Why? Logic would dictate if they are at 20% off Blu-Rays last week then 12 days later they should be at least 30% off. Has nothing to do with BF discount sales and has more to do with increased discounts as the days pass.

I would guess CC as the one near me is being shut down and the Blu-Rays are 20% already. I figure by BF it should be far far cheaper.

I am not impressed either. I might end up at BB though based on my friend who has $100 to spend on BF (got laid off) and just wants something nice. I might just buy some flash drive for $20 at BB and spend the rest of my $$$ overseas when I am on vacation in late Dec/early Jan.

Switched to Metro PCS and LOVE it! I pay $45 (after taxes) for unlimited minutes and texting. A family plan (4) is $99 a month of unlimited minutes. Pros - cheap - nice phones - have the ringtones and bells and whistles - unlimited minutes - different plans (i.e: local calls only = $35, add $5 for long distance another 5 for texting...etc) - no contract Cons - service can be spotty at times (occasional dead zone) - Only major cities are in coverage area - phones are pricier than others (I paid $79 for my phone) - must pay bill online to avoid billing fees.

I agree. None of the current leaked ads excite me. If I find a nice deal on what I want before BF I will buy it and skip the standing in line thing or at least roll in around 6am. Though if I had someone to tag along I would consider standing inline but all my friends are hurting big time by the economy and just can't afford BF this year. Only other friend I am trying to convince to go but she is too scared to go.

Was there this weekend and nothing jumped out at me. Laptops were a mere 5% off. Video games were not really discounted at all. Blu-Rays seemed like a deal but I am not much of a movie guy. Though this British couple was going crazy and loading up on them. I'll return in a few weeks and hope to score some good deals. My tip is ask for the chairs and stuff from the employee break room! Yes the employees will be upset but the liquidators are quick to to sell that stuff it seems. I plan to return and ask for any and all empty DVD cases in the back. O! and cleaning supplies you can get for next to nothing. Filing cabinets you can get for $5 too. Got a GREAT deal at Linens and Things today: 3 flavor packs for my filtered water, 5 packs of staples (1250 count), a 3 ring binder, box of trash bags, 3 reams of paper, 5 packs of pink liquid soap, 2 plastic tubs, a grill set with only the tongs missing, 2 bottles of industrial cleaner and ummm a big box of band-aids and gauze all for the low low price of... *drum roll* $5.49 WOO HOOO!

Thanks, just got to make sure the model I buy is the same. The CC near me is closing for good. Now BB is the ONLY closest electronic store near me. I would have to drive to the next town over to go to Fry's.

Well the writing was on the wall. I question if I bought an item on BF there and it breaks/defective can I return it? This is another friend now that I know that lost their job this year due to the economy.

Could really use a new laptop but so far the ones I have seen are not what I need. From what I have read here and done my dd on the netbooks are NOT an option. I want one that can video edit, hold music, play a few games (nothing fancy) ..etc. Apple is also not an option as there are a few PC games I would like to play on the laptop. I am no CPU guru so hoping to get some good info here.

Well for example Zellers is selling a 32 inch LCD TV for $599 (add in GST and PST as well) I'm sure BF should have a better deal on TVs.

The share price means little as far as deals go as the shorts (I was one of them) were beating it down. Lots of factors why CC failed but nobody wants to hear my financial opinion. The Walmarts and other stores are not going to compete with BB as if you look at where the CC stores are located it's near a BB. Your average shopper (not your typical gotta dealer) won't drive farther to save some bucks. Hence why BB can now raise some prices as the customer can't just walk across the street to get a cheaper price

Odd i have not noticed anything different out here so far. Just a ton of X-mas stuff out on the shelves. (wrapping paper, bows, candles, fake trees...etc) But that started about a week ago but now its everywhere.

Traveling to a friends house not packing anything but an overnight bag. There was no option on the poll for that...

One year I had built up a nice (cant think of word) with the person inline near me and they helped me with an oversized item and putting it in my car. Just a thought.
