    Micro Center ad?

Thank you for the reviews. I'm on the outskirts of KC and had never heard of the store before until the other day on gottadeal. Now I'm itching to go look around in the store, because as you say, the online prices are very competitive with newegg. It's just about sales tax vs shipping (if any from newegg). I like the idea of using a local store though, so that will probably be the tipping point.
  2. Newegg is great. I've never had any problems with them either. Ordered a new PC tower on 11/22 and received it on 11/24 with standard shipping. They're fast! I'm not a fan of the MIR though, but hey, whatcha going to do? A+ site IMO.
  3. Have the sunglasses and the iRenew. Not impressed with either one.

    Micro Center ad?

    sweet. Thank you!
  5. We have a ps3 and Wii. I originally chose the ps3 because of the graphics being superior. The Wii was purchased becasue of the additional fun factor of using the controller and nunchunk and balance board (wii fit, olympics, etc). My pros/cons on the systems would be: xbox 360: Kinect (no controller game play), HALO (only available on xbox). ps3: PS Move (camera w/controller) to get into the immersion effect, plays blue-ray, playstation store allows you to download demos of games, can also play against others online (all systems offer this). Wii: Balance board and controllers for immersion are fun. The balance board was fun for yoga and olympic games. It has some Wii fit pieces that are good too, but we really don't do much with it. We purchased it for Christmas last year and most of its use is for watching netflix these days (the boys prefer to play on the computer). More children type games. Additional bonuses: netflix will play on all 3 (as an app), MLB app for ps3 (may have been on other systems, but I didn't check). If I had a choice to do it all over again, I'd still go with the PS3 and maybe the xbox 360 because of Halo and the new kinect (playing without a controller just sounds like a lot of fun). Good luck! update: I noticed today that Hulu plus is now available on the PS3. This allows for watching tv episodes (not all, but qutie a few). I'm hoping to eventually get to where I can cancel DirecTV and just do everything through via the Internet. Hulu is free on the pc, but the plus piece costs $8/month and is required for iPad, iPhone and PS3. Not sure if it is available on the xbox 360, but I would be surprised if it wasn't.

    Micro Center ad?

Anyone know anything about a Black Friday ad for Micro Center? I recently ran across them online and found out they had a store within 30 miles of me. The online prices were comparable to newegg and even better in a few cases. I'm hoping they have even better deals on Black Friday, but haven't seen anything yet. Thank you, Brian.
  7. Try this link for information about the HDTV and what size of TV you'll want based on room size. http://www.cnet.com/1990-7874_1-5108580-2.html Also, if you're viewing from a great distance, then 720p will be fine. But if you're viewing close (10 feet or closer), you'll want a 1080p HDTV. The article will help.
  8. The iPod touch does offer wifi (and of course the iPhone). The other iPods do not.
  9. I haven't played an online game for a few months now (EQII, then DDO), which were all good with my Radeon 9800 PRO. Well I'll be damned if I didn't buy LOTO only to discover that although my system meets the minimum, it still won't play the game (it keeps locking up, even after reinstall, updated drivers and reinstall of DX9.0c). So then I tried Tabula Risa to the same effect. Grrr... I wasn't looking at upgrading right now, but I'm going to have to if I want to play any new games. =/ I've done the ATI cards for many years, but I was looking at doing the GeForce this time around just to try something different. Oh and I know. Never play a game with only the minimum requirements. But Christmas is coming and the money went to gifts for others instead of gifts for me.
  10. We currently own an XBox, so I'm not concerned about PS2 games. I want all the new technology, not extra crud (technology) to make sure old games can play on a new system. Let's move forward, not keep reliving the past! Aye, Cannon1, that was what I've been looking for. If I had decided on which system earlier, I'd be a happy camper, but since I didn't, I'm patiently waiting.
  11. They're all still doing the 5 free blue-ray DVDs, even if they are older movies mostly. I was looking for some free stuff to go along with my purchase. Of course, I wasn't looking at the PS3 when Amazon did their first day of deals. That was the free remote and some game I'd never heard of before (along with the 5 free blue-ray dvds). Oh well, still trying!
  12. It looks like I'm forgoing the Wii and XBox 360 to get a Playstation 3. Anyone seeing any good deals out there on them? I figured this weekend's ads would be the last big push, so something might come up there with getting free stuff to go with it. But just in case anyone has seen a good deal online, I thought I would check. Right now, I'm looking at the 40GB version (with spiderman 3) for $399. As far as games. I would like guitar hero III and lego star wars. Total outlay around $500, I wouldn't want to spend too much more than that. Thank you in advance.
  13. On sale at Discovery.com, so it is below the $25 needed. Unless you want to include the batteries for $9.
  14. For some reason I cannot access that link and receive the following message when trying to.
