  1. I don't see using a gc to buy another one as illegal, unethical perhaps, but not illegal. If the store is dumb enough to do it and someone wants to cheat the system so be it.
  2. I understand people buying gift cards with a stolen cc, but unless they use it right away, if the cc comes back stolen, can't they deactivate the gift card or put up a red flag at the register when redeemed? And what is the difference between a $50 pair of Jeans or a gift card? If you purchase either with a stolen cc it is still the same loss to the store.
  3. If they don't, are you going to pull the plug? Sorry I couldn't resist.
  4. I wonder if you bought the gift card with a credit card if you would have any protection? Could call the cc company and say hey I bought this bought they won't honor it? That might be one way to try to get some money back. Personally I think its fraud and think it should be illegal. You paid for x number of dollars of merchandise in advance, and you should be able to receive the merchandise anytime you wish. Heck the store gets your money interest free till you use it anyway.
  5. A lot of stores shred the rest of the magazines so you can't just get them out of the dumpster. You can usually get books though.
  6. If you want to know what you can buy online, click on the "dial-up html" button. That will make the ad smaller and will list the items on the right hand side. Some will have a buy online button and some will not. I assume the ones that say buy online you can buy for that price online once the sale starts. I wish these were actual sale prices instead of after rebate.
  7. Candy always goes 1/2 off, and sometimes you can find it at 75% off if there is any left. This is the way I buy all of my candy. I always buy one season behind. Same candy different bag.
  8. Hey thats my spot. Don't take my items while your in the dresser. And leave me some room. Don't forget about putting items behind similar items that are not on clearance.
  9. Well I had 3 items ring up wrong yesterday. One was actually less than it should have been. The two that rang up higher I got for free. Of course they were only .98 anyway.
  10. Well Dallas won. Yaaaaaaaah. Best starting record ever. I would have tried rabbit ears if I were you. You should have been able to pick up 27 100 miles away I think.
  11. Wouldn't it be cheaper or free maybe for the companies just to let sites like gottadeal post their ads instead of hiring newspaper to run them, and printers to print them? Granted they might loose some business, but I think they would gain more new business, than what they could loose.
  12. Depends on the store, and the manager. I know Kmart used to mark Halloween down to 10 cents a couple of week after Halloween, and Christmas down to 25 cents. You just never know. PS YMMV, but check the regular candy aisle and scan a few bags to see if they are 75% off. You would be amazed at what you find. I do this every year, and always find a couple marked down. No one ever thinks to look there. This year at Target, I found Butter Fingers, and Reese PB cups for $.52 there even though the sign clearly said they were on sale for $2.
  13. It might take some work, but I say lets pick apart these ads and post a list of which products can be purchased online within a few $s of the BF price, and who sells its. Then we would not have to post the ads, nor support the store on BF. Maybe then they would get the hint. It would really show the stores, if 11am came, and the "doorbusters" were still sitting there waiting to be bought, and the online stores were all sold out. Just because we have the ads does not mean we have to post them. We could just post the products, prices, and where online to buy them. Then what could they do? Instead of free advertising for themselves, they would get free advertising for their competitors.

You can ask someone. It might take two or three people before you find someone who will tell you where it is, if they have it. Off topic, but Kmart does something similar with merchandise. The call it 605 and its damaged items or displays. Some stores will admit to it, and some won't. If you can get someone to let you in on the secret, you can get some great buys.
  15. Yes, but if you have 60 days, and get the ad early enough and they sell that product everyday, you might can buy it before the realize they need to pull it.
  16. Just did a quick search online and found it for as little as $2499 without much effort. With the large markup in Plasma tvs they could afford to sell it at that price and not lose any money. Heck sell a few cable and they make money. I guess they would rather upset a bunch of people. If you really want that tv I guess you could try getting a PM at another store like Sears.
  17. Thanks. Used the new code to book 2 nights in Vegas in October for $21. I am using my $50 thrifty coupons so my car is only $12. I work for AA so my airfare is free. Me and my father will have a nice couple of days for practically nothing.

We used to have one in Denton, TX but if it still exists, they won't let anyone back there now. I used to buy all kinds of stuff. I got a vacuum for $50, and a beat up window unit for my aunt at 90% off. They would almost give stuff away back there. I got my washer for over 1/2 as well. Sadly, I think it went away a couple of years ago.
  19. Wow!! Only two. I have 5 within 10 minutes of me, and within 20 minutes I can't count that high. They are literally every 5 miles here. I have not noticed any set pattern to WM except that they seem to mark down once a month on everything but electronics, and its the first week of the month. Electronics sit forever. Sometimes they give stuff away, and sometimes its $1.00 off. I think prices are more competitive based than anything here.
  20. Well I checked at my Kroger, and they were not on sale, and they did not have the coupons either. Oh well. I did win $5 on scratch off lotto tickets while I was there so it wasn't a total loss.
  21. Strange. I'm in Texas, and it stays warm here year round give or take a week here and there. I guess if you live in Miami or Hawaii I could see that maybe. Different stores I guess have the leadway to mark down how they want. Some stuff I see on clearance in other areas are never on sale here. Target is the only store I know of that puts this stuff on clearance. Walmart sells it year round as does Lowes and Home Depot. I guess they don't have enough space to display it. Its funny though because there are two grills, one a cheap propane grill and the other a weber charcol model, that are not on sale. And there are some grill accessories at 30% off and some at reg price. Lawn chairs have been 75% and have not moved. I guess if they go to 90% I might buy some as they must have 30 left. And here you are supposed to apply weed killers and fertilizer in the winter as well. Go figure.
  22. Our school stuff was 30% off in Texas today. I picked up several bottles of weed killer at 75% off. To anyone in Fort Worth, the Target on W 7th street near downtown has an Aussie grill, and two thermos charcole grills at 75% off
  23. That makes sense to me. Schools do not even start until next week here. I would think they would mark down faster now though since they are marking down later. Halloween is only two months away and I would think they need the room.
  24. I used to like Sears, but I hate the last mower I bought there. I had it in for repairs under warranty several times for a gas leak, and it still is not fixed. What ever is left in the tank after I mow leaks out. Here lately it misses and hardly runs, and it has brand new gas I just bought. I think this year I'm replacing it with a Honda or something at Homedepot when the go on clearance.
