bargain Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 What temperature do you set your Thermostat ?
bayhaysay Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Ours is at 68 during the day 70 at night.
floridasun5 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 It stays right around 76 most of the time. I live in Florida and like it warm! LOL
ccarson1972 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 My house was so cold every morning that I thought my furnace wasn't working, so I kicked the heat up to 75. It was hot in here, but it was not cold in the morning. Then I recieved my bill and my actual amount spent was way over $200, so I turned it back down to around 70.
femalesliealot Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I like to keep our's at 68 all of the time, girlfriend likes to keep our's at 72 all of the time. It's a war that neither of us will ever win. Right now it's about 33 here in PA
biomajor Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I like to sleep with it around 66-67, but my husband doesn't like blankets and kicks it to 72--I turn it down when I see it and he turns it right back up--it would be funny if it weren't so pathetic. During the day I keep it at 70, but he's not home.
Spooot Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 During the day when I'm working around the house I keep it at 68, when the sun goes down I kick it up to 70 then at bedtime it kicks down to 60 downstairs. The upstairs is turned off all day and comes on about 9PM at 65.
civicracinggirl7 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I turn the bathroom up to 70 if I'm taking a shower, then turn it down when I'm done. I keep the main one set to the middle of the dial (doesn't have numbers) for a few hours during the day to warm up, then turn it down again.
mghtymth27 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 around 65 during the day and 62 or less at night. I like being warm, but I am out voted. I like my blanket!!
malachitecat Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 ours is set around 65. but then our house doesn't get below like 69-70 so the gas heat doesn't kick on.
hpowers Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 We have radiant floor heat that's heated by a wood burning boiler outside so our house is a balmy 85. Our shop area is 80 and I get cold!
missyjane Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I really like my digital thermostat especially this time of year. It goes to 67 about 20 minutes before I get out of bed, then it goes down to 64 when everyone has left for the day. Comes back to 67 shortly before the first child arrives home from school and then goes back down to 64 while we are asleep.
Guest Deals4Me Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 NORMALLY 68.... But we have no working furnace right now...so its about 40 in here with space heaters.
teebee Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I keep mine on about 75. I'm always freezing so, during the day when everyone is gone, sometimes I turn it up more!
Daydreamer228 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 DD keeps ours set at 71 in the winter and 79 in the summer. I'm always cold, I think I have the coldest room in the house but no place to put a space heater in here. When we had the ice a couple of weeks ago and down in the teens, I was about to start begging her to let us turn the heat up for a couple of days, but we made it through that cold snap. It did get turned up for a few days but the electric bill skyrocketed, so we leave it chilly in here now and just bundle up.
mom2thegirls Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 After receiving our first bill of the heating season, I've turned it down from 68-70 to 65. Our bill tripled from October/November (~$120) to (~$360) for November/December. And it ain't even got cold yet. January/February are out coldest months. I've banned all cooking with the gas oven, and only essentials will be dried in our gas dryer.
noehlp Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I used to set ours at 72, but with all the news about heating gas skyrocketing I have set it this year at 66 degrees on the coldest days and 65 on the warmers. Now occassionally the youngest will get a hair up her but and get a chair and change it. One day she had it up to 78 degrees, I thought there was a fire or something as it was much warmer than usual. kids
sheli Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I liked mine at 72 or higher until I had to pay the bill. Now it's at 62 for workday and night to sleep. We "splurge" and turn it up to 66 in the evening.
*sparkles* Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 We keep it 68 during the day, 66 at night...might have to lower it at night now that I saw a giant bill:eyepoppin
misshayley Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 We usually keep our house 68-72 year round. Our furnace is electric, so we won't have an increased bill, so this year it will probably be the same.
kmbrly Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Thermostat is turned off at the moment and the windows open. when it is on though (a/c) is set at 72.
happyrat Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 58-62 during the winter, and about 84-85 when I'm home, 88 when I'm not during the summer. I hate high energy bills. Highest gas $25 highest electric (ac) $50. Every year the price goes up, and my thermostat goes down lol.
cthulhu Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 When I'm home alone, I tend to turn the heater off or wayyyy down. In the summer I try to keep it just barely comfortable except when it's bed time. I have to comfortable to sleep.
treasure60 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 We have a monitor heater in our house so we set ours to 68 during the day and 66 at night. It is chilly for me so I wear extra clothing in the house during the day and evening.
magickallight Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 My hubby won't let it go higher than 68! I keep a warming lap blanket on me while I am at the computer - but my hands are like ICE CUBES! Brrrrrrrrrrrr!
gemini1217 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 My kids' rooms stay colder than the rest of the house. So I have to keep ours around 72. We are going to have to close some vents & stuff to get it adjusted right. If it wasn't for the kids...we would keep it around 68-70.
daveyd Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I have a programable thermostat. Keep it at 63 from 1130pm-630am (sleeping) and 830am-500pm(working). Keep it at 69 from 630am-830am(waking hours) and 500pm-1130pm(when I am home from work)
