  1. Here is something to consider. Best Buy corporate does not allow charity events or collection sites. Years ago I wanted to collect soccer balls for children in third world countries and asked for permission. It was then I found out that it is not permitted.
  2. You have an excellent point. The creature comforts do not truly bring to light the suffering these people face on a daily basis.

  4. I am all for a good charity, but you can't help wonder if having the van aside the campsite is just a wee but self promotional. Last year, it was two ladies from California that sat out since the first week in November. If you also notice, the tent is set up right behind the handicapped sign. Personally, i would move the tent one spot away from the area in respect to those who are in need of egress.
  5. http://www.orlandoweekly.com/Blogs/archives/2015/10/27/this-orlando-man-is-already-camped-out-at-best-buy-for-black-friday According to the article, he is a DJ and this may be a stunt. He looks ill prepared unless some more supplies are in his van. His previous campout was 15 days.

  7. Although Vinegar works well on most products, including wallpaper of all things, it's what the average user cannot see inside the unit that is disturbing. All coffee makers should be periodcally thrown out but since the Keurigs are so pricey, people will not want to throw them out then they should, given the "it still works" mantra. The average user will not take the unit apart for fear of voiding the warranty. The residuals left behind will never completely come out anyway. I never trust sites like Snopes. They are politically motivated/skewed.
  8. I have a problem with them because you can nver really clean them even if you follow the instructions. there are plenty of videos on the web that show you the problem with these brewers. I wonder how many people have gotten sick from these machines and never knew it.
  9. Rite Aid of all places leaked recently.
  10. There are two things that do not count on Black Friday: 1. A Budget 2. Calories
  11. Okay Black Friday veterans, you have done it all, seen it all and you have a good story to tell. It may have been you, a friend, or even a story you have heard that is just too good to keep to yourself. I have quite a few and they range from the usual whacky shoppers, to the ones who do things so stupid, that you just have to shake your head in amazement. There are even risque stories that circulate from time to time. One of my favorite stories revolves around something called treachery.....Lets hear what your faves are and then i will tell you the juciest ones from my archives.
  12. I remember the Zorro campaign where MR. Smilie would go around and slash the price.
  13. The Blurays and DVD Tv shows have become an annual favorite! Amazon may have to bite the proverbial bullet this season to get the edge back and offer free shipping as well.
  14. The excitement comes to a fever pitch on the drive to the store and then a big sigh of relief comes over me when I discover that I am first in line.
  15. Jacksonville and Macclenny florida
  16. The only time I save money is when a store does not deserve my dollars. Other than that, black Friday is a spending frenzy of biblical proportions.
  17. Usually one or two truckloads of stuff from Best Buy.
  18. The sales reps will tell you that November is a good month for discounts.
  19. A seller through Ebay was selling the KODI boxes for $30 shipped. I sent my friend the link and he ordered one before the seller realized that the shipping was free. They normally go for $40. He got a response that if his order was not already paid for, the transaction would be cancelled. I guess they never read the terms of service....either way, he had paid right away and the box is on it's way.
  20. Sometimes, it is the little things that make the biggest impression on the consumer. When CompUSA still cared, they gave out hot chocolate. Best Buy did this exactly........ONCE. I thought it would be interesting if stores gave out energy bars or energy drinks from companies that wanted to be associated with the holiday.
  21. One of my favorite discounts came from Kmart, and it is also a tree which we have used for many, many years! Sometimes, all it takes is a misprint, or a badly publicised advertisement to give the edge to the consumer. Lately, personal emails with coupons have helped.
  22. That's it! I can't take any more of this! I am sending them a cease and desist letter demanding that they wait until someone other than Harbor Freight posts an ad to release theirs next year.
  23. I would bet that many rude shoppers are actually those who have joined the fray on Thursday (within the last 3 years) and don't know how to conduct themselves as seasoned BF vets do.
  24. The whole problem with Apple products is the constraints and controls that they have over their products, not to mention lack of expandability.
