though, lol. The Walmart we always go to is kind of out of the way and never too crowded. Tonight, people were parking across the street! We booked it to a small town 30 minutes south. It was very crowded as well, but we could at least get in the door. We got there about 6:30, got our wristband for the laptop, then shopped for a couple hours until we could go pick it up. We got there too late for just a couple things, but all in all I'd call it a success.

Totally off topic, but I just want to say that every time I read one of your posts I automatically read it in Keith Urban's voice. lol

http://www.today.com/money/black-friday-madness-its-not-always-about-deals-2D11650352 Someone tries to explain why we do what we do. Unless you do it, you will never understand!

Your best bet will be to PM Brad to see what he can do.

Got my shirts today. Thank you so much!

Did we talk about this, and I just missed it? http://news.walmart.com/news-archive/2013/11/12/walmart-announces-plans-for-black-friday-2013 New Process to Make Shopping Easier on Black Friday To help improve the shopping experience Walmart, for the first time in all stores, will hand out wristbands so customers can shop while they wait for some of the hottest items – like the new Sony PS4 and Microsoft Xbox One. Here’s how it works: Prior to the 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. events, customers need to go to the designated line within the store to secure a wristband for certain products. Wristbands will be distributed while supplies last. Customers can shop for other gifts throughout the store while they wait for the 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. events to start. Then customers with a wristband simply need to come back to the designated line within two hours after the event start time to pick up their product. A full list of these items can be viewed at http://news.walmart.com/blackfriday. Simon added, “Some other retailers advertise great deals, but may only have a handful of products available, forcing customers to wait outside the store only to leave disappointed. Not at Walmart. Most of our stores are open 24 hours so customers can come inside. And we’ve improved this year’s shopping experience so customers can spend less time in line and get what they need without going anywhere else.”

I still need Tractor Supply, Atwoods, Mardel, and FYE. Other than possibly Tractor Supply, I'm sure I will have to wait till next Thursday for those.
