  1. Have you tried emailing the manufacturer? Email them to praise them and tell them why/how many you use, etc. A lot of mfg appreciate the time consumers take to write them and reply with coupons (via snail mail). :)
  2. I personally plan on doing a gift card in a gift basket.
  3. Good point, Brad, thanks! :) Ross - I kinda hit 23 a few days ago and steadied out, so I bet I'll stay around that now, lol. :) iiiisix - How did you find the forums? I initially found them through Google, so no one would have rec'd points for my signing up. Now if I had clicked a link on a forum elsewhere, there's a possibility it would have been a referral link..
  4. There are a lot of MP3 players that are just as user friendly IMO. I believe this thread was started to give options to the consumer not knowing which to buy quite yet.
  5. If it's a good deal and I *need* more than one, I buy as many as I am allowed too. Now normally I don't need more than one or two of the same item. If I needed five or more, I'd probably limit myself so others could have a stab at it. :)
  6. I'll try to explain this.. I've seen it on other sites. (Made up names to follow..) Mary sees the GottaDeal site on CNN's article. She types in the URL and decides to join the forums. When joining, she doesn't use a referral link of course. Since she does not, GottaDeal's site automatically credits one person a referral for Mary joining. The site does this randomly for each person who joins withOUT a referral link. To add to this.. GottaDeal only gives a referral credit to people with 50 or more posts (aka somewhat active users at least). Those with less posts cannot receive referral credit from a random person joining (they can only receive referral credit IF they give their referrer link out to others of course). Credit = GottaPoints of course. Make sense? I hope so. But then again, maybe admin doesn't want to give out GottaPoints that easily.
  7. We have this one and I wish I could say my review would be good.. but ours drops our settings constantly. DH's PC is supposed to be the main one, but my laptop takes over all of the time, thus losing our settings. No reason why it happens, just does. Linksys took some prodding from us to acknowledge this was a problem for *some* people (not many, but it does happen with some of their routers they said.. not enough for a recall though). They didn't offer anything though. We are getting a new one (different model at least) sometime.
  8. Exactly what I am doing! I am not even thinking about where to go first, second, etc.. until I see the electronic store ads.
  9. 24 hour Walmart's generally don't let you TOUCH the BF stuff until 5am (or whatever time they choose).
  10. GottaPoints just started in the last couple of months. :)
  11. I imagine I'll be at the first store 1.5 hours early.
  12. A lot of people leave their lights up all year long and just turn them on during the holidays. :)
  13. I agree, check with a DM if you can even (and get his/her name) and check again and again.. they can and will change their policies when ever they can.
  14. Hopefully not, but that could change if I ever get a job. :)
  15. We alternate - Whoever we go see on Thanksgiving, we go see the opposite people on Christmas Day and we switch off every year.
  16. I did a personal calendar for the Grandparents a couple of years ago. I think I went to Kinko's? They turned out pretty good but I'm not sure it was worth $20 per calendar. I could have done it cheaper probably, just not as quickly though. When I was little, a teacher of mine did a personal mug on Mother's Day and Father's Day for the parents.. she did it for each student. They are still holding up well. I always wondered if she paid for them out of pocket (probably) or not.
  17. I share most everything I get for the kids before I wrap them. DH likes to know. :)

    picture people

I haven't, but I have seen some cute pics come from them. Not sure on pricing though. I personally prefer someone who has been around longer.. like Sears. But we have only used local photographers so far with our kids anyway.
  19. We do this as well. We gift our IL's animals (two cats), my parents animals (one cat, two dogs) and our animals. It's usually just little things anyway. :)
  20. I don't think it's wrong either unless it looks used and the person you are gifting isn't into that sort of thing (I personally don't mind some used items, depending on what they are). Anyway, I don't remember doing it..

    Saint Nick's Day

I too have never heard about this! We always just did the stockings on Christmas Eve (filled them then, let others see what is in theirs Christmas morn).
  22. We usually go to my IL's or my parents house. It's almost always turkey!

    christmas music

I cannot get myself to listen to Christmas music. Even when it comes on radio stations, I turn it. No idea as to why, I like similar music but not themed music like that.
  24. I can honestly not remember a "crap" gift (as someone put it). There are things I've liked more than others, yes, but nothing I just never used/didn't like. Usually the few that do buy for me (my parents, FIL/SIL and my DH; that's the extent of my family) know what I want/would use. :)
  25. I never asked, I kinda just assumed he wasn't real around a certain age (late grade school? No idea!).
