I personally like the TCL over the Hisense, although i was at Walmart recently and saw a pretty decent picture on that Hisense.

I love this thread! People need to get excited about the opportunities that come about this time of year.

Would like a list of Stores making ALL BF deals available online
jaymacfla replied to 571COALTON's topic in 2015
Sorry, but not true. They are claiming that most will be, but given those lofty parameters, expect short supply online for certain items...think Amazon's propensity for the flash in the pan sales (one to five in stock). -
Derek has done this before...always early! The donation is a nice gesture.

Here in the south, the campouts can be longer but the exact time of our arrival is a closely guarded secret. camping in different areas of the country arose from certain factors. If you have a lot of students, then they would always get the laptops, and they always knew exactly how long they could arrive to ensure that their efforts would be awarded. If it wasn't the students, then it was the military personnel who also had extra time off. You had to study them and learn what their breaking point was. For the military, it was usually about 24 hours, depending upon their return trip distance to base. For students, they could last anywhere from one to three days, but usually one or two because they were ill-prepared for the long haul. If you go past this point, you are camping, whether you realize it or not.

The HP61 ink is extremely common and I have found many printers at yard sales with unopened HP packages. I sometimes buy the extra packs. I have a brand new HP2620 (sealed box/yardsale) $30, and a Black Friday 2014 special HP2540 both of which use the HP61 cartridge. The older Epsons had a reset program and will allow after market ink refills/cartridges. I have an R300 from 11 years ago still going strong, and have found two more with extra ink, so BF printers are out of the question for quite a while.

Earlier this year, a 16 year old rear ended me on the interstate doing 75mph during inclement weather and in a contruction zone of all things. He was zipping in and out of traffic and he was on his cell phone. Getting to his friends house was apparently all too important, and now his mother is being sued as a result. Good luck to you, I hope your child is more responsible.

Black Friday shopping is really not meant to supplement your needs on a yearly basis. It is meant for the shopper to find that item which fills a need, not a want. people tend to get hooked on the concept, go overboard and then as the years roll on, they collect so much junk that they are saturated. There are also other factors involved like the impression that your dollar magically went further in 2006 than in 2015. if you did a comparative study of those two years you would find that the quality and value of the offerings are far superior today than to those "glory days". I invite all of those who are feeling blue about the sales to take at least two to three years off from this particular sale event. I did the exact thing in the 1990's and emerged a better consumer for it. These days, I find joy in helping others that aren't already threatening to boycott Black Friday because there isn't a good sale on a 75 inch or larger HDTV. (true story).

Trust me, we save way more than that. Don't listen to the media.

Stores have always leaked their own ads, people have become accustomed to the few true leaks from the occasional employee.
-
In later years, most complaints were from these two stores. Both forgot where their bread was buttered and suffered a very well deserved demise.
-
From the look of things you would think that Sears doesn't want to sell televisions.
-
One of my favorites are the ratcheting wrenches that are normally $30.
-
If you are accustomed to Dollar type stores, then all of their ads are laughable. If they actually have the copter now in the stores, it will make the ad even funnier. Basically, these ads are just a way to get you to see that they do have reasonably priced merchandise.

(GIZ) What about the two in one deal on the windows 8 tablet with keyboard? You can also upgrade to windows 10. I was also underwhelmed by their ad. They were smart to open on Friday. There are a few solid deals, but Jim will probably point them out tonight.

Black Friday LIVE Webcast Schedule & Information Thread

Glad to have you back, but by the look of your avatar, you don't look well..... -
Being a long time camper, i have created a video to remind me of the things to take on the sometimes week long trip.

Since this year's shirt had a definite female flair to it, a male influenced jersey style shirt is in order. Do away with the shopping cart and add something that a die hard Black Friday veteran would be proud of.

Still waiting for the first big ad leak just to have a webcast

Yes, I did. I had a successful test out at Best Buy with the periscope app and I am hoping to get a few things wrapped up in the bunker this weekend to start some test chats on skype. -
I already have it installed. I will be testing it out at best buy today. The app worked well. I can see it being used with the chatroom feature here. I can now broadcast live from the campsite. Things could get interesting. I talked with the manager and asked to do a charity while on my extended stay(camp). He was very positive and had to check with his district manager.

If more people would look at old adscans, they would get a better appreciation and understanding of the event and if the sales are truly getting better over time.

1. Approximately how many years have you been shopping on Black Friday? 20 years 2. Do you plan to spend more, less or the same amount of money during Black Friday week this year? More 3. Do you plan on shopping online during Black Friday week this year? Yes 4. How many people do you plan on shopping with on Black Friday this year? 10 5. If you could make stores change one thing about Black Friday besides opening times, what would it be? All major retailers must move to a ticketing system for doorbusters and pallets will be outlawed.

I am glad to see my fellow crazies here doing this and taking back the crown from California. When it comes to BF tent camping, floridians do it best. I was actually thinking of driving down there and showing him how to set up a camp shower, since various articles state that he will not leave the site and will only use baby wipes. Staying in a small dome tent against the wall of a huge brick building is brutal. He really should upgrade his digs. I bet he actually sleeps in the van. On another note, I was able to talk with a local manager of a similar Best Buy where the property is not managed by a mall. He confirmed what i had said about corporate policy and that in this case the permission was solely at the discretion of the manager. I have found out over the years that managers can take calculated risks against corporate policy but sometimes the calculations are a bit off and their tenure at that store is short lived. I am willing to bet that mall managed properties are harder to get the green light to do such an event.

Sutton contends that he collected food over a 15 day period last year on the campsite. I will be doing some fact checking with the Best Buy in Orlando to find out how he gets a special exemption (corporate) to do this, or if the local management team gives him permission to do so. His location is not on mall property, so a 33 day campout can be sanctioned by the local Best Buy. If this checks out, I may be able to have a way to collect for the children afterall.

One of my stories revolves around a young female reporter. She was hitting me hard with questions regarding the financial cost of camping versus showing up later. When she finally thought that she had me on the ropes, indicating that over a week that the ends do not justify the means, I had her move closer to my laptop. On the page was my eBay account showing all of the current sales in green and for the day totalled over $150. She was visibly shocked by her reaction and beat a hasty retreat. I never saw a story from her and it is probably because I did not fit the narrative of the average camper in the mind of a presumptive reporter.
