If you get to any store at 5:30am, it's probably too late for big items like cameras, laptops, etc. Those are usually limited (esp the laptops) and people get in line HOURS before opening. It's worth a shot though. But if the store opens at 6 and you get there half an hour before, you'll probably see hundreds upon hundreds already in line - depending on the location of the store and the store itself. :)

I don't give people a hard time, but I personally don't like to decorate this early! I wait until after Thanksgiving. :)

Oh, that sounds interesting. I think we'll still borrow the neighbors ladder to hang ours though.. I have yet to hang lights on this house, I need to inspect and see how easy (hopefully) it'll be. Our last house was a PITA to hang them!

If both stores open at the same time (well, even with a few hours of one another I guess), I'd go to the one first that will save you the most money. You could also recruit someone (husband? or someone) to hit the other store for you, maybe!

It's not being deceptive, justbarbour is correct IMO. They change the sales around like any other retailer quite often. So I may find X item for $10 now, but it may be $15 on BF, yet a few days ago it may have been $7. It's their way of drawing people in and making money = their two main goals. :) This isn't what retailers sometimes do (and is legal), which is price fixing - they say, "Here's the best sale ever X item for $24.99!" when it was $24.99 regularly in the first place but they claim it was $29.99.

Yes, it should work on the self checkouts. :) I haven't tried this yet (no time today), but I hope to sometime this week.

My twins are three and daughter is one - candy, little toys (cars, tiny dolls..), and other such items. I am trying not to gift my children with clothing as I remember being disappointed as a child with that sort of thing, lol.

Well, you are supposed to pay taxes on anything you make, but you are more likely to have the IRS (and state) come after you if they find out you make $600+. I guess anything under that isn't worth their time. Ashley - I've found a few random merchandising jobs on Monster, also on our states unemployment web site. :)

I suggest buying just one soup at the beginning and seeing what comes out. If nothing, then don't do it again of course. But if you get one, then go load up your cart and find a cashier that is nice and is willing to do a few individual purchases for you to do this deal. I have never had a problem going through the line over and over for such deals, it's fine to do! :)

Australia - used to have a friend that lived there. Now the farthest we send gifts is to Virginia, DH's dad and stepmom live near the naval base. :)

I have enjoyed it in the past. Yes, it's nuts and you have your fair share (plus some!) of the rude customers. But all around it's a pretty fun experience and it goes by quickly!!

I am feeling a bit overwhelmed, yes. I was hoping to drag DH out with me but that won't be possible I've learned. I can't take my best friend (cousin) as she just started at Target, so she must work BF! I may drag my Mom out with me, not like she'll object though. Even if I go alone, it will be nice. But I am feeling overwhelmed already and I haven't even seen the one ad I really want (Circuit City).

I saw that McD's too late as well. I never thought about how you technically make money off of it. And to think next year postage will be more, but it should still be a good deal. :)
