The battery operated toys were manufactured by TOMY, not RC2/Learning Curve which manufactures the wooden & diecast sets. TOMY lost the license and now the battery operated ones are manufactured by HIT Toys. I checked the CPSC website, and there are no recalls on either of their brands. If she has a batter operated wooden toy, though, that may well be on the recall list. They started manufacturing those a while back. I don't keep up with the wooden so well as we have diecast and a few of the TOMY battery operated sets. -

The Thomas recall was ONLY for the WOODEN THOMAS, none of the diecast Thomas toys have been recalled....yet. -

Got a couple of stuffed kitty cats 75% off today. Just happened to go fill the first round of prescriptions for the kids first sinus infections of the school year (we are prone to them), and DS1 saw a stuffed cat that he wanted for Christmas (we are cat lovers and he wanted a brother for his other one). Went back this morning and it was 75%! So, for $1.24 I figured one more stuffed animal would be okay. -

Thanks for the reminder, I found several of the Sharpies had been put back in the regular aisle. They are 24 & 25 packs as you say. The 24 packs have a peachy colored one on the far right, too, that stands out. What does the label maker look like? I don't think I ever saw them, so I am not sure what I am looking for. I have always wanted one, but always have been too cheap. -

In one store today, I noticed that several of the bike helmets had had their prices changed at the tag. A significant number were clearly clearance prices because they ended in .98 and they were very low. So, if you are in the market for a bike helmet, I would check them carefully. I noticed one toddler helmet was $1.98. I also noticed that a Disney Princess set was marked $4.98 at one store (not at another). There are 2 of these that look basically identical except that one is slightly lighter in color - more pink than purple. It is $4.98. It has the elbow & knee pads with it too. Sorry, I did not have time to write down DCPIs. There were too many and I was pressed for time. Here is a photo of the one on sale that I know for sure: http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/51Q18BVRGAL._SS400_.jpg -

I totally agree. Sometimes the pricing team just make up a price they think is right. That is how I got those Power Rangers Helmets for $4.96. I have also seen a large number of items, usually baby bedding sets, marked down from the online price. They have had a set at the San Dimas store here for at least 6 weeks at 30% off. I have seen similar sets sit in a store for several weeks, but eventually they take it to 50%. And likewise to 75%. -

They do have to mark it down manually, I think. I would leave it where it is for a couple of weeks, as these tend to get marked down much more slowly than other items. I'd try to be at the store when they are marking that department or a nearby one and ask a markdown team member if it is still that price (scan it first on the off chance that they do mark down automatically). Can't hurt to try. -
I'd print it out again and take it in again. Ask for a manager and get testy if they give you any flack. They probably have the KB Clubhouse flyers sitting at the register. Pick one up and say, that you joined, this is the coupon and that you only have a laser printer. If the manager won't honor it, get his/her name and a good physical description and write up a letter and send it to the company. I have had a lot of success doing this. I'd mail it to SVP and CFO: Joel R. Wiest 100 West St. Pittsfield, MA 01201

Yep, they are often the ones with red & white long price stickers. If you look at the sticker, it often will say Target.com only or something like that. I have most often seen baby items, but I am guessing that the manual lawnmower someone reported recently was one. I got a play tent in sporting goods that was one once. So if you see some oddball thing sitting on an endcap, that may well be what it is. -

Oh contraire! They DO mark online returns down all the way to 75% and sometimes 90%. I have gotten a few goodies that way! -
Oh, for those of you who DO have KBs around, you will also get a little piece of paper with your receipt to do an online survey. You can only do it once a month unless you have multiple email addresses and remember to clear your kbtoys.com cookie in between. But you can now use them to save either $5 off a $5 purchase or $3 off a $3 purchase. You used to have to spend $20 to use them, but I don't think they got enough responses so they changed it. If the cashier doesn't give it to you, ask them for the survey receipt. Some of them just throw them away figuring you won't bother.

I would complain to the company. They will want to know all the details. That is ridiculous! I have a great relationship with the manager of our store, and he goes out of his way to let people use coupons. The 10% thing is for tuesdays. If you didn't get it, I would go back and ask for the manager and a price adjustment. They can do it. I have had the manager tell me about a sale coming up and tell me to buy the items now and bring back the receipt the next week for a price adjustment!

It is specific to the code. What you need to do is sign the kids up using different email addresses. In between, you need to clear your cookies in your browser. You need to delete the KB cookie that gets set. I have these for my kids as well as DH & myself.

SoCal school supplies are also at 75%, but backpacks are hit or miss. Some 50% still, some 75%. They also marked a large number of party supply items (adult style, not kids) 30% off today. I didn't get to spend as much time looking as I would have liked today, but I noticed that much. -

Yep. I agree! I have done that a number of times, but you are right about the risk. Sometimes it goes back to full price. What a load of hooey! Sounds like someone just got a promotion and thinks she's somethin'. Probably just took a class on the subject. More than half of the ones at our stores will just make it up if they can't find the price. Rarely do the work THAT hard to get the "right" price. Nope. I keep checking, though! I want to buy a bunch of the markers and stuff to help me start an arts & crafts basket for the spring school fundraiser. Last year I got a bunch of marker sets for our church Christmas store, too. I am still using the ones I bought for my own kids last year, too. Think maybe I went a little overboard last year. -

If you hate it, why shop there? I hate Walmart, so I just don't go. On a separate note, many boys shorts were marked 75% off today. Here in CA they can wear them 9-10 mos out of the year, so a great deal. They were marking electronics and I noticed that those digital photo frames were now 30% off here. Still a long way to go to be a good price, but if you really want one, might not be too bad. Some of the digital cameras went from 15% to 30% as well, but not all. Wish our had gone to 50%, oh well. They'll probably be gone before that. -

Thanks for mentioning that! I'll have to look for them. My girlfriend spends 6 weeks every summer in Sweden (married to a German who is half Swedish, so they get those long European vacations and have a family home - must me nice...), and I helped her get some for her girls to take on the trip. Now her friends over there want them too! She says it happens with almost every electronic toy or gadget they take with them! She asked me to keep an eye out for them. -

Just an FYI, they often pull electronics items before they go 75%. Several months ago a large number of us were watching for the Disney Mix Sticks to go 75% and they only seemed to mark them that far in a few stores. Most pulled them at 50% and sold them at salvage. Not sure why they do this, but it is common. So, if you REALLY want it and are willing to give 50% I would get it. You can always hold off opening them in hopes of a lower price later. But it beats the frustration of kicking yourself for waiting. If you only want it for 75%, then no biggee. I was thinking of getting one for DS if they go that low. He is young, but I would just as soon get one of those as pay a ridiculous amount for a cheesy kids one in toys. -

Oh that is a bummer! They are new to our area, so I think they are still trying hard to get new customers. These were all new or transfers. -

They were in the Sunday paper over the last month. We got them 2 weeks in a row, and one week there were 8!! The next week they had another 4. There have also been a lot of Rite Aid ones lately, and Kroger printed 5 in their sale ad last week, at least they did here. Their ads aren't always the same nationwide. -

Yep, that's right. Up to something like $30 or $35 per coupon. I clip every pharmacy coupon (especially during the fall & winter when it is one round of sinus infections after another with my boys and me) and alternate my one standing prescription between Ralphs (Kroger) & Target. I even have it in my online calendar to do it every 21 days (the limit for insurance) so that I maximize my savings during the year.
