There was also one in Parents and Woman's Day I believe- but if you have to pay $4-$5 for each magazine it's not going to help you. The coupon "LEAPSTR5" works on all leapster games, and most are $18 on the leapfrog site. Aren't they $20-$25 each at the store?

wii accessories?( so confused!)
amyers12345 replied to ourhappyfamily4's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
A generic one should work just as well... I don't know about the charger.. we had one but preferred rechargable batteries. They seem to last longer than the others. I bought a 1-hour AA battery charger at Walmart and we love it. -
Our Walmart had some of the Black Friday bikes left over. They were put together and on the bike rack. They were not marked with a price, but since they were a BF exclusive, I'm assuming that they are still $49. The girls one is purple and is a Next brand. The model is Generation (I think). Also, check our lawn and garden departments at Walmart- ours all carry the clearance bikes back there.

Spoiled by Amazon Shipping? VENT
amyers12345 replied to conj's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
The majority of comments here aren't 'issues' per say, unless you're accustomed to having free 2-day shipping with Amazon (which is usually next day). Anything that takes longer than 24 hours to get here becomes an issue with Amazon customers. Realistically, a week to 10 days is a common shipping time, and would be acceptable to most shoppers, it is a PITA for us! -
wii accessories?( so confused!)

You'll still need one more nunchuck- many games require them to play and you can't share. We are a family of 4, and we only have 2 remotes/nunchucks, because most games have you take turns and you can share. In order for all of us to play Mario Kart, we do need 4 controllers, but we use our gamecube controllers. It is MUCH easier and we all fight over who gets them. You can still buy gamecube controllers and you might be able to pick up a couple of used ones on ebay for just a few dollars. You don't really need the Wii Points card, as you can buy points online with your wii. -
most of the coupons on the Target site are now manufacturer's coupons- they've made drastic changes in the past couple of weeks.

You've never heard of unwrapped gifts, but you eat chicken with waffles? LMAO! We have done both.. but the years we did wrap, the kids found the remainder of 'Santa's' paper... so we cut that out. My parents never wrapped them either.

I make a super yummy cheesy shrimp pasta that makes enough to feed 20 people for VERY little. Throw in some bread and salad and you're done. Even our non seafood eaters love it! LMK if you want the recipe!

Spoiled by Amazon Shipping? VENT

I've been waiting all week on an order from Buy.com that shipped on Sunday (Fedex). I checked for the item on Amazon, but it was $50 more. The next day, Amazon marked it down, but it was too late to cancel my order from Buy.com. I ordered stuff on Thursday from Amazon and got it on Friday. I know I'm spoiled, because 7 days is not a long to wait to get something, but I'm ticked about it. -
I picked this up last night but it was already claimed when I came to post it. I *thought* I was done with DS until I saw that. It's got great reviews, but I'd never heard of it. Let's hope it does what it's supposed to, it sounds uberly-cool.. almost too cool!

We've had ours from the Dollar Tree for about 3 years and they are still in good shape (even with the kids using them as jumping sacks). Even if I had to replace them every 3 years, it would take 48 years to pay off a $16 one :)

The newest models have a different chip in them called 'Jasper'. It has a LOT less risk against RROD than previous chipsets. The warranty has gotten better and as long as you have one with a Jasper chip and keep it WELL ventilated, I don't think there is much risk.

We'll be home on Christmas Eve this year- I think. We were last year, so we want to start a new tradition. At one Christmas, we do breakfasts, another we do ham sandwiches, and the other is seafood- grilled and fried shrimp (flown in) and a fish fry. I have been running ideas by the family all day.. nothing decided yet!

Elf on the Shelf - On sale anywhere?
amyers12345 replied to AudreyNicole's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I saw the new B&N coupons somewhere that are for $10 off of it, leaving it $20 I think. They are printables, but I think they can be used online. I'll keep looking and see if I can't find them (or remember where I saw them!) -
I got something similar from Amazon yesterday- a product I ordered (with Prime) was not supposed to be in stock until 12/3 and plainly said that on the site. Yesterday I got a notice that it had been delayed and wouldn't be here until Friday- as the UPS guy was knocking on my door. Kmart's online ordering has always been lackluster to say the least. They charge very high shipping and have very few items in stock (as you'll see when you get to checkout only). I personally won't order from them- too messy. Sears has a great website, you would think that they would maintain a similar format. As far as grouchy people... I can't stand to even leave the house anymore, as everyone I encounter is so gripy! I used to hate working from home or being a SAHM during the holidays because it seems prevent you from getting in the spirit when you're not exposed 24/7. Now I LOVE it!!! (But I hate people!)

$5 Dora the Explorer Wildlife Game for Leapster
amyers12345 replied to toebaby's topic in Online Hot Deals
I just wanted to point out that I did this order last weekend after it was available for a couple of days because it just screamed 'cancellation'. Mine shipped on Monday morning and is on track to be delivered today. Of course, the Dora's Wildlife game was $7.49 then, but Batman was $5. -

You're welcome! You can freeze the jalapenos whole and they thaw on the counter in 10 minutes or so. That's how I keep mine year round. You can also used canned ones if you like. I have frozen them like that- you might want to let them sit out for a few minutes or so- and all you need is cream cheese to melt, so it works fine- if they aren't done in the middle, you can microwave them for 5-10 seconds. I try to start with 3/4 inch balls, but by the time you're done making them, you'll get lazier and they will get larger. Just remember that they double in size when you're done rolling them, so they get pretty big if you don't keep it small.

A yummy non-traditional mashed potato recipe is to mash your potatoes with cream cheese, milk, butter, and a little bit of garlic salt. Tastes just like Applebees but with real potatoes. Sweet Potato Casserole (bear with me, I'm a throw it all in chef) 3 lbs sweet potatoes milk 1/2 stick butter (melted) 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp salt 1/3 cup sugar 1 egg Bake sweet potatoes at 350 for 1 hour or until cooked through. Remove from skins. Hand mash with the rest of the ingredients, spread into 8x8 baking dish. Topping: 3/4 stick butter or margarine, softened 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup flour 1/2 cup pecans 1/2 cup coconut Stir together brown sugar and flour. Cut in margarine. Stir in flour and pecans. Sprinkle over sweet potato mix. Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes or until topping is brown. Crockpot Corn 2 bags frozen corn 1 brick cream cheese 1 tsp salt 1 tsp pepper Throw it all in crockpot and cook on low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally
