  1. I'll have to look at the sites posted tonight. Do any of them ask for just holiday cards? I'd be able to afford to send cards I think. Another q, how much is it to send a card overseas (like to Iraq for instance)? I've only mailed stuff to Australia (as far as my mailing out of the country).
  2. That's great!! And on Clark Howard? WOO HOO!
  3. From what I've dealt with in the past, I'd get a signed statement. Now, I know it sounds silly BUT I've had employees change the rules on me during the same store visit. Also, some employees believe one thing, while others believe another. Managers even change their minds day to day sometimes.
  4. At TRU yesterday, their window display said you didn't need the coupon to receive the card.. yet when I asked inside about it (I wasn't spending $75 but asked anyway), they said you did need the coupon from the ad and were taking the display down. Weird! Anyway, if someone wants my coupon, PM me your address and it's yours. I don't need mine.
  5. Toys R Us was *nuts* yesterday! Every register was open and there were LONG lines. I suddenly realized it would not be my first stop no matter what on BF!
  6. I think handheld electronic games such as that should wait until they are closer to ten years old. I think it is okay to pull out a console (GameCube, 360, Playstation, etc) occasionally for some of the family to use though and include to the 5 year old in playing. Just my opinion.
  7. I think if people want to set this up, they should and can via PM. I'm sure a few could make this work for them - help one another get the items they want, as long as they are hitting the same stores, etc.
  8. A post above made me remember - when I working BF, a lady was mad that we didn't have ladders out for HER to get the items. I had to call an employee to climb up for the item she wanted. I couldn't do it as I supervised the registers. Anyway, she took the ladder out (I didn't see her doing this of course) and she climbed up. She fell coming back down and then passed out. So in the middle of BF, we have paramedics blocking part of the store with her on the stretcher and she was mad that she didn't get the item (apparently another customer grabbed it once the lady fell and dropped it - wow). I never found out what this item was, but I was curious (something in the toy aisle), lol. She was carted off to the hospital for suspected heart attack but it turns out she just knocked the wind out of herself.
  9. How old are your girls? Definitely keep an eye on the BF forum here.

    Christmas dinner

Usually turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, rolls, pumpkin pie..
  11. Even with use of coupons, the items are still the same price as Walmart.
  12. I would go to the store if you can and check them out. I bought a Canon PowerShot a few months ago from Best Buy. I agree with mrn8, Kodak's aren't the best when it comes to their digital cameras. I've had an Olympus and a Canon now and both I highly recommend for point and shoot digital cameras. :)
  13. I try to get one on sale at Fred Meyer (Kroger). Not sure how much I pay on average (per lb). We usually buy a 15 lb turkey though.
  14. We will starting this year! Oreo's and milk and probably carrots for the reindeer.
  15. In the past, a week before.. now? The night before.. otherwise the kids will be opening the presents early (and not understand why they shouldn't).
  16. Around 8-9 am - when the kids get up. :)
  17. I do it myself usually, I don't like depending on other services for some reason.
  18. That's a good idea. At our old house, we were a good 45 min (not including BAD traffic) from the bigger stores. I am so glad we live in the city now!
  19. Stroller - seriously. They are smaller than carts of course but handier for carrying items and you have a few spots to put stuff (in the seat, on the sun shade if it's strong enough and in the bottom basket). I only figured out the unique uses for strollers when I've been out alone having to shop with my three kids..
  20. When I worked at Sears, we PM'd on BF as long as you had ad in hand & item was *exactly* like one in ad (just like Walmart).
  21. Some people react to BF like they do coupons - they can't be bothered with saving money.
  22. Huh, there's little mention of actual BF deals, more about what the retailers have let out of the bag themselves.. still, the vague mention of BF sites in their article makes me want to ask them for their sources.
  23. My boys will be three tomorrow - for Christmas we talked about the play vacuums, also anything SpongeBob or Dora.
  24. If Sears had the item I REALLY wanted, then I'd get in line a bit earlier for that GC, yes. But I won't pass up an item at another store for the GC at Sears, no. :)
