  1. No, but they would normally go down today or tomorrow.
  2. It didn't say. I was reading last year's Target Thread. It just referred to someone's store in OC. Did one of the stores down there close or remodel last year? I was wondering if that was why they might have done it.
  3. I noticed that they had marked most of the baby stuff down in the baby strollers, pack n plays, etc. when I stopped by today. I don't buy much of that anymorej (yeah!), but most of them had red stickers.
  4. Ours went 90% on the 1st last year. I went right after the Rose Parade finished and I was able to escape. The Target along the parade route didn't open till noon that day and I was able to get a few things. I am expecting it tomorrow since it didn't go today. the employees at the Madre store were surprised it didn't happen today.
  5. Yes, but it is also a generalization. there is no hard and fast rule. they vary it by the quantity of stock left. Last year, one store in OC, CA went 90% off the day after Christmas. You might not believe the number of posters who don't bother looking at that page. There are people perpetually asking the same questions again and again about the schedule.
  6. Based on last year's thread, some stores went 90% as early as 1/3 (New York), several, including those in Alabama & Arizona went 90% 1/4 and most of the rest were 1/5 or 1/6.
  7. You realize that the markdown schedule is listed on the first page of this thread?
  8. anyone been out this morning to check for 90%? I am trapped till afternoon, but it would be nice to know if I should go out after the floats roll by and the crazy people who camped out overnight leave.
  9. Ugh! I don't want to have to drive to Whittier, but what was the clearance price? I may make the trip. Funny, when I lived in the boonies 25 miles was nothing. We had to drive that far to get to town. But living in LA, 25 miles is the other end of the earth!
  10. My feeling, and at least one employee I spoke with thought so too, is that the stores that went 75% on Friday will go 90% tomorrow. They are itching to set Global Bazaar, so I tend to agree that it will happen. What stinks for me is that I am trapped at home by the Rose Parade until at least mid-afternoon. I could probably get out, but I couldn't get back in. We are about mid-way down the route, so it runs till about 11am or noon. Then the traffic has to clear out with everyone leaving. Oh well, I really only want to get wrapping paper and ribbons. I think the other store here in town won't go 90% till Wednesday, so I'll have to settle for that.
  11. We have the employees getting the goods discussion periodically and people are split. When I arrived at the store that was going 75% the other day, and I knew to expect it so I was there as the doors opened, the entire overnight team was walking away from the Christmas section with carts full to overflowing, moving to the registers to pay. So, it was pretty clear who got the best stuff at that store.

  13. Oh, the one that we refer to as the old Fedco (they took over the location) is better this time around. The 2 story store is usually better, but the other one has more this year. It is the one I overheard a manager referring to 20 pallets in the back on the day it went 75%. Take the Madre exit off the 210 and go South under the freeway bridge. Turn right onto Colorado at the first light past the freeway and it is a long block down on the right, past Smart & Final. It is pretty big. Christmas (and later Global Bazaar, etc.) is on the wall closest to the street in the middle.
  14. both our store are on Colorado, but the two story one is the one with the plates. the soap is gone, I think. The old Fedco store off Madre & CO put out the toys. If forgot to mention that the guy put out loads of those Playdoh bags, too.
  15. One of our stores put out a TON of Glad paperplates & the Insulair coffee cups with lids (I have been scouring my stores for these without success until today!). My other close store was putting out a ton of the toys from Mini-seasonal: more of the travel games (Battleship, Sorry, etc.), the Littlest Pet Shop tubes, Weebles tubes, etc. Also, be sure to check the regular soap aisle for the large Softsoap refills of the clear soap. The Christmas clearance ones have Happy Holidays on them with some snowflakes and say extra 25% or something like that. I have found more than a dozen of them in the regular aisles. Since I already got mine, I took them to some of the cashiers I know. They really appreciate it when customers do that.
  16. Oh, by the way, the markdown team was working again today. I thought I would let everyone know that there may be markdowns on weekends for a while. I spoke to one of the gals I know pretty well, and she said that they were working like mad right now. She keeps losing track of what day of the week it is because they are working so much!
  17. I have experienced it mid-day, and someone else mentioned it happening last night, so I'd go and check.
  18. Really!? We ALWAYS have TONS of wrapping paper and bows left at our stores when they hit 90% off. I am waiting till then to get them. I just refuse to pay more.
  19. Oooh you were lucky on the advent calendar. That one is considered a "toy." Last year they had the Thomas Christmas trains like that, and this year the wooden Thomas Christmas set is still considered a "toy" rather than Christmas. I did, however, force them to give me the Breyer Mini Whinnies & Transformers Legends ones at 75% off. I was only able to do that at the store where they still had the original section in tact because it showed that they had a shelf tag in the Christmas section for them. They were ringing up full price.
  20. Take them back right away. They can see by your receipt when you bought them. If they argue, make a fuss.
  21. Oh, for SoCal folks, I saw a Butterscotch pony on the top shelf above the games at the Burbank store - looked like 30% off, but too far to see for sure. I also saw one at Eagle Rock down low on the bottom shelf in the aisle with the play tents, tunnels & playhouses. Didn't have a red tag on it, but didn't check it either. Just thought I'd let you know.
  22. Well, I couldn't stand it, so I went to 3 more Targets. Burbank is still 50% as is Eagle Rock. Glendale is 75%. For those who care, it seems that the ones that went 75% early it was because they had a glut of merchandise. The East Pasadena store I went to at opening this morning said it had 20 pallets still in the back to move out. So look for restocks!
  23. THey are just plain wrong. It'll be tomorrow.
  24. Turned out that our other Pasadena store is still only 50%
