  1. I definitely think that lottery thing is crap as well, I hate that system. That said, some Targets open at different times depending on location. For instance, if they open here at 6am, I'd be there at 1-2am. You can always rest in your car until the line starts (unless it already has of course). At another two years ago, they had some fantastic deal (forget what) and I got there at 4am (they opened at 6). There was about 40 people in line already.
  2. I'm in Oregon - actually pretty close to RossMAN and MrsHoneybee, but I don't think anyone else is near??
  3. Hmm, the link didn't work for me - but Google alerted me to the same story and here's a different link: http://www.theindychannel.com/holidays/5255372/detail.html
  4. It ticks me off when people break the "rules". You can see the hurt and just being ticked off in others faces when they too see these people. I just really feel for the people opening the doors. Not a job I would want to do at all.
  5. Our kids get one from Santa each and then a couple from us. :) We wrap them all.
  6. It's happened to me, I just look for the item elsewhere over the coming days usually.
  7. Ditto. I go through the ads each year but I need more time than just a day or two to figure out what is worth it, where I need/want to go, etc.
  8. Try Epinions.com. Depending on your budget, the best seats made are by Britax. Evenflo Triumphs are some of the nicest ones as well if Britax's are too expensive (as they average $200+ usually). I don't recommend the Cosco Alpha Omega's. Yes, you can transition them into the booster seat feature it has - but if you look at the reviews (and Consumer Reports), the safety ratings when they are in the booster seat phase are very poor. We bought our twins two Evenflo convertibles for $100 each. They stayed in those from 5 months until two years, then transitioned into booster seats (due to height) with five pt harnesses. The boosters were $50 each. BabyAge.com has some good deals usually and price matches as well. They offer shipping on anything in their store for $5.95 as well and sometimes have coupon codes available. :)
  9. We get the morning chores done (diapers changed, breakfasts made/eaten, etc) and then start opening presents. Usually DH and I are up first and have to wait until one of the kids wakes (around 8-9). LOL.
  10. Mine aren't old enough to make their own lists yet (3, 3, and 1). But they will each get one to three gifts from us (we spend about $40 total per child). Not sure what we are getting them this year yet though. Eeks.
  11. Depending on the amt, I may be in. I am doing this on another board. A card exchange would be neat as well. :)
  12. Title says it all - who is the hardest person in your family (or friends) to shop or? Who is the easiest?
  13. No. I absolutely will not take more than I need. It drives me nuts to see items appear on eBay that I genuinely wanted to buy for someone (like the dress at Target this past summer for my DD.. a lady came up and grabbed them all (on clearance) and I just happened to look for that dress on eBay that night.. some person in my SAME city had listed a few of them for double the price.. all I wanted was one dress.. sheesh). But I've never even done it to trade. I'd guess most of the time you won't run into a person wanting to trade, then you have to off the item before you hit checkout.. it's just another headache IMO. LOL.
  14. My DH loves football and hockey - a couple of items I thought of, tickets to a hockey game (would also be "date night" for us), and clothing. He likes the Packers (though they stink right now, lol), so something like turtlenecks with a tiny logo on them or something of that sort he would wear.
  15. Did you know about this one? I didn't see it on the page listing media appearances unless I am blind (which is possible). Not a huge write up, but a mention of the site. As well as various other ones, not big time news sources but sites that probably copied and/or got the idea from CNN's story.. like this site: http://futurewire.blogspot.com/2005/11/website-leaks-discounter-deals-for.html Link here: http://www.wofl.com/news/links.shtml Okay, I am obsessed with Google, sorry.
  16. Sometimes their B&M price is different than their online price. I've been watching a few items and one item dropped online but not in store for a few weeks.
  17. Usually rarely used registers are of course opened on BF, but most people have discovered them by the time I have my items. It really depends on the store and the layout IMO. But even five min after the store opens, I have my items and am at the registers - there's at least 5-10 people in each line.. no matter where in the store I go.
  18. Alone.. I kinda want shop with someone else, but anyone I would shop with thinks I'm nuts and wouldn't go.

    Gift Room for BF

I'll probably store this years gifts in my DD's closet (she's one, she doesn't go in her closet.. yet, lol). Last year in our old house, it was the closet in our bedroom. :)
  20. I have a chance! Woo, I need a shirt now.
  21. I go to Target for most of the clothes for my kids. All three of mine are almost wearing the same size this year. But I can find khakis and turtlenecks for my twins for around $8/piece usually, give or take a few bucks.
  22. Froogle listing for Tumble Time Tigger Unless you can find a coupon code for one of the other stores that makes it cheaper (even w/ shipping), Walmart is cheapest so far... :)

    Steve and Barry's

I've never heard of them either. The deal is great though it sounds like and really nice of them to do. :)
  24. $100 gift card (haha, funny since it'd be for me anyway..) to Old Navy or TJ Maxx - I need work clothes baddddd.
