Backpacks in SoCal are all 50% in the stores I have visited: LaVerne to Burbank. Anyone in the area of Diamond Bar, they seem to be about 1 week behind on all their markdowns, so they still have a lot of things that others are sold out of.

I saw these this morning, and the shelf tag has them labeled $5.14, so they don't even look like clearance. At least at my store that is true. They are hanging with all the regular ones. Oh, I forgot to mention that Target paid me for getting my 3 prescriptions filled there today! I have upcoming oral surgery and the doctor did the prescriptions ahead of time so I could be ready. One had a $15 copay, one had a $4 copay, and one was $0. Yes, that's right, $0. For some reason there was no charge for the painkiller which was weird all on its own. Well, I had 3 CVS $25 new prescription coupons, so they gave me $75. $75-$19=$56 for me to get my prescriptions. Yippee!

Just an FYI for Southern Californians. I stopped by the Glendale Galleria store today, and they did not have much left by way of school supplies, and they were still 30% off. All on the endcaps in Stationery. They had not done their Sporting Goods markdowns. They still had a few of the bike trailers and strollers. Alhambra store has not done Sporting Goods markdowns. They have several bike trailers and a few strollers. School supplies still at 30%. If I get lucky and find a bit of time tomorrow, I'll head over to La Verne, San Dimas & Diamond Bar, but it is doubtful. Not sure if the main reason I go that way will be ready for me to come, and time is just not in great supply. :-)

No, not yet. I think the first 2 stores to go that low will be Glendale & Burbank which both had a LOT of stuff left, and they wen to 50% before the others. I'll post it as soon as I know they have gone down. I hit the 2 Pasadena stores daily, and others as I have time.

No. They have not marked the school supplies down in Duarte, at least as of yesterday. They had marked the backpacks 50% when I was there, but not school supplies. They also marked a number of sporting goods items down to 75% off. Probably mostly gone now, but I didn't go today.

They were marking some flatware sets 75% off today. They looked ready to do more in that department, but they took their break.

Yep, I did that, and the first few times it did nothing. Then it would download and not open - said something was missing. I tried about 10 times, and it finally worked this last time. ugh.

I went to 3 stores this morning. Only one was marking the sporting goods stuff 75%. I got some of those backpack/sleeping bag sets - fireman & soccer for $2.98 each. They come with a flashlight and water bottle. Great for our Church's Christmas event. DS1 got one for his birthday and still loves it. I also saw those kid's sets that are large and tube shaped with a tent, sleeping bag and something else in them for $4.98. They had the princess & garage sets. Anyone in the LA area desperate for those camping tents that are on clearance, Duarte Target has several just marked 75% including at least 5 of the Eddie Bauer ones at $49.98 now. They had quite a bit of stuff there. No bike trailers that I saw, but I might have missed them. Duarte Target is also marking backpacks 50% off today. I also got lucky and got the Dora Playhut tent for 75% off. It was a mismark as it turned out but they honored it.

sporting goods get marked down on thursdays most of the time. I'd check tomorrow.

If they were resetting the department, then go back today and/or tomorrow and check again. Be sure to check the clearance areas for toys and other nearby departments. At our store they moved all the clearance sporting goods to toys when the reset. They often pull it to the back until they can deal with it.

I got a message yesterday that Gottadeal posted the first Black Friday ad. Just Ace Hardware, but it has started.

Yep. If you know it clearanced in the last month or so, they can look it up in the system. If it is older than that, they won't be able to find it. I found a couple of the Amy Coe bedding sets from the last clearance round, and they were able to find them with no problem at all.

I found an Amy Coe Pink Flutter Crib Set at one store and a matching Boppy at another store today. Both 75% off and quite a surprise. Diego & Dora Color Wonder sets are ringing up Item Not Found. I saw several of the In Step Bike trailers still at 50% off in La Verne, San Dimas & Walnut today for those in SoCal. Only one of them had the In Step Jog Stroller, I think it was Walnut.

I haven't seen the attachments yet, so I don't know what they'll do. It can hook into the computer to download "missions" that allows the kids to recreate scenes from show. I believe that those are audio instructions.

I think regular garden markdowns are Thursday.

Oh yeah! I forgot the jewelry. I never look at that stuff, but often bring little clearance items up for a cashier who has a 3 yr old girl I think she might want, and she made sure I knew about it! It was so sweet! She showed me a bunch of necklaces and other nice pieces. I bought a few.

They have 2 kinds. The kind that one or two toddler's might sit in (I haven't checked the specs on how much it can handle) like a little wagon with a zip shut front. I got new windshield wiper blades for 30% off today. For us those are a fall item because the summer heat destroys the rubber. Great seeing her marking them as I kept forgetting to buy them!

were your school supplies at 30% long? I am wondering if they'll push some of our areas through the markdown cycle faster because of Halloween.

Woohoo! I got 2 of the 10 packs of the solar lights I wanted for $19.98 each. If anyone is looking for them in the Los Angeles area, we have a TON at the East Pasadena store - 210 freeway at Madre exit. There were at least 15 more sets. They are in the garden center along one of the walls. They also had a couple of Aussie grills.

How long were the school supplies at 30% at your store? Just trying to gauge what to expect here.

Yeah, I think Target keeps a few of those things around all the time. However, I do know that they generally clear out the garden center completely for Halloween & Christmas stuff. We have weed killers & fertilizers year round too, but a different formulation for different seasons, so they clear out the summer and then move on to fall. You must be pretty far south. I grew up in Houston, and it got chilly, but now my dad complains of it getting down right cold each winter. Freezing and all.
