  1. Has anyone else gotten theirs? I am still not getting anywhere w/ TRU, and Santa is about to panic. I just need to know if it will be here!!! They have already charged me, and I would hate to buy yet another Santa gift. DS saw the 1st 2 things we got DD from Santa, so we had to get this to keep him believing.
  2. I am sorry to hear about your child also. We were pretty lucky, mine didn't want to go to school Thursday, but felt fine that afternoon, even played ball that night. Friday he didn't want to go again, but didn't act very sick. Friday night, he couldn't breathe, DH thought I was overreacting when I took him to the hospital. He kept blacking out on the way and couldn't walk in. They only gave him amoxicillin and observed him for a couple of hours. Told us to bring him back the second he got worse. Sunday he was feeling much better. Thank goodness the antibiotics worked, but I was shocked that they didn't give him a nebulizer or steroids. I think it was because of lack of insurance. We paid cash, but that didnt' seem to matter. What really stunk is that it was so late we had to get his medicine at Walgreens, it was $50. But Walmart has it for $4, and Smitty's has it for $3.
  3. What about just the gift card? with nothing on it?
  4. The habitat for humanity is a good idea! I would never have thought of that. Or, I could just use them for our gift exchange there every year, LOL! and thank you... :)
  5. Poor Reindeer?!?!?!? I think they are more than okay now.
  6. Let me start by saying that I am not greedy in the least bit. My problem is that my grandparents always give us exactly $25 worth of gifts, and then cash for the adults and bonds for the kids. My husband decided to switch jobs a couple of months ago, and his new insurance doesn't kick in until next week. He took a huge paycut. So, Friday night, we spent in the hospital, because my son had pneumonia, with no insurance!!! And yesterday we were surprised with an extra several hundred dollar bill. Well, my mom just let me know that we're not getting $$ from the grandparents. The girls may be, but the guys are all getting cordless screwdrivers. My grandfather's idea, and he is SO excited. The problem is that grandma gets cordless screwdrivers/drills every year. We have 6 that have never been used. And I picked DH up a set with a saw, dremmel, and rechargable flashlight that comes with a drill also! (it was cheaper that way) Like I said, I am not greedy at all, but after 20+ years of this we have really come to expect the money. We almost consider it a reimbursement for all of the gifts we have to buy over there.
  7. I would add some fancy bread and condiments for a sandwich spread if needed.
  8. Mine is too~ I know several kids from school have had it lately also. Mine is finally on the mend, he was only really bad for a couple of days. We have been trying all day, and the norad one was of no help.
  9. Oh, and our PSE did come with an armguard, and my son weighs 60 lbs.
  10. We bought ours for my son (7) from tadspoles.com. It was actually an ebay auction, but they sell outright also. It is a PSE, a great brand, and we paid $41 for it, and 7 shipping. (great deal!) I am afraid it may be a little too big for him, but his recurve bow isn't strong enough to take hunting. Are you looking for a recurve or compound? Walmart carries a Fred Bear lil' Cub recurve for 19.96, and a compound for $49.00 The recurve is great, but the rest is very flimsy. I actually had to return the first one because it was broken when I got it out of the box. It has been put through the test though, and has held up great. Our walmart still carries these, but not any adult bows. I hope this helps, I would check out their website, and also their ebay auctions, because ours had superfast shipping, and absolutely no hassle whatsoever. It also came with many accessories and a couple of arrows. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask, as I have bought 4 bows for Christmas this year and have really done my research!
  11. same here! I was just getting back online to see if I had the right #.
  12. Our Walmart still has some from BF. They are 1G Impact for 12.87. YMMV
  13. OMG, after saying last night that there is absolutely no chance of snow, now they are calling for snow sunday night AND monday!!!!!! Of course, if I remember correctly, they say this every year and they are always wrong. Wishful thinking I guess.
  14. We have been in the 60's and 70's all week. Normal highs are 10 degrees lower than the lows we've been having. We had 70's and 80's through TG, then a blizzard the next week, and now we're back in the 60-70's. It is supposed to turn off cold tomorrow and remain in the upper 40's through Christmas. Christmas eve the low is 21. We had the air on today, because it was so muggy and I was baking!
  15. You can buy a bike bag at the Dollar Tree. It was about the only thing ours had left this morning. We make our kids sleep in our room on Christmas Eve. You have to cross the living room to get to our room, so when they wake up, they don't see what Santa left.
  16. While I was in there today, I saw a plasma tV that had been rolled back from 1398 to 998. I am not sure of details, I am sorry!!!
  17. I have had mine wrapped for a couple of weeks, or so I thought. With the nice UPS man bringing me more stuff every day, I have a huge pile again. Now, I have to wait until Tuesday, when the last should arrive. Dang Gottadeal freebies! (the overstock CD's and TRU GBA games).. or is it the last?!?!?!
  18. I wish my husband was fun. He is so boring!! and getting more boring by the day.
  19. How funny, I just walked back to check for you and it is a Halex also. And I looked back at my christmas list from last year and it was $7. Not sure if it was sale or not, but I think I picked it up the week before.
  20. I got ours at Target last year for less than 10 bucks. I am not a dart board expert, so I am not sure if it's nice, but it looked just as good as other, more expensive ones I saw. They have rearranged ours this year, so I'm not sure where to tell you to find it. I know it wasn't too far from the Christmas decorations. It wasn't on clearance either, and I got it before Christmas.
  21. Yeah, I tried those turtles like that once, I learned my lesson too. I still haven't really started, because I will be distributing most of mine this weekend, but I make: about 10-15 lbs of old fashioned chocolate fudge (the neighbors and relatives BEG for this) skillet cookies- (dates, rice krispies, coconut, YUMMY!) Mexican wedding cakes (or snowballs) lofthouse sugar cookies peanut butter bon bons mounds bon bons oh, and I made Corn Flake Cookies last night, I forgot how simple and delicious they are!
  22. he's not hot.. not as bad as he could be though!
  23. ours had all outdoor decorations 50% off last night.
  24. LOL!! I'm glad everyone is having so much fun with this. To update you, the UPS man came again on Friday to drop off 4 Office Depot Boxes. DS and I went out to help him, and he insisted on carrying in the biggest box, because it was too heavy for a little thing like me to carry. It weighed 18 lbs, LOL! If this is the way to spread the Christmas Cheer, I feel that my job is done.
  25. so next summer, we'll be able to tell who's a GDer, because we're all going to wear the same swimsuit?
