I have to tell you guys, my boys LOVE theirs! I just ran across the sale price and thought I would share the joy. They are battery hogs, so if you can buy a charger on Amazon or elsewhere online, I HIGHLY recommend it. Otherwise, you may want to buy a AA battery charger and some rechargeables. Also, you might want to check your local Walmart for some games. They had them all marked $15, which is a good price. However, I was able to get some clearance ones for $3 this week!!! They had had them on clearance for months (our store is HORRIBLE about clearance), and I just made a deal with the manager to take them all for $3 each so he could clear out his clearance. Whoopee!! I got a great deal and my kids will be thrilled for Christmas!

While it is true that a large number of workers who work for minimum don't give a rat's backside about their jobs, I have gotten to know the employees at my local stores, and most of them are really good to deal with. And I live in Los Angeles. Most of them don't care because they get treated like garbage by their managers and the customers. hard to care when that happens. I talked to a cashier at Walmart (a store I avoid like the plague most of the time), and she said she left yesterday in tears because her line (in garden center) had gotten so long that it was all the way into the store (that means at least 40 people or more) and no one would come help. Not even a manager! I really felt bad for her, and she isn't a whiner. So, while the person the OP dealt with did a lousy job, I don't condemn the whole lot of minimum wage workers for it.

I picked one up for 50% last Wednesday as they were packing them up. Looked like they were salvaging them. If it makes you feel any better, they have a real tinny sound quality. It isn't a big deal for us as we were just replacing an old boom box in our boys room, but I wouldn't want that for myself.

I'd have demanded a manager then and there and marched them back to see the sign. THey would have honored the price, I am sure. Heck, the gave me a $79.99 wooden Thomas the Train Cranky set because they were stocked in the $19.99 place of Take Along Thomas Cranky the Crane, and there were no other prices listed for it! Unfortunately, you were in a hurry, so that left you with no time to deal with them. If the sign is still there, then you should get the price. If not, I would go through the line and march the guy back there or call a manager.

Wow, they were doing markdowns? I am surprised. All the markdown teams around here were busy on the sales floor helping customers yesterday and off today. They all looked SO out of their element yesterday. But they still knew more than the seasonal help. I gave a lot of directions to people who were looking for this and that yesterday. I guess I know the store better than most of the seasonal people at least.

We've had both the Leapster & the V.Smile Pocket, and STRONGLY prefer the V.Smile. Our kids enjoy the games more, it plugs into the TV and can be used that way, and it is more durable. The Leapster barely got played with after the initial two or three weeks. They just didn't enjoy it as much.

Or that you can find a job...Yeah, I hear you! We're just waiting for the next earthquake to afford a house. Ugh!

Could be the problem of too few stores for the large population. Or, could just be the fall lull. See how it is after Christmas. That is when the real clearance action starts up again. It is incredible from January to March or so.

Yeah, right. This is Walmart we are talking about. That means that is all they will have. The likelihood that they'll have more is pretty small.

Actually, there are several KB Toys opening at midnight. They are doing doorbusters from 12am-5am!!!

Picked mine up this morning, and they didn't have it ready within the promised minute, so I got $10 cash back. Truly cool! Pay attention to your receipt when you go to pick it up. the rules are right on the page. Have your ID & credit card out and ready when you hand them the receipt because the minute doesn't start till they have all 3 pieces. They have a big blue button you can push that starts a timer behind the counter. Mine was simply not there and they gave me someone else's. So, I guess the other thing is to make sure you get right in to pick it up in case they oversell.

Target has them all for $15 all week.

Got Ratatouille for the Leapster for $10 today. On sale for $15, then had a $5 register coupon that I have been carrying around for weeks! I also got the full set of High School Musical 2 dolls, the 2 packs, for free with my coupons and vouchers. The Toy Catalog coupons are valid for the 2 packs, not just the singles (which is how they are advertised). The 2 packs are on sale for $15. There is a $3 off coupon in the toy catalog, so I printed 3 of them. They took all 3. In fact, when I checked my receipt later, I saw she accidentally scanned it 4 times, so i got an extra $3 off. I had a $36 voucher from the recalls, so they were free. Great deal for some gifts!

I just ordered it for pickup. Thanks Brad! I know that Amazon is not a partner, but they have the same price right now in case this sells out. Best Buy has the better return policy for Holiday gifts, though, so definitely the best choice if it works for you.

Yep, most place do something. You often have to just tell them when you go in, or have someone in your party tell the server. If your favorite restaurants have any sort of email list, they almost always send out a bday offer as well as other offers throughout the year. We get them from Black Angus (Stuart Andersons), Coco's for our kids, and Hamburger Hamlet. If you can't find them online, ask at the restaurant if they have a mailing list.

Target has an "exclusive" variation of the TME toy that I think is in the BF ad. Here they have an endcap of them. I saw a similar, but slightly different, "exclusive" variation at Walmart or TRU. I can't remember now. I know I saw them the same day, both on endcaps.

No, the store copies don't ever have the coupon. Unfortunately, we never get the sale ads in the paper, either. frustrating.

it came from the Mattel website, as they are the manufacturer. http://www.mattel.com/pollypromise . And it is still up on their site. Most people have had bad luck at Walmart and Kmart. But Target, TRU and several drug stores have been good about it.

If you can get it, it is really worth it! I was doing my daily Target morning run after dropping DS6 at school last year close to Christmas and just got lucky getting one. I gave to DH as his gift last year, but it was really for him and the 2 boys. They all just LOVE it! And there are games for everyone. You just can't beat it as far as I am concerned!

Nope. I am already seeing end caps that are clearly being set up for BF. I know a number of items that are planned for the sale, and they are what they are stocking heavily on endcaps.

Yeah, I remember it as a kid. Always hated going to kmart for Mom to make the payments. It never occurred to me that it would be a good way of "hiding" their gifts. Except for the whole problem of employees stealing your stuff. Ugh! What a nightmare! Can't imagine it will continue that much longer, though. It just doesn't seem to be in their interest to have to store the stuff. But who knows, maybe it could become niche market...
