  1. Strange, I ordered from them in the past and never had a problem. I guess maybe they have gone downhill since then?
  2. Going to Europe for no particular reason than I just feel like going. Don't have family, very uncomfortable hanging out at friends as I feel like I am crashing their family get together (though the last few years I popped in for an hour or so at each place).
  3. This Thursday a Gold Box deal on PS3 . http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/12/amazons-weekend-game-deals-all-ps3-goldbox-next-thursday/
  4. Not a huge movie fan but as a guy who is close to 30 yrs old I can say most of the movies/chick flicks listed above I would not want to watch. Some of those movies would scare a bf away!
  5. I'd vote but I have not seen most of these movies! Sorry not a movie person. What's worse is of the ones I have seen I only like two. The rest I detest greatly.... As far as missing movies goes... Yes Virginia There is a Santa Claus should be on the list. O! and the Muppet X-mas movies. The one where all the Muppets get together and the Sesame Street one where Bert trades his paper clips for a soap dish for Ernies rubber duckie and Ernie trades in his rubber duckie for a box for berts paper clips.

    gift cards

Saw this link but the stores are not near me. At least they are accepting CC gift cards there though. http://jacksonville.bizjournals.com/jacksonville/stories/2008/12/08/daily12.html?ana=yfcpc
  7. Hooray for random acts of kindness!!
  8. Walmart has a package deal http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10746115 You do need a hard drive http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=209761135
  9. Very cool
  10. Not a rap fan but I suggest MC Hammer and the Christmas Rap CD by Run D.M.C Sugar Hill Gang (Rappers Delight) and GrandMaster Flash (adventures of Grandmaster flash) are not bad either
  11. LOL. I have two places. One in Santa Barbara County and one in Ventura County. Handed out 3 more cards today. $10 gas card to a stressed out waitress who just dealt with a table full of rude people! $5 subway card to someone who let someone cut in front of them in line. $10 BB card to someone who put back an item they did not want in the right place where they originally got it from. One of these days I want to take a car and drive around the USA all during December and hand out gift cards for those doing kind things.
  12. I was watching the news and they talked about this tonight. They said most shoppers they interviewed said they spent more on clothes and other needs on BF as opposed to years past. They planned to buy now when the prices were low. If this sample of people is accurate than the increase in spending on BF was due to good deals on clothes and other needs.
  13. Much thanks, handing out gift cards to random people who are doing the right thing is my favorite part about the holidays!!! I figure if people can still behave in kind manner, have a smile on their face and do the right thing (picking up trash, returning a shopping cart, holding the door open for others, saying please and thank you...etc) despite the stress of the holidays they deserve to be rewarded. ** So if you see a guy with a santa hat on all over So. Cal handing out gift cards that is probably me * *
  14. $20 on myself. Just don't see anything I really want this holiday. Had a few items on BF but felt greedy and miserable. Gave them to other shoppers who really wanted them instead. Did get my first batch of random gift cards ($200 worth of gas, food, BB, Target..etc) to hand out for random acts of kindness and found 2 people today. :) Gift exchange with friends has been canceled as the majority are without jobs due to economy. Don't have family either.
  15. Apples and Oranges! You can NOT compare an incident like a drive by shooting and robbery to something like what happened at Walmart. Walmart could have DIRECTLY controlled the situation unlike this fictitious robbery at BB. Don't tell me they had adequate precautions and were unaware of the size of the crowd. Also 3rd party security is not trained to handle a shootout and it would irresponsible for police them to shoot back into crowds of people. You are speculating. I know you hate Walmart which is OK. I've already posted my views on Walmart earlier and don't shop there. As far as the poor employees on food stamps they need to work harder or get a 2nd or 3rd job. Entry level jobs are to get experience and you move on to another job after a few years. Sorry no sympathy for them on my end. I came to the USA, made sure I was fluent in English (only Russian was spoke at home), after a few setbacks ended up with $75 to my name and lived out of an old car. Collected cans, returned shopping carts to stores for $$, with that $$$ got a prepaid cell (so i could be called back by employers), PO Box (address to put on application for a job) and 24 hour gym membership (to shower and clean up) and applied for jobs. Worked 3 jobs and spent what little free time I had at the library and started a dot com business. The business made money and I quit 2 of the entry level jobs I had. I sold the business and had enough to get myself back on my feet and am doing quite well (semi-retired) but starting up my 3rd business venture. Never once took a handout, never got benefits from my employers, never once took gov't assistance. This is the short version of my story but the point is if some average guy like me can do it anyone can. I'm not smarter or better than anyone else just have a good work ethic and refuse to give up and accept a bad situation.
  16. GameCrazy should have it. They also will contact other stores that have it in stock and get it sent to their store. I've bought a few rare games for gifts that way.
  17. HUH? What deal was this? Not like I have one near me (Sports Chalet and Dicks are the only ones near me) but that sounds like a good deal getting $100 for showing up! I would have got some fishing gear!
  18. I agree, it was a valuable resource. Even though I only spent $25 on BF cause I did not see any good deals I wanted.... But to put a positive spin on it this means it gives me a reason to hang around here past BF to find some decent deals.
  19. Very tacky on Walmarts part. I wonder if they paid the employees during the temp. shutdown? Then why didn't the above work? Of course they hired temp holiday staff so does everyone else, yes they should work closely with the police after the tragic incident. I just wonder if this 3rd party security was decent. My cousin was a 3rd party security, had no experience or training, he never patrolled, talked on his cell all the time ...etc Nothing wrong with a mad dash but make it controlled, whether it is allowing X amount of people in the store at once, not hiding the merchandise in the store, keeping all lanes clear of items, putting away the lawn and garden merchandise to make room for the BF deals. Allowing more than a few doors to be opened, encouraging more online sales on BF, hiring a real security firm and paying the extra to do it. I am sure Walmart can afford decent security with all the money they make from BF. It know it is easy to Monday morning QB (or in this case Saturday morning QB) but just my two kopecs. Before I get labeled as I Walmart basher. I have nothing personal against Walmart, I've owned their stock, I shopped at various stores in the past a few times and hated it. I'd just rather avoid Walmart. I'd rather shop elsewhere than save a few bucks. *** Looks like the Police are looking for those tramplers responsible http://apnews.myway.com/article/20081129/D94OJ4NG0.html Also the police are saying Walmart did not have enough security
  20. I agree. My cpu I use at home is about 7 years old. 256 RAM. 8 GB hard drive space. Can check email, go online with high speed, write college papers, put my travel photos on it, watch some media, play music...etc. Anything large I download (which is very rare) I put on a flash drive or burn to CD. I am not a gamer either (unless Bejeweled counts). I keep saying I am going to buy a new cpu or laptop one of these days (4 years now) but figure I'll buy a new one when the one I have no longer works. Just can't get excited about a CPU I guess.
  21. The BB I was at never mentioned the 349 laptop and only put up a sign moments before they opened and in store that the price was a misprint and they would not honor the price under any circumstances. I don't know much else other than there were loud people complaining about it in the store.
  22. Does not shock me as the EMPLOYEES at BB this morning were telling customers not to buy the Dynex doorbuster. They directed them to other Tvs or told them other floor models were for sale at a discount. Yes it is bad business but at least the employees were honest when they were asked if it was a good brand. ** WTH? Where was this? I mean were you the only car on the road so he felt the need to follow you 10 miles w/ his brights on?
  23. HEY! I was wondering where my doll went! (I kid I kid!)
