  12. All feedback is important! I did not like it either since the response feed was not all that great. I had to load separate software with OBS just to try it out.

  16. This is great news! Not everyone has special status and this will help sales immensely.
  17. Every year, people think that they know what size of TV they need but do not consider the location and distance from the set. Further complicating this is the distance from the TV to the seat is shorter as you climb up the resolution chart, especially 4K. Have you visited the Magnolia store within a Best Buy recently? The seat or couch is conspicuously close to the TV. http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-size/size-to-distance-relationship . Above is the link for the site that allows you to calculate the specific distance needed for optimal viewing, based upon the picture being viewed. Let's take a 65 inch tv for example: 480p: 23.2 ft 720p: 12.6 ft 1080p: 9.1 ft 4K ultra: 6.2 ft Obviously, it would be foolish to calculate the distance based upon the lowest resolution, but it does give you an idea of the distance change from 1080p to 4K. This is important because you may be setting yourself up a specific room by design, and you need to know these things before making a purchase which may not yield a good outcome. Let's say that you have set your room up with this 65inch tv. If you jump to a 75 inch 4k, you are only able to move the seat or couch .9 ft or 7.1 ft total away from the set for optimal use at 4K. if you are primarily using it for 1080p viewing, then you would still have to slide that couch back over a foot. Certain factors may come into play like the sets ability to properly upscale or simulate from the source. Along with distance, you have to center the tv so that you are not in an uncomfortable position with your head being in an unnatural position while viewing the tv. This is why over the fireplace installations are a bad idea. Your distance is also important because you want your eyes to capture the screen only, keeping you from seeing a small rectangle on a large wall in your peripheral.
  18. Update. I spent the last Sunday getting the majority of my Black Friday camping gear organized and cleaned out the barn in the process. I am going to devote some time to helping the wife with her transition to her new office tomorrow, leaving me free to pursue the live show, whether sanctioned or not (hopefully with support). I will try out a few different approaches including livestream, Ustream, youtube, or even periscope. Please chime in with your favorite and topics of discussion and i would love to do a test run with a few of you here this week.
  19. One of those years, 2011 was the craziest. We were first in line and had seven tents up early and the media was freaking out! We had three trucks there non-stop with the large antennas extended. The store loved it, the media bought the charade, and the employees absolutely freaked out.
  20. Welcome back Taz! Loss of loved ones can be a real downer for the holidays and Black Friday shopping. In the last three years, we have lost my mother in law, sister in law, and brother in law. Two of them were ardent supporters of the Black Friday Vacationers and can be seen in many of the pictures, videos and newspaper articles. many good people on this site have lost loved ones, but we eventually come to realize that they would want us to continue and possibly pass on the love of the season to our children and grandchildren.
  21. Perhaps we will get a better understanding in the next week or so when the rest of the store openings will be released. I do recall from years past that many people were calling Black Friday shoppers greedy and they were arguing that they did not feel that it was fair that all of the stores opened at the same time! Having so many open up on Friday is a good thing, but it would be better if major retailers had to alternate between Thursday and Friday to break it up and give all shoppers a needed break and a fairer chance at all of the goodies. I knew in years past that the trip to Walmart was a scavenger hunt, after spending my time camped in front of Best Buy. When they staggered the sales by creating events 1-3, it gave me a chance of enjoying two shopping experiences! If all stores could come together on this and alternate the shopping days, they would put the shopper first and give the employees a break every other year.
  22. This sounds like a dream! So tell me how you were able to dash out of one and into the other. Were they located in the same shopping center? Back in 2004, many people were not camping long term. We had not hit our stride yet. I did see tents, but they were over-nighters around the corner from the front of the store. In 2004, we still had time to eat dinner and get into the line by 4 PM to be in the top ten.
  23. One reason for the demise of a few sites as a relevant Black Friday sites is the fact that they are driven both by giant egos of the posters and the need for the site to directly glean profit from every click or share, so much so that they no longer try to hide it. This forum is well run, administered/moderated and is one of the last few sites that actually has both pleasant and helpful postings without all of the hateful tear-downs.
  24. I used to shop there for the closeouts since I had 5 kids. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using GottaDeal mobile app
  25. Hey, we have the best people here. All of the other sites are ruled by rude or arrogant people. That is why you do not see any effort for a show anywhere else. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using GottaDeal mobile app
