  1. I had a horrible experience w/ google checkout. My order was cancelled due to error through the retailer. Google had already charged me, and couldn't cancel it. They had NO record of my order, but had charged me. What happened was someone made a typo in my email. I had to call the retailer and get them to take care of it. Google customer service took forever because of emails. I did get my $$ back... after over a week. And the discount won't reflect on the retailers site, only the google site.
  2. did you try ebay? you can buy little people lots cheap. too bad I discovered this AFTER we had the majority of the stuff. or if you have a Gordman's near you, ours always has an entire aisle of LP stuff.
  3. we got ours last year from FP. I did see them at WM last night, but it was close to $40. Ours was $20, and had more pieces. Ours lights up and plays music too.
  4. Can we start another thread with this please? I value all opinions, and am in definite agreement with several of you. HOWEVER, I am in this thread to see if BF #2 has been confirmed and what the latest rumors are. Thanks! (I love a good debate, just not when I'm looking for something else)
  5. too cool fireman gal!!!! Makes us adults rethink believing! (those of us who don't)
  6. I've seen so many threads with great ideas on what you guys tell your kids to get them to be good for Santa, I wanted to get them all into one place. I came up with a good one yesterday. My DS7 NEVER shuts up, and we were both doing homework, and little sis, the lightest sleeper i have ever seen was due to wake up. I pointed into my mouth and said, "See this, pretend all this air is Christmas, and if you open your mouth, it will get it out, and you can never catch it again". I thought it was kind of dumb, but let me tell you, he didn't say a word for HOURS!!
  7. I have wanted to do that for so long! We are always so rushed Christmas morning, but maybe we'll just make everyone wait this year. I know! since rudolph is bringing the stockings this year, (we got huge stockings, crammed them full, and made the rudolph good behavior award, that only goes to ten kids each year, LOL!) we can have REINDEER GAMES! DH's present is a huge secret, he thinks he's getting a gun safe, and it's a bow, so maybe I can hide them all!!
  8. not a bad idea... and just leave them a note?
  9. If your child's Santa gift is too large to put in your home, how do you present it? A few years ago, we got DS a trampoline. That was when he was an only child, and Santa just left a note to look outside. This year, DD2 is getting a playhouse. DS is getting a compound bow. I'm sure she won't really care, but he will. How should I do this, so both get their Santa gifts at the same time?
  10. I was wondering the same thing last night when I was gone for 2 hours and hit new posts and 402 popped up. I think about 10-15 weren't "no win, no win"
  11. I dislike giftcards for several reasons. 1) a person knows exactly how much you spent, so these great deals we're spending hours searching for on here become obsolete. 2) there is nothing to unwrap, and I think christmas presents DESERVE unwrapping 3) There is no 'here and now' it's always 'there and later' 4) I am one that forgets about them, or I hate to use them when I make other purchases. That just makes it feel like I paid for it. 5) You always have to spend a little more or a little less. You don't know how many I have with a few cents to a couple of dollars on them. All for places that I never go to. I do like restaurant ones, they are great for newlyweds, or even baby shower gifts. I have seen at WM that you can buy them with several different restaurants on the same one, so you have some options. Oh, and I'd definitely use Dollar Tree ones, can't go wrong there!
  12. I looked tonight and couldn't find it.
  13. I kinda wished they had done that for me, but TRU is 40 miles away, and my neighbor nearly got killed a few years ago when she was hauling one home for her kids. It blew out of the back of the truck on I-44, and she jumped out to get it, right as a semi hit it, throwing it back at her. She was pretty banged up for a while. She's really dumb anyways, but I didn't think it was worth it for DH, who thinks nothing needs tied down, to haul it.
  14. I used to be able to order from a different zip, now it won't let me. Do you guys know any way around this?
  15. I got an email today that mine had shipped. Is yours in the original box?
  16. Holy cow, I have been kicking myself because I didn't get these. I just put 2 in my cart and it said only one was available. So I checked out fine w/ one and went back to try again, and they have been discontinued!
  17. Did you try Michaels or Hobby Lobby?
  18. What should I do w/ the regular stockings? Thanks for all the good response. My husband just rolled his eyes at me when I gave him my idea.
  19. Are these sales any better than what you can get from ordering from the club? I have teacher status, so I get bonus points, free books, etc, when ordering from the catalogs. I just wondered if it were worth driving, because it's 2 hours away, and we're completely snowed in, LOL!
  20. Location could help, I'm a whiz at weekend getaways... If not, what about pearls? (I got my last set at Kmart's 70% off sale, hehe) A gift basket of teaching supplies would be appreciated, or maybe offer to help her grade midterms over a candle lit dinner. maybe a gift certificate to a clothing store? teachers clothes can get sooo boring after a while. (trust me!) This is all coming from the woman whose husband gave her money for a new camcorder and didn't really care, but nearly cried when he brought her a new fishing pole. LOL!
  21. That's a good idea too! I wouldn't be surprised if my son knew how to do that. It seems they would rather teach them computers in 1st grade than making sure they know how to zip their coat and tie their shoes.
  22. Thanks! DD is 2 and DS is 7. How old are yours?
  23. I fell victim to the Amazon 90% off sale, and I have a couple of the little tikes flashlights for the kids. These were a lot of extra wrapping and in hard to wrap packages. I bought some huge (about 3 1/2 foot) stockings at the Dollar Tree, and filled them up. (and still had left overs) Then I got reindeer antlers and blinking noses at the DT, and decided to leave these with the stockings and tell the kids that they have been so good this year that they received the super-sized "rudolph stockings" and tell them that only a few kids get them every year, and they got really lucky. (to cover my butt if sales aren't this good next year) What do you guys think?
  24. DH only thinks he ruined his gift, LOL! Somehow he came up with the idea of a gun cabinet. (he only has 2 guns left, and they are already in one) So I pretended to get really upset and tell him that he always ruins his gifts. He has even rearranged the furniture to fit his 'gun cabinet'. Funny thing is, that his gift is a BBQ grill and a new Matthews Bow! Even when I tried to tell him it wasn't a gun cabinet, he thought I was lying.
