I volunteered with Toys 4 Tots last year, probably again this year. I went through their site and contacted my local chapter. I usually get 2-3 tags off of the tree each year and give extras as well. And I send holiday cards to most anyone I can - it's amazing what a nice piece of mail does for someone. :)

Does WM let you PM an item after you bought it? I have no idea.. I don't PM often. Or do they even carry it? Maybe I'll buy it there and then take in the BF ad when I get it.. ?

We buy one big item (or two medium items) and then 2-3 small items, that is IT. (This is per child) When I was little, this is how my parents worked it as well. I refuse to get caught up in the millions of gifts for my kids and claim that's how it has to be for them or else. LOL.

I am kind of doubting BF will provide retailers a reason to discount much on these, sadly. Retailers discount SLR's based on what new SLR is coming out usually, how long the current SLR has been out, etc. If you buy online, just make sure to check out the merchant through http://www.bizrate.com first. A lot of online merchants (not well known ones) will strip down the camera of the basic *necessities* to make it such a good price. B&H Photo is a good site. Good luck! STRANGE? Something maybe your spouse thought you were weird for wanting/requesting? What is it? DH thinks I'm odd - I want a vacuum (our current one .. well, it doesn't suck as well as I'd like it too!) and I want snail mail sweepstake supplies - postage stamps, 3x5 index cards, business sized envelopes, pretty pens, etc. I enter sweeps online but would love to enter snail mail sweeps if I got the supplies.

DH started a new job after 14 years at the old one. He just got his first bonus at any job (as well as a raise in 5 years!) three weeks ago. Sadly, he isn't due up for another one until the month after Christmas.

I have worked BF in the past. We were told if we called in, we had to be on our death beds or someone else in our family had to be on their death bed.. they were nice but strict. You didn't dare call in unless you were SICK or in the hospital. That said, I enjoy working BF. I hope to be doing it again this year.

TRU definitely. I'd donate a lot of the stuff I got, give some to my kids and sell some as well maybe.
