  1. That's always been me too. I've posted more this year than in all the years before combined.
  2. I'm in the camp that says Black Friday just isn't as fun anymore. We made the most of it. We got almost everything we were after, but the spirit wasn't the same. I did like the wristband thing at Walmart though. We weren't held captive in line for hours, so we could go get everything else we needed/wanted. I did a lot more online shopping this year than I normally do. Thanks to everyone at Gottadeal for the deals and advice, I saved a LOT of money.
  3. LOTS of little kids! And they were so overstimulated and cranky, and of course their parents are getting on to them. I wanted to tell this one family "You know, the people staring at you aren't blaming the child!"

    wrist bands?

I really liked the wristband thing. I can't agree with the store not being packed though, lol. The Walmart we always go to is kind of out of the way and never too crowded. Tonight, people were parking across the street! We booked it to a small town 30 minutes south. It was very crowded as well, but we could at least get in the door. We got there about 6:30, got our wristband for the laptop, then shopped for a couple hours until we could go pick it up. We got there too late for just a couple things, but all in all I'd call it a success.
  5. Totally off topic, but I just want to say that every time I read one of your posts I automatically read it in Keith Urban's voice. lol
  6. http://www.today.com/money/black-friday-madness-its-not-always-about-deals-2D11650352 Someone tries to explain why we do what we do. Unless you do it, you will never understand!
  7. Your best bet will be to PM Brad to see what he can do.

    wrist bands?

Did we talk about this, and I just missed it? http://news.walmart.com/news-archive/2013/11/12/walmart-announces-plans-for-black-friday-2013 New Process to Make Shopping Easier on Black Friday To help improve the shopping experience Walmart, for the first time in all stores, will hand out wristbands so customers can shop while they wait for some of the hottest items – like the new Sony PS4 and Microsoft Xbox One. Here’s how it works: Prior to the 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. events, customers need to go to the designated line within the store to secure a wristband for certain products. Wristbands will be distributed while supplies last. Customers can shop for other gifts throughout the store while they wait for the 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. events to start. Then customers with a wristband simply need to come back to the designated line within two hours after the event start time to pick up their product. A full list of these items can be viewed at http://news.walmart.com/blackfriday. Simon added, “Some other retailers advertise great deals, but may only have a handful of products available, forcing customers to wait outside the store only to leave disappointed. Not at Walmart. Most of our stores are open 24 hours so customers can come inside. And we’ve improved this year’s shopping experience so customers can spend less time in line and get what they need without going anywhere else.”
  9. I still need Tractor Supply, Atwoods, Mardel, and FYE. Other than possibly Tractor Supply, I'm sure I will have to wait till next Thursday for those.
  10. If I had to guess at the time zone, I would say central since that's where they're hq is located. The Infinity is back up to $75. Don't know if they sold out or if they screwed up again.
  11. http://www.academy.com/shop/store/weekly-ad?icid=weeklyad1 This is their ad for the 24th thru the 27th (link to their website). Looks like a lot of their Black Friday deals will be on sale for the same prices all week.
  12. Darn. Wish I had caught it before you had to remove it. That is always one of our stops.
  13. I don't camp, so I'm just curious about the protocol here. He said he's a part of a group that will rotate and at least 1 person has to be there at all times. Does that mean when it's time to open, the whole group will go in? How does that sit with other people in line?
  14. No. You're thinking of the Christmas Ad Match. They will not do Black Friday sales on the Christmas Ad Match. However, under their regular price match policy, if you have Target's (or any other store in your area) ad ON Black Friday and take it to Walmart during the hours of the sale in the ad, they will match the prices in the ad as long as they have the exact item. Does that make sense?
  15. The sale they will have this Friday will be items they have chosen. They won't be price matching bf ads in the traditional sense that day. If you have the physical bf ad ON bf, they will price match those items during the hours of the sale in the ad if it's the exact item Walmart carries.
  16. Praying for your community! I live in Oklahoma (grew up in Moore), so I can sympathize. I wish I could make it better for you all, this really makes my heart hurt.

Keep an eye on Gottadeal's Online Deals. Chances are you'll find an even better deal than what Target is offering, unless you're just specifically needing the 3 month card rather than the 12 month. A few months back, I was able to get (2) 1 year cards, for $25 each. Of course, it may not come up again before Christmas, so I'm not saying don't jump on this deal.
  18. I always use eBay, unless I'm wanting more protection like Otterbox or Lifeproof (you never know if the ones on eBay are fake, and that can be a costly gamble). I actually have a Hello Kitty case in my watch list just in case I can get the mini at Walmart on BF for my dil.
  19. Sears had a set for $800. That was the lowest price I saw.
  20. I would love to see the Academy ad myself, but I don't think we ever get that one here.
  21. In my opinion, it makes enough of a difference to be worth it if you're looking at websites or documents, especially .pdf documents. Books and apps, maybe not so much.
  22. I went from the 7" to the 8.9", and I can see a difference. My main reason for going bigger was to load the ads and keep it with me on BF . I could do it on the 7", but it's a bigger difference than you might think on the 8.9.
