  1. We have never used layaway, but I am deeply disappointed by this because my husband was planning on standing in line to try to put a bag of M & M's on layaway. (he got the email of crazy things to do in wal-mart and hoped this would either make the cashier's day instead of royally ticking her off)
  2. Last year, the official WM ad, and the one posted on here seemed a little high priced. When we went to the store the day before thanksgiving, they had those little paper flyers up with totally different (much lower) prices. Did anyone else have this problem? What happened? Was it an advertising gimmick? Release the ad here with different prices?
  3. I took advantage of those sales last year for my daughter and nephew, (both now 2) and baby cousins. We set price limits in each family, usually $5-$15, so we bought the things we were going to buy our daughter anyways, and everyone else got free stuff! In store, many of the toys were 19.98 and 21.98, which made the higher/lower thing work perfectly. I was worried about that, but we got tons of great gifts. I recommend the puppy rocker and shopping cart. My SIL swears the puppy was the best toy they've ever gotten.
  4. I take my husband, and I take our walkie-talkies. MUCH better than cells. I just can't figure out how to make my husband use the walkie-talkie. It took 2 years to get him to carry it, and he still won't turn it on. Any ideas? I would have thought that after the year he pushed the trampoline around for 2 hours he would have caught on. Also, since we have such a small town, BF is like a reunion. Our Swalmart started staying open all night before BF last year, so we all get there around 2, look for each other, and talk and walk for a while. Then we all divide up go stand by the pallets we want and take orders. We keep a running count of how many we need, then we all meet in grocery and divide them up. (ALWAYS put the 2 biggest and meanest on cabbage patch and large stuffed care bears)
  5. we bought one on bf 2 years ago for $80. My 7 year old has played with it more than anything he has ever gotten. Incident free. Homeowners insurance was a HUGE problem. Our agent works with tons of companies and there are just a few that will cover a home with one. Our insurance went waaay up, until we 'got rid' of it. AND, my advice, if they do run them this year, is not to mess with the blitz sale. My husband went with me, waited in line for it, then pushed this cart with this SUPER heavy thing through the crowd for over 2 hours. I was trying to find him, but he wouldn't stand still! The bottom fell out of the box, he got it all rounded up, we paid for it, got it home and hid. We went back to walmart 2 weeks later, and they still had them. He STILL gripes!!!!! (oh, and when we put it together christmas eve, 3 of the springs were formed wrong and it took weeks to get more)
  6. I only know of 2 in the southern half of Missouri, and I just discovered one of those a few weeks ago. (Springfield and Joplin) BUT, I don't remember there ever being any more.
  7. Our walmart stores all bf things in trailers outside and behind the store. There is NOTHING visible to the typical shopper. My husband noticed the overload of trailers a couple of years ago, and now we watch to see how full the side and back lots get!
  8. I have heard rumors that the TMX Elmo will reappear on BF. Completely unsubstantiated, but we can dream. I agree with the game systems. Also, those vacuum cleaners sucked! Ours is great as long as you don't have the floor attachment on. Perfect for corners, that's it. Also, last week at our Wal-Mart, they had a huge bin of Hot Wheels monster trucks, in BF packaging. It was 2 trucks for $4. These are usually $10 each, and the bin disappeared by th enext day. Employee boo boo?
