Can it be used on BF also? That would be a good deal.

Nordstrom's and Neiman Marcus sometimes have great sales. I found a pair of pants cheaper at Neiman Marcus than at Walmart one year. The only have sales 2 or 3 times a year though when the seasons change, and they rarely go more than 60% off. Not sure of your definition of classy stores, but Dillards always has the best buys although not on BF. After winter in January, or Summer late August almost all clothes are 75% off and this year it was 75% + 30%. I buy all my clothes there and have never spent more than $20 on a shirt, and got several for less than $10. Thes are $60+ shirts. No pun intended, but I guess the forum auto-edits your post.

Well on some things like tvs that have a low margin 10% off might be better. Or on things you want that are not already on sale. I have 4 new best buys opening close by, only 1 is close enough to shop at, and have 3 10% coupons, but I don't need anything. My question on these "hot" deals is what happens when its defective. What if your $149 computer or $999 plamsa tv is doa? It happens. Do you give you another item, or are you sol since its a one time deal? Anyone ever had it happen?

Don't forget to ask about discounts for whom you work for. Sometimes you may qualify for a big discount and not even know. For example, UPS, American Airlines, Boeing, Lucent, IBM, GM, Ford are all 25% off the mrc every month just for working there. All they ask for is the address, phone number, and a supervisor's name. They don't verify it hint hint.

In my Sears normally the eye glass entrance is open for before the store actually is. I think its used as an employee entrance. I have not tried on BF before, but on days they had big sales I just went in that door 5 min before the store opened to beat the crowd and no one noticed. Hope its open on BF too.

It never hurts to try. If you thought they looked the same, maybe Sears will to. The worst they can do is say no they are different items. It will be so busy on BF they probably won't even give it a second look.

How many threads to we need on this topic?

Sprint will normally give you $75 off the purchase of a new phone if you have had it 12-18 months, or $150 off for 18+ months. I am not sure if its change since I left in September, the merged with Nextel and may have changed things, but thats the way it had been for 2 years. Just call Sprint and ask for CEU. They will connect with the corporate end user department and people there will help you alot better. That is where I worked, and we could basically do what ever we wanted. The "regular" customer service line is really restricted on what they can and cannot do.

IT will certainly be $398 or less in TEXAS with all the competition WM has. If not Walmart will lose all its BF to competiors. Besides if the inventory sticker lists a price on it, Walmart almost always will sell it to you at that price if you point it out. I think, but am not certain, that its illegal to put a price on a product, and then charge a higher price.

If its a two day sale, then they should PM or else alot of people will be returning and rebuying. If the add does not specifically state limited to stock on hand for that item, then they will raincheck it. On a side note, if you have a 24hour Kmart in your area go at 12am on BF. The computer downloads the ads everynight at midnight, or ealier if the store chooses. That way you can beet the crowds and still get your items. It might work at other stores to, but I have not tried.

Most stores do not do price adjustments for "doorbusters" or limited quantity items. Correct me if I am wrong, but Target is having a two day sale on items you can buy everyday, or days other than the days they are on sale ie right now. Therefore there should be no problem getting a price adjustment. If it was a 5 hour sale then most likely not. Besides the worst thing that can happen is they refuse the adjustment, and you return it, and buy it back again.

Heck if I was Starbucks I'd give it away free. Great advertising free of charge. So it cost $100 in coffee, but they would gain some very happy customers I'm sure. What better way to advertise that 400 people walking around town with a Starbuck's cup in hand?

I have to admit so far I'm a scrooge. 100% of my list is for me. So far I only have about 4 or 5 items though, but there from 3 different stores lol. At least there all close by.

Its only a good deal if its 50% or more off regular price. Closer to 75% is better. Why? Because all store Christmas merchandise has a 50 - 75% margin and BF deals are loss leaders. If you can't find a good tree 1/2 this year wait till after christmas and then buy one. The you can get a really good tree for a cheap tree price.

Never seen that before, but I wonder why not. With all the people around on BF why do fast food places not run sales from oh 11pm to 3am on BF to intice customers to come in. Makes since to me. Thousands of people waiting in line all night might get hungry lol. I hope the one's that are not 24hrs are at least smart enough to open. I know across the street from my BB and Circuit City is a Mcds.

I'll check if I can remember when I get back to work since I work for an airline.

Does target not have any early bird specials? The ad scans are only for 2 day sale items.
-
I didn't know they still had those. Been many years since I played with those.
-
LOL That would be fun to see. Not as much fun as if the store waxed the floor the night before, but lawyers prevent that. Or how about if it freezing, hozing down the side walk.
-
I have often wondered why stores do not do that. The could print up two totally different ads. Then no one would really ever know what was on sale. Glad they don't though.
-
That don't work at my Walmart. You must get there at least 2 hours early, and put what ever you want in your cart before someone else grabs it. Shrinkwrap don't stop no one here.

I worked it a couple of times at Kmart many years ago. I didn't mind it, but we had a fairly small store. The busiest day I ever had as a cashier was on friends and family night $9200, and it came up accurate to the penny. Boy was the manager impressed.
