  1. I clicked on the Brave Bluray deal the moment it came up....waitlisted....drat...still waiting.
  2. best buy online sale, Insignia 39" for $250
  3. 2 of the deals have worked just fine on my android. The Kindle Fire is android and there are like 3 times as many andrioids as appes, so maybe it does not work too well with apple.
  4. dropped in sams for a few things for thanksgiving: at least at ours, if you have a plus membership and ask for an invitation for tomorrow night, they hand you one!
  5. We have done wirefly.com each year right around black friday when needed an upgrade for family. Each year they have a better price on whatever phone is wanted than almost anywhere, and there is no waiting in line. They do not service AT&T anymore though.
  6. Just my experience, but family and friends have had nothing but trouble with TV with built in DVD.
  7. Android Tablet, new Android Smartphone for wife, Sony BDP-S790 wifi 3d Blu-ray player. A nice cheap Air compressor wouldn't be bad either.
  8. Wifi = free use after you buy it, but you must be somewhere you can access internet wifi spot to use the internet on it 3G + wifi = you have to pay a monthly phone plan, you can use it on the internet anywhere you can get a phone signal whether you have wifi spot there or not.
  9. You are 100% correct, I have been keeping an eye on it. I am as good as I need to be right now, I am skipping the glasses needed 3d, next step glassesless. I normally hold out a while, sometimes skipping a trend or two on TV's. I skipped the move from curved tube TV to flat screen tube TVs, went right to flat panel HDTV. I can wait 4 year or so...I think.
  10. What was a horse carriage doing at a toyrus???
  11. Got the 46" Apex at Target, looks great. I am waiting to buy next tv when I can get a good sized 3d TV without needing glasses, if I can hold out that long. They are coming.
  12. That may be young. If you feel it is not though, since the Nexus 7 tablets are out as well as the new Kindle HD's, maybe buy them a used Kindle Fire first edition and a good paded cover for it?
  13. what size monitor do you want? 17", 19", 20", 21", 22"??? Helps with budget of PC.
  14. a 6450 is a pitiful processor, it sells around $40 and is on about the same level as an old 8800GS.... http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-6450-review/ http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/fastest-graphics-card-radeon-geforce,3067-7.html I hate to be too critical, but I feel that to be a horrible recomendation for his stated needs. Processor is okay, hard driveis okay, rest is a little below what would be expected for a professional video and architectural setup.
  15. maybe pick up one of this 6 core or the 4 core monster and then put in a bettter video card like a 6950 1gb off of newegg.com http://www.buy.com/prod/hp-pavilion-hpe-h8-1000-hpe-h8-1030-qn561aa-desktop-computer-phenom-ii/221901539.html or http://www.buy.com/prod/hp-pavilion-hpe-h8-1000-hpe-h8-1040-qn562aa-desktop-computer-core-i7/222268591.html most prebuilt PC's dont come with a good enough card for high end work, and if they do you get way overcharged. It is much easier just to swap out the card with something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150523 for $200 (no tax, no shipping). which is the price (or even more) most manufactureres will charge you for the upgrade, but you can now sell the old card and make a small profit.
  16. You better heal soon, we will all be missing you, we will be fine.
  17. Wallet with CC's in front pocket, cell in other front pocket.
  18. The best processor keeps changing, but you are best chosing the best processor you can get for the same price. Attached is a listing of about which processors are equal on each manufacturer, but even as it says, mobile processors are ever changing. Right now, i7>i5>i3 second gen>i3 first generation>pentium>celeron for intel, and for AMD, FX>x6>x4>x3>x2 with the new "A" series processors thrown in. According to Anandtech, the "A3850 is approximately equal to a second generation i3 2500." http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-overclocking,3052-5.html Often you will find if you are web surfing it almost does not matter if you are using a $500 processor, or a $50 one. Often also for the same $ you will find a lower speed processor of one company and a high speed one of the other company. In the current setup, you often get a more powerful AMD processor at a given price point.
  19. The following is a review I have read, and is not my words as I have not had much time to research those exact models: AMD Fusion E-450 or Intel i3 Ultra Low Voltage. Here's what I have read so far: AMD Fusion E-450 clocks at 1.65Ghz i3 ULV is around 1.3Ghz or 1.3 Ghz (not fully clear on that. the i3 supports DDR3 at 800 Mhz whereas the AMD Fusion E-450 supports DDR3 at 1333 Mhz AMD Fusion E-450 includes Radeon HD 6320 GPU with 600MHz clock where as the i3 ULV offers intel's HD video. As a sidebar, battery life is certainly important. It appears the AMD Fusion based notebook/netbook offers longer batterylife. Lightweight is also an important factor. On paper, from those perspectives, AMD seems to be a superior CPU.
  20. No real need for most people to pay as much as the $650 + tax one as it is not that much of an improvement. If you are going to fight for those, get the 4gb one there. As an idea though, maybe look at this one here: http://www.buy.com/prod/asus-a53e-xt3-15-6-notebook-intel-core-i5-2410m-2-3ghz-6gb-ddr3-memory/225447661.html for $530, or this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152290 for $600. These you can get for certain & probably has free shipping, and no tax.
  21. BTW, this is my local BB, and people wonder why I dont shop there.
  22. The B800 is around 1 split hair better, but both are really netbook class processors. You will not notice any difference, and even for web-browsing in a laptop, I recommend going at least one level of hardware better. Just my 2cents.
