1. My brother in law is the hardest one for me to buy for. He's a big hunter, so it should be easy, but I just hate to get him the same stuff every year as if hunting is all he's about. I try to find unusual stuff for him, for example a few years ago I bought him a glass milk jar that stood about 2.5 feet tall and filled it completely with peanuts. My mom's not easy either, but one of the things she always asks for is money for the day after Christmas sales. So, I usually get her some small trinkets and I always get her a new tshirt from Mardel, then I give her money. Normally I am the type to say giving money or gift cards is no fun, but it's what she wants and she always appreciates whatever we can give her.
2. I'm probably about 50% done at this point. I bought my first gift back in July, but that is not the norm for me. I get to anxious to give people what I got them, so I have a hard time holding on to stuff this long. I usually start around September, when the temps start getting just a little cooler. That's when I start wanting to listen to Christmas music, and really get in "the mood". I do quite a bit of my shopping on Black Friday, but in years past I got a profit share check right before then and we're not getting one this year so I've had to start earlier and space it out.
3. Walmart and Target would be the top of the list, but I get excited over every single one. Even the ones not in my area, LOL.
4. http://blogs.wsj.com/corporate-intelligence/2014/09/24/expect-retailers-to-open-even-earlier-this-thanksgiving/ They were talking about this on our local news tonight. Seems the Wall Street Journal is predicting some stores will run their sales all day on Thanksgiving this year.
5. OMG, This! This says it all, doesn't it?
6. PM sent. I was having some trouble pasting the info so if it all disappeared please let me know and I'll email it instead. Thanks so much!!
7. I've been transitioning all of my music from iTunes to Amazon, so I've done some cleaning and rebuilding. My Christmas music playlist was the first one I completed and I've been listening to it a lot .
8. Kid-approved ‘2014 Holiday Toy List’ unveiled! http://kfor.com/2014/09/10/kid-approved-2014-holiday-toy-list-unveiled/
9. I prefer the longer list. The more we can know about our person, the better. And, if someone is inclined to say "I don't know" or "I don't care" on some questions, maybe there are other questions to help fill in some blanks. I also thread stalk (if you want to call it that). Once I have my person, I see what she/he has posted on threads in Gottadeal to try to learn more about them. I hope that's not as creepy as it sounds when I type it out . At any rate, I'm so excited for the SS and Ornament Exchange!

11. I'm no good at design, so I looked back at previous years' t-shirts (in this thread from last year: http://forums.gottadeal.com/topic/196310-black-friday-t-shirt-ideas-wanted/page-2?hl=t-shirt), and I really like the 2006 shirt. I think something similar to that would look good on a hoodie .
12. Yep, based on the news stories and such after the fact last year, the corporate suits all considered the new hours a success. Those of us that loved the traditional Black Friday shopping can file our experiences away in the "Remember When..." folder, and pull them out every year to share with our children and grandchildren who will never understand just how great it was. LOL
13. Record low temps for July in Oklahoma this week means it feels like fall, which means it feels like Black Friday should be right around the corner and ads should be coming out!
14. I bought a couple Christmas gifts last week, and it REALLY put me in the mood for Black Friday. Funny, you would think it would have put me in the mood for Christmas. Hmmmmm.
15. Reinholt1 - Your story brought tears to my eyes. God bless you and your parents. Merry Christmas!
16. It took us almost 4 hours, but my sister came to the office and helped and we got everything wrapped. Almost everything - my dil wants to wrap the grandbabies' stuff so I'll take it home to her. Don't know where she's going to hide it. I can leave it at the office till probably Friday. The problem is, in Oklahoma we don't get a LOT of ice and snow, so when we do we don't drive if we don't absolutely have to . Cause we stink at it. LOL. Add to that that I live outside the metro area, and they do NOTHING to our highway into our town, so getting to the interstate to get to the office is the most dangerous part. So, I'm afraid if the storm this weekend is as bad as they're predicting (which it usually isn't but this would be THAT time), I won't be able to get to the office Monday to load it all up. It would be the same if I left it at someone else's house, because we live in the boondocks.
17. I'm most excited for the awe that I know is going to be written all over my 2 year old grandson when he sees what Santa brought. As far as specific gifts, I'm most excited for the Sisters Knot necklaces I had done for my sisters.
18. I finished my shopping this weekend, but I have wrapped nothing. I hate wrapping and usually wait until the night before Christmas Eve. I've always shipped my boys off to their Gra-ma's house to spend the night that night. This year, my oldest son and his wife and their 2 children live with me, so that old plan doesn't really work anymore . Everything is in my office, because there is NOWHERE to hide anything at my house (we're a little full, lol). I was thinking I would come in next weekend and get everything wrapped and store it in the back of my car. Now they're saying we may get another round of winter weather move in Friday and Saturday, so that may be too big a gamble. I'll probably stay late at the office tonight and get everything wrapped, then load it in my car no later than Friday. I'm a little nervous about that because I'm afraid of someone breaking into the car, but with a little luck and a lotta prayer, hopefully they'll be safe.
19. I had not heard anything about it, so I searched online and found this... http://www.dailyfinance.com/2008/12/12/yet-another-walmart-sale-starts-sunday/ This is what is posted on Walmart.com: http://news.walmart.com/news-archive/2013/12/11/the-holiday-shopping-deals-continue-walmart-kicks-off-post-black-friday-savings-on-dec-13
20. http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k499/ts1852/image.jpeghttp://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k499/ts1852/image2.jpeg IT CAME! IT CAME! I'm so excited ! I received a beautiful B&BW gift set. The card said to take the time to pamper myself, and that's just what I'm gonna do. I see a long scented bubble bath in my near future!! Let me tell you a story. In June I had the opportunity to spend a week in Baltimore for a training class (I've only been out of Oklahoma a handful of times, so this was a big deal for me). My sister went with me, and while we were in that part of the country, we went and spent a weekend in Washington DC. Well, while in Baltimore we went to this park on Federal Hill and it smelled divine. I couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from, because there weren't any flowers to speak of. Then while in DC, we went to Arlington, and the same smell was there! I determined it was a tree. I came home and started googling "What is the tree that smells so good in Arlington National Cemetery?". The tree is a Japanese Cherry Tree. Guess what scent my new bath set from my Secret Santa is! YEP - Japanese Cherry Blossom. I tried to find my list to see if I had mentioned this scent, but we had a virus a couple months ago and it ate my archived emails, but I am almost sure I did NOT mention it. I don't think I would have because I didn't even know B&BW had this scent! Also got 3 B&BW scented candles: Mahogany Teakwood, Party Dress, and Frosted Cranberry. They all smell wonderful and I'm trying to decide which to burn right now . Thank you thank you thank you Secret Santa! You really made my day!!!

22. " />" /> I don't know if my pictures are working or not, I consider myself technically able but I can never figure out how to get a picture on here! ANYWAY... I received my ornaments today and I LOVE them! I received a Lenox reindeer and a Lenox snowman. I also got a stand for displaying one of them in my office. There was also a card with a Santa Claus button, AND, a bag of peanut clusters - YUM! Thank you so so much Candy
