yeah... i was more worried about the shipping address. i usually ship everything to my office (so that someone always signs for it and so that my fiance doesn't see what i bought) but if it ships on the 17th there was a chance it would arrive AFTER we shut down for the holidays, so it would have been stuck in limbo until january 2nd. luckily i managed to change it in time.

i was just wondering. i placed an order last friday and it barely shipped today. i placed another order today and it's not scheduled to ship for a week. i think amazon hates me.

if she has a friend that knows how to fix computers, sure. but don't pay to have someone fix it - at the age of that laptop, it's not worth it. get a new one.

are you using prime, pay for shipping or using the free ship? my second order i did free ship, and had to change the shipping address, since it's not scheduled to ship until the 17th and my office is closed after 5pm on the 19th!

bah i went the other day to find small cute things, and the stuff that's left was dinged or missing a little "leg" on the jewelry boxes.

someone just had to link the paper mario... so i wound up getting that for my brother... and then i just HAD to buy more baby toys to get the total over 25 dollars... my friend's baby is going to be SO spoiled this christmas. maybe i'll hold some of it back for a later occasion.

go ahead and add it to your cart and obsessively check amazon every hour. they'll notify you when you check your cart if the price drops.

B&M stands for "brick and mortar" or a real store. it means usually you must go to the actual store to get the deal.

i'd get her the laptop. perhaps if she wants the guitar, you guys can split the cost for her birthday in the future? the laptop is a much more pressing need. i didn't like using the lab computers, because i actually wound up more distracted in the labs! i always went back up to my room to get additional materials and so on.

ugh. i went shopping last night, and i only was able to find 2 gifts. i'm absolutely STUCK on my parents, my sister, my future in laws, and my future sister in law.

Perhaps jillysmommy can give a christmas card with a printout of the magazines inside so that he knows to expect them?

luckily in CA, i always had Fry's to buy that kind of item, so CompUSA really had no chance out here. nowadays you can buy that random item online (unless of course it's an emergency...)

hmm it's not deducting anything for me either, i tried it with brides and cosmo, so then i tried playing with cosmogirl, went all the way to nearly checking out, and it still came up at the listed price.

you still have to call ATT to get a new sim card for the phone number for the phone that burned up. the new phone doesn't know otherwise what phone number to use. unfortunately, i don't think ATT backs up the data on the sim card... you'd have to reprogram all the phone numbers.

you don't need a lot of accessories but to consider: - a wall charger - a skin or silicone cover and also... another set of headphones for later on. on my (1st gen) nano, the left earbud is going out. my sister the genius managed to expose some wiring on hers.

are you in an area with a fry's? they had one for 699 (but with a 50 dollar mail in rebate) in the southern california newspapers today. HP. fairly sure it's x2, i think it's the same one my dad just bought my sister. it comes with only 1GB though, so you'd have to upgrade to 2GB.

according to several users, they've bought a pay as you go phone and took the sim card out of the phone from their ATT contract phone and it's worked fine. i have no experience with this because i use verizon... no idea how much that simcard is, but your DH is going to have a LOT of fun replacing those numbers since everything was stored on the simcard. call ATT and ask. you can't just go to ATT and buy a simcard. you do have to purchase the service, whether through a contract or through the pay as you go service.

my fiance got his dell laptop at costco... costco return policy applies, which is why he wanted to go through them in case it didn't work out.

none nowhere near here. and nothing good when the one near here went out of business either!

gift cards to grocery stores maybe? i'd love a gift card to whole foods every now and then, because they have a great prepared foods section. or trader joe's.
