for that price, it is either an integrated graphics, or a super low card. DVI output is possible but unlikely, but the adapters are rather cheap if it does not and you are not buying a discrete graphics card. -
Hard drives on laptops now a days should be 250gb or larger, and except the 18yr old, 250Gb should be fine unless they are saving lots of music or movies to it.

If it is just online games, then yes. If it is games that are based on your computer that you join up online (think the newest Starcraft), maybe not. -

After all this time, my first shirt!!! -
If that is the case, then based on your budget you have a lot of new 5770 card options, may every once in a while find one of the new 6850 cards on sale. Now, the 6850 has performance on par with 5830, not the 5850, but new tech upgrades just to remember.

1. do you have a agp or a PCI-e connector? I know 9800 came in both. 2. are you looking new, or would you go used too? 3. Look here for some idea on info for ya. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-radeon-hd-6870-radeon-hd-6850,2782-3.html probably a 5770 if you have PCI-e http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125327 maybe step up to a 5850? even if it is used.... http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-100282-3SR/dp/B003D0IS3K/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1289789231&sr=1-4

cept for a possible laptop, I'm not seeing a lot worth going there for personally, and I can shop better laptop deals than this sometimes. On to Staples Ad!

Plain CC or , debit card. Of course as a debit card it is attached to your bank acount, but for the CC, all they want is your drivers license.

PS3 can be backward compatible, and if you have lots of PS2 games, it is probably your best buy. It also as they say does bluray, etc. If he is a gamer, xbox, if this is for more family friendly fun, probably the wii.

Cell phone for an 11 year old
nirvana4all replied to mmptysmom's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Very few of the people who I would let my daughter hang out with in that age group have their own cell phones. Many of the children have phones around here, but most are ones that do many questionable things with them (sexting, looking up questionable info, etc) and that is just what I hear them admit. If you are going to get one, esp. since it sounds as if you are on the fence, start with one that you can program in 2 or 3 numbers like yours, DH, etc, and that is who they can call. -
Was looking to give my daughter a bike, thought the one in the BF ad looked pretty decent, so went to check it out today. 16" Tangled/Rapunzel Bike was $20 off, and then a 25% off coupon on bikes brought it to $45 today, even cheaper than BF....I had to buy it, so if you guys want a bike, hop on it today and skip the line!!!

CPU comparison chart to help those of you who know little about the relative value of each processor. Each tier brings a small increase in performance from bottom to top. So, if for example you find a computer A with all the same features as computer B, at the same price, but one has a AMD Phenom X4 955 processor, and one only has a Core 2 Quad Q9300 you know that you will get more performance/$ out of the 955 computer...all other parts and prices being equal. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-gaming-cpu-upgradable-processor-phenom-ii-x6,2731-6.html -
Pretty much looks like I need a new phone. Stuck w/ ATT due to big family plan. Decided Samsung Captivate unless you know of a new Android phone I need to wait a few weeks for. Wirefly can get it to me w/ free battery and free backup for $70 due to my time to update & staying part of family plan. Anyone see it cheaper...as I said unless there is another great android phone coming to ATT soon that I dont know about.

It should be able to be, but at about $130 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231294&cm_re=ddr3-_-20-231-294-_-Product it would be overkill based on the video card and processor that is included.
-
Cheapest would likely be a portable player. Agree with freesia, good luck with $ and compatibility getting the bluray added into the laptop.
-
Given that you can pick up ram so cheaply, the install is so easy, it has a 64bit OS to utilize over 3GB, topped off with the fact that the video card is using shared memory; so any memory you add can go to the 1450mb total that video card can use and still leave plenty for your system. I think that my suggestion of a POSSIBLE cheap upgrade was warranted. You can probably pick up a 2GB stick for that laptop for $20 to $35 on amazon.com, forums.extremeoverclocking.com, etc. I was incorrect as you noted in thinking it had more than 2 ram slots. SORRY...

for a non waiting in line on BF deal, that is pretty decent. Cheap upgrade would be to go on newegg with a geek and buy 2 more 1GB sticks for the laptop and take out the 2 512k sticks.
