  1. Write in Candidate: Gremlins
  2. We're waiting on 3- 2 from Amazon that I ordered on Monday and one from B&N. All were unplanned purchases, and the B&N order was a tech book for me and a book for the boy. The Amazon is a ring and headphones for me and a guitar book for the boy. Nothing major- and it's all on time anyways.
  3. I'd go with Target- you can find some super cute stuff there. The $ spot has some guys stuff, too. They also have a better holiday selection and better clearances.
  4. I would assume you could as with any dough. I bought a pizelle maker years ago and have never used it- but I just had to have it! Do you mind sharing your recipe?
  5. On the years we're home (few and far between) I like to do something very different or a family favorite. Crawfish boil and jambalaya is one of our favs, but now the kids love tacos- which we don't have very often. This year, we're going to my MILs at 3:00- we'll be home early, but hungry. I am thinking about making up some chicken strips and spinach dip- maybe some bacon cheese fries. We LOVE appetizers for dinner!
  6. I know they want gifts for them to open, too- but I LOVE doing this!!! We have more fun on trips that with toys that sit in the closet and get tossed the next year. It's easy to get caught up in the gift giving chaos, but how many of them actually get used? A few years ago, we got the kids a weekend to the indoor waterpark in Branson. The weekend we went was cold as heck, and we didn't realize that you had to go outside (quite a ways) to get in and out of the waterpark. We froze our butts off, but the kids still talk about it. They don't even remember what someone got them last year. This year, mom got us a new tent, camp stove, and some other camping equipment. It will be a gift that we always have a ton of fun with!!! The kids were both finally big enough to start taking to our hidey hole in the wilderness last summer and we had a blast.
  7. Men!!! Mine does the same thing.. he has 3 brothers and sisters, along with their spouses, and 10 nephews, 1 niece. Every year, I start hounding him in August to find out who we are buying for. Then it always changes the week before Christmas. We don't see one sister or her 7 kids (she has 2 a year, literally), but always have to buy for them. This year he decided not to buy for his sisters, only for his brother. I'm not sure what he was thinking there! Then he did decide to buy for his mom (we only see or hear from her at Christmas because she's consumed by the other kids). So when he was helping me wrap, he asked me why I got his mom a gift ?!?! He even helped pick it out, lol. I guess the moral of my digression is the fact that we always know better and somehow they like to step in at last minute and screw it up. If yours is like mine, he'll forget by then.. or won't be paying attention when they open it, lol.
  8. Mine? It's a Toshiba Satellite L355-S7835. Dual core Centrino, 17"
  9. I may have to call RS today! That's exactly what I've been looking for.. or close enough. I bought a defective motherboard for mine and am waiting on my $$ back..
  10. I'm glad you figured it out! As a tomboy, here's my list (for future reference): more boots saddle TPX Slugger bat Adidas Aswego running shoes pitching machine batting cage (yes, I've been BEGGING!) Berne Coat (carhartt-type) My Carhartt is CRAP! did I mention more boots? I just bought a new bicycle, but I want a cushy seat and a cool water bottle.
  11. What about an Aerie GC and a promise of a shopping trip? Most 13 YO girls would love to go clothes shopping! A keyboard or guitar might just spark her interest in music. Make sure you grab a DVD course or a book so that she can try to test the waters on her own before she commits to lessons. What about a room makeover? New comforter/sheets and some cute piece of furniture?
  12. I just started re-applying after the wii one. I got into several a couple of years ago, but had no luck for a while. I really wish I'd done the Wii one!!! I did get into the DiGiorno one- I'm thinking about saving it for the super bowl, too. Is there even any football the weekend it's supposed to be?
  13. lots of camping stuff here in MO. I had told mom that we'd like some stuff for Christmas and she found tons for 50% off. Tents, Propane Grills, and Lanterns is what I know for sure. No patio stuff in this snow storm
  14. I'm with lakj98. I don't think I've spent too much, but we have waaaaayyyyy too much stuff. I was hoping to cut back this year, and we did- but not enough! I buy most of mine w/ Amazon gift cards and deep discounts. I've spent about $300 OOP and retail was around $3,000. I still have $150 in Amazon GC that have to be used by 12/31- dang promotional discounts! We're getting bicycles for DH, DD, and I- that was the most expensive part and I got all 3 half off. Other big ticket gifts were a digi cam, camcorder, flip, xbox360, and rockband. Everytime I think I'm done wrapping, I see another item on my list that I skipped and have to dig it back out!
  15. I picked this up a couple of weeks ago when it hit $9.99. It looks REALLY cool! It has great reviews and is $60 at Target for those of you who are on the fence.
  16. I agree with Scott- and you're going to be hard pressed to find one right now. I was looking everywhere in August because mine broke and I could only find about 3 options in all of our stores. I bought one I didn't like for $40 (it was on clearance) and the next week I found the one I really, really wanted at the Nike outlet for $8 The clearance them all out in July/August to make room for football/hockey gear. They bring them back out in Jan/Feb. You might try looking on Ebay for one just like his old one if he really liked it.
  17. I've had everything and I absolutely LOVE my Rachael Ray set. You can pick up a full set for around $150. It's much more expensive when buying by the piece. I only have 2 skillets and they get used multiple times daily. I've had them for over a year and they still look brand new. To clean them, you just have to wipe them out.. even after scrambled eggs. I'm not a RR fan, but received these as a gift. I am getting another set for Christmas!
  18. I put everything out as I wrap it- usually 3 weeks ahead of time. I don't have enough room to store it (and keep it hidden) elsewhere! We do put together any gifts that are going to require assembly so that the kids aren't disappointed on Christmas morning. DS is getting a camcorder, DD is getting a bike. We have HUGE problems with DS getting up and going to look, so I might just wrap his this year.
  19. Do you have a problem with that?!?! I can only think of one time I've been offline and that's when we were w/o power for 17 days due to an ice storm. I've been on here multiple times daily for over 4 years now and I think I'm JUST FINE!!! :)
  20. Congrats guys! I'm not sure how I missed it this morning- didn't show up in my 'New Posts'.
  21. The Grinch vs Miracle on 34th Street- Original Version The Santa Clause vs White Christmas Christmas Vacation vs Santa Claus- The Movie It's a Wonderful Life vs Elf Gremlins (because Gremlins really deserved to win!!! I HATE Will Ferrel!)
  22. Thanks Jen! I've got a $25 GC to there that I've been sitting on for months. I need the Wimpy Kid books, but they are half the price at Amazon (and i have GC for there, too). I just couldn't find anything worth my while at BN. This may help.
  23. All Hasbro Board games are up to 75% off! Link
  24. We have 2 fry daddys and use them nearly daily. Yeah, we deep fry everything. I LOVE them. One sits on the counter, the other stays put away until we're cooking for more. I've had them both for 7 years and had no problems whatsoever with them.
  25. I might have to pick up Tinkerbell at that price- thanks for the heads up!
