  1. Walmart never post anything past 50% here until several days after it hits 75%. I usually go in 2 or 3 days after christmas and scan things. If one comes up 75% off then I know thats what it is even though the sign still says 50.
  2. Yes, but you might also get a second charge on your credit card.
  3. Well if it was in Louisville, they probably would not find it. It is UPSs largest hub. 2,000,000 packages per day or so. One other little tip I hope no one ever has to use. If you package is damaged or destroyed, you ask for overgoods. Thats were those boxes go. No sure how large your town is, but you could also ask for the manager for your "center" (oversees your particular city it the hub if it serves several cities) ie I would ask for the manager over Haltom City.
  4. Granted Amazon should have gotten the package to them on Friday the 16th, but they didn't. No matter what time it would have gotten there on Saturday, or Sunday it would not have mattered. UPS does not process any ground packages on the weekend. They sit their until ealy Monday at 12am, or Sunday evening around 8pm depending on the sort schedule at that hub. I am sure Amazon was assured by UPS that if they got their packages to them by a certain date they would be delivered in time. Anyway neither should blame each other as that only hurts the customer. Either company or both should have stepped up and admitted the mistake. If it were up to me and I worked at Amazon I would have refunded your order and issued a credit = to that amount to be used in the future. If I worked at UPS I would have given your a coupon to ship a future order anywhere free of charge. You still would not have been happy, but you would be a little more satisfied. Lastly in the future, if you are trying to find a package at UPS, call the local hub, and ask to be connected to the feeder Manager. He oversees all the trucks that are there. He will know which truck it was in, and if it had been unloaded. Even if it had not been scanned there is a record of which truck is from where so they will know. If its full and not unloaded there is little hope, but chances are it might have been and its there somewhere. If it's early enough they might unload the truck anyway to satisfy you but not likely.
  5. Well you ordered on the 15th, and they shipped it on Monday the 19th. That sounds reasonable. UPS on the other hand taking 5 days is not. I would not fault Amazon as much as I would UPS. With that said I think Amazon should give you more than $5.00 for your trouble as I expect the will get more $$ from UPS for failure to honor commitments. Glad it worked out though.
  6. It used to be 33% off on Christmas eve ie Saturday. Depending on the manager, sometimes they would download the 50% late christmas eve about 7 or 7:30pm right before they closed. I would go after 7 if you can on Sat and scan a few things and see.
  7. 58-62 during the winter, and about 84-85 when I'm home, 88 when I'm not during the summer. I hate high energy bills. Highest gas $25 highest electric (ac) $50. Every year the price goes up, and my thermostat goes down lol.
  8. TO ANYONE IN DALLAS, TX 75240 the valley view circuit city store shows to have it in stock. You might want to check it out.
  9. Or Spirit (the had $20 round trip fairs to florida for january from DFW).
  10. Why southwest. Most airlines charge about the same price and give better service. Anyway its not the price you should worry to much about this far in advance, its the number of seats. If it comes to a month away and they still have 40 open seats, then the price will come down. I would check the available seats, and keep watching prices until they start filling up. You might also put a bid in on priceline if you still have not bought your ticket by mid March and the plane still has several seats.
  11. Well Home Depot in my area, teamed up with one of those exchange a tank places, and now has tanks of 3 or 4 sizes than contain variuous welding gases. You can buy tanks as well as exchange. I think that may be what he wants if he is using it for welding. If he really plans to use propane?? make sure that garage is well ventilated.
  12. Kohls has the classic mixer on sale today for $169.95 and 15% with the Kohls card. If your a senior citizen, since its Wednesday I think you get 15% off of that as well. I could be wrong though, but if its true, $169.95-25.49-21.66=$122.80 which is a steal for this mixer.
  13. Anyone in the Fort Worth, TX area, sears at Northeast mall has several returned "ie used" camecorders for under $150. These are digital ones also. They had one mini dv one for $107. Almost bought it. Thought I'd pass it along.
  14. Wow $4.50 just to remove it from the shelf and put it in a bag. No thanks. If I wanted to pay that much I'd have it shipped. If I could use the code multiple times on one purchase I might do it.
  15. You never know whats defective do you. I bought a cheap mini stereo from radio shack a month or so ago. Used it 3 hours and it died. Pissed me off because I work at the airport, and its not that easy to get one through security. Worked out well though becuase when I took it back, the did not have anymore, so they sold me the new model for half off. Its alot better. Thats one reason I hate buying any electronics on BF. If something does happen and they don't have any, normally your sol and all you get is your money back. You lost all that time you waited in line. Luckly what I bought was just on clearance and they let me get the new one. Did have to make 3 trips though as the first store sold me one they did not have, and then when I finally got one it broke. Oh well.
  16. I have enough batteries to last 20 years. I got a whole box of miscellanious batteries free when my Kmart closed 2 years ago. I also have many boxes of 3 light bulbs, and sets of 3 glasses, and a 3/4 set of dishes. My favorite though was my $100 tfal pot and pan set for $5.00 as one lid was warped.
  17. Anyone who ever worked at Kmart knows what this is. For those that don't, it is damaged merchandise, or store displays, or old stock the store has gotten credit on and is almost giving away. If you still have a Kmart (I don't) ask and see if they will tell you where it is (alot of times they keep it on a cart in the back). You might have to find the right person as alot of employees won't acknowledge that it exists because they want to buy it themselves. Examples of how cheap the stuff is, I bought a $200 computer desk for $10, and a $40 deep fryer for $3, and a case of damaged boxes of kleenex for $.25 each. I always had 23 or 32 roll packages of toliet paper for $1.00 or $2.00 etc. IF you go to Kmart keep and eye out for this and you can score some great deals.
  18. There is some truth to that. If there is no competition Walmart would raise prices because it could. If the raised them to much, then a competitor would move in and they would go back down. So I doubt they would vary more than 10% or so. I guess Kmart much have changed its Layaway policy probably because of all the abuse. Used to you could click on one key and all the prices would change to the lower price. People always bought seasonal merchandise and waited till it went on clearance, and then had the price changed which to me is borderline on fraud. And yes employees do buy all the good merchandise before it goes out to the floor. I have my collection of starting lineups and Treasure hunt hotwheel cars to prove it lol.
  19. It seems like Costco has the best return policy. Electronics 6 months, forever on everything else. And I like the way Fry's electronics, and most auto parts stores around here do it better. They put your name and phone # (made up a phone #) in the computer and then keep track of what you bought, and when. That way if you do lose your receipt they still have a record of it. Cuts down on Fraud tremendously. No receipt, no record, you must have bought it else where.
  20. I buy everything with a credit card. That way if I ever have any problems returning it, or if its a gift and they have trouble I just call the cc company and they take care of it. Most cards also have insurance in case your gifts get stolen, and they will refund your money.
  21. My samsclub has a 32" tv with and HD tuner for $400. It has been repaired though. Maybe by next CHRISTMAS stores will have a large selection of true hdtvs in that price range. It seems they are about 40% cheaper than last year and I'm hoping the same holds true for next year.
  22. My bank charges $25, and my organizations sell them as fund raisers ie boosterclubs, bands, etc. and I would rather spend a few $$s more to help them out if I was buying it anyway.
  23. My walmart has maybe 10 different models of tvs from 23-32" with or without dvd players stacked up everywhere. I see a big tv clearance soon. No true HDTVs though or I might consider buying one. My next big purchase is most likely a color laserjet as they have gotten less than $300 for a really good one or a b&w for less than $100. At those prices its almost cheaper to buy a new printer that to buy toner.
