  1. I will be looking for a blu-ray player also. And hoping for a cheap price on a good tablet. Maybe a SodaStream for my son and daughter in law. I'm sure the list will grow by leaps and bounds once the ads start coming out.
  2. I have 7 things for my DIL, and just one or 2 for my sons . So far, I have spent $120 on her, but thanks to Gottadeal, I have SAVED $175!!
  3. Half Price Books 10/7
  4. 48? I admit, I looked back in time to guess at that # . Last year there were 46, and in 2011 there were 44. I couldn't find the threads for 2010 or 2009 (I don't THINK we just started this in 2011, but I may be wrong because that IS the first year I participated).
  5. Just sent my email. Can't wait to get my lists and start shopping! I'll admit I cyber-stalked my people a little last year, trying to make sure I bought just the right gifts . Also, I will volunteer as an "elf" this year, if you find yourself needing one.

    Secret Santa

Thank you Pogiporkchop! I'm really looking forward to it. I'd be happy to help in any way I can, but I wouldn't know how to run it myself.
  7. She sounds like a great kid - you must be doing something right . What if you re-did her bedroom? She's getting to that age where she's not a little girl, but not a big girl either. You could buy a new comforter set and curtains, maybe a lamp, wall décor, stuff like that. You could make it as bright and fun or as funky as you think she'd like it. Just one idea.
  8. Moore/Norman area of Oklahoma. It's about 20 minutes from my home but my mom and sister still live there.
  9. For the whole family, I'm thinking of getting a bluray player (I'm always late to the technology party) so they can get Netflix and Amazon streaming movies in the living room instead of having to haul the Xbox back and forth from DS18's room. Looking at regular prices on them now, I'm counting on finding one around $50 on BF. I'm thinking of getting my DIL a Kindle Fire. She's always reading fan fiction stories on her phone. I think she'll enjoy being able to actually SEE what she's reading. DS22 needs/wants some new boots. DS18 will probably get the latest Call of Duty game (surely there'll be a new one out - seems like there has been the last few years). Those are their most expensive items. There will be lots of "filler" gifts. My oldest grandbaby will be 2 this Christmas. He's going to be SO MUCH FUN this year that I'm sure I will go WAY overboard and get him anything and everything. The new grandbaby will be 6 months at Christmas. He'll be more interested in the paper, so he'll just get a few little toys.
  10. If my countdown is correct, we could possibly have the BF forum open by the middle of next week. Getting excited!
  11. I received my ornaments and my secret santa gifts today. I'm so blessed! I will try to take pictures when I get home tonight, but this is what I received... Ornaments: very cute snowman holding a Christmas tree sitting on top of a tophat; Snowglobe style snowman ornament with a jingle bell at the bottom. Secret Santa: a bag of candy (coworkers jumped on that as I was taking stuff out of the box!), 2013 Maxine calendar (Maxine is my hero ), B&BW Sweet Pea bubble bath (I'm ready to go home now), B&BW Sweet Pea hand soap in a very pretty holder, B&BW Cranberry Pear Bellini candle, a very pretty snowman tea light candle holder and 2 boxes of Yankee Candle tea light candles (one is "Cherries on Snow" and the other is "Cranberry Chutney", a 2012 angel photo ornament, and a snowman mug with hot cocoa and marshmallows. Thank you both SO much! I love it all!! Merry Christmas

  13. I pledge to stick around!
  14. It did show the correct price.
  15. I got the TV with no wait list. I was so shocked, I jumped and almost shut the laptop down.
  16. Looks like they'll have the $97 32" TV at 5:00pm PST.
  17. took over an hour, but the waiting finally paid off on the TV. Would love to be able to snag the $97 one too when it comes up, but I'm happy with what I've got .
  18. Did anyone else just lose the webcast?
  19. I don't know if there's a "typical" difference. I think it comes down to what the stores pay for the products. I can give you an example though...The 32" TV in the WalMart ad for $148 is $210 in our local ads.
  20. I don't think the card has to be registered by midnight, just paid for by midnight. right?
  21. I can't help but wonder "what's the catch?". I must be missing some fine print somewhere.
  22. Just sent my email...SO excited! Thank you!
  23. Harbor Freight, October 11. Whoever, Whenever, I can't wait!
  24. I said last year that I would not go to the sales that start Thursday night again. There were more people (good for the stores, I know), and they were more rude than I've ever experienced. I think it attracted a lot of people that were willing to STAY UP, but not willing to GET UP, which generally meant a younger crowd. I used to just shake my head reading the stories about fights and stuff, because my sister and I had never encountered that - until last year! I was disgusted, and claimed "never again!". Unfortunately for me, it's looking more and more like I can say goodbye to Black Friday shopping if I intend to stick to my guns.
