  1. A local store here took down their Halloween stuff and put up Christmas in place of it two days before Halloween! Eeks. Anyway, no lights around here.. yet.. I imagine they'll start appearing though. We won't even think to put them up until late November.
  2. IMO, iPods are over rated and over priced. I think what a person needs depends on their usage and also their understanding of electronics/computers in the first place. A lot of my family will be the first to admit they need something very user friendly, which limits them in a sense. :) Epinions.com has a lot of reviews on most all MP3 players. :)
  3. I don't think so. I think *some* stores will do it, but not many to make a tidal wave among customers.. I could be wrong, but it's the side of me hoping this doesn't happen I guess. I see both sides to letting the ads be out early (as far as how the retail giants must look at it). IMO, it works better for them if their ads are out early..
  4. Lights? Window clings in the front windows? Inflatables? Other yard decor? What?? In previous years we did lights and the snow stuff in the main window. Since the kids and the cats mess up the snow stuff, we'll nix that one this year. So this year will be lights on the house as well as the front deck (will look so nice I think!) and I'm trying to think of some sort of simple yet nice yard decor (no inflatables)..
  5. There's an attraction downtown but I believe you have to either pay to get into certain spots.. PLUS it's a huge PITA to drive through as everyone and their dog shows up, lol! There are local streets, but only the locals know about which streets do them usually. :)
  6. Wow, thanks. This is such a cute idea. And if you get a letter, a keepsake for the kids if they are young now... or maybe that's the hoarder in me.
  7. I prefer the strands to have the choice of flashing or not, we usually have them on steady and not flashing.

    Toys for Charity

We usually adopt one or two families (only the kids ask for stuff, but we give general items for the parent(s)) every year. I think DH's work has a giving tree at every plant, so we'll be probably adopting off of the tree. :)
  9. I *may* PM at Walmart if the deal is worth the PITA it usually is to PM. LOL.
  10. Shower, get into new clothes, start dinner.. :)
  11. Welcome!! A lot of people refuse to go out, but they have no idea what they are missing - yes, it's crazy and not always in a great way, but for the most part it is worth it!!!
  12. Yes, I like to have the actual ad in my hands.. it's almost as exciting as seeing them on GottaDeal for the first time.

    We're on CNN.com!

I wanna know how they came across it? Have you figured that out yet??

    snow on christmas

I think I've only had one white Christmas in my lifetime. So I don't care either way.

    treats?

Homemade pies and the main course (usually turkey).
  16. Weird.. I KNOW I replied to this before. Anyway, I don't think we spend too much on our kids, no. In fact, I am sure some think we don't spend enough.
  17. We don't have a color or theme either. We just use the ornaments we've collected over the years, etc.
  18. First time I've seen this thread. 6:30 is wayyyy too early for me. Drats!
  19. I think there are cheaper yet just as classy places to buy food from online, if she just looks a bit. What about a gift cert to Schwan's? I've heard they have good food and they aren't as pricey (though still UP there IMO).

    stocking ideas

Depends on the age.. For my kids, it's easy.. all three are toddlers, so Hot Wheels, easily chewed pieces of candy, and other little toys are easy to find at most stores. I imagine all three will get at least one or two bigger things in their socks, like they will all get a doll or something. :)
  21. Alternative routes to take between stores I mean? I am thinking about this.. and realizing there's a much faster way between the TRU and Best Buy here, that most people probably don't think about (it's all about the highway, right?). I'm sure some people will take the back roads, but I wonder just how many are thinking about this? Of course there are a few more stop signs and some slower traffic.. but I think if I plan this correctly, I could make better time than taking the highway. I'm officially BF insane.
  22. Probably TRU, with Best Buy coming in at a CLOSE second.
  23. I haven't spent a penny on Christmas gifts yet!
