  3. I like Black Friday but not enough to stand in line for days on end!
  4. Shoot, I'm usually begging guests to take food home after dinner, I'm usually sick of turkey by the time I get to the cleaning it off the bone part and just want it gone and don't much care who takes it. LOL Quite frankly I start making various packages when I get it all back into the kitchen anyway, perhaps that is the way to handle it..when you get it all back int hekitchen just start making up care packages and tell them when they leave their doggie bags are ready.
  5. have, well the computer said they had 5 left but the ones in the boxes could not be found anywhere. So they sold me the one on the shelf..after I got to the checkout I found a small break in on the reindeers antlers (not enough to really matter or that couldn'[t be repaired)...the checker called the store manager over and he proceeded to mark the thing down from $60.00 to $25.00!!! It looks so cute in my livingroom. *G*
  6. I guess after watching my daughter go through the stress of figuring out how she was going to be everywhere she was expected to be Christmas morning (with us, her dad and stepmom, both sets of grandparents on her side and then her DH's parents). I took a step back and said ok, nothing says that we HAVE to open these gifts we bought on Christmas morning. So we go up a week before Christmas or a week after. The grandkids love it, their Christmas is about two to three weeks long. *LOL*
  7. morning and then tell them ok, get dressed we have to be at Grandma's by 9AM? I never had to deal with that issue, but my daughter did with her first two. I finally told her that it was time that she and her husband start a tradition of thier own, like let your children have the morning with thier new stuff and then head to other family gatherings after lunch. So that's what they did.
  8. The rule of thumb is 300 Mini lights per foot, which means if you have a 7 1/2ft. tree you will need 2250 lights. Anything over that really becomes a fire hazard especially if you use only one oulet. Having siad that I agree, the more lights the better. I do however spread the lights out to two different sockets. Even though I have a prelit tree I do add extra lights and this year I am adding 4 sets of bubble lights.
  9. Hmmm, well this is a tough one...I have a set budget of $100.00 per kid, and I shop year round for "deals" so the amount of gifts is different for all of them. When you have 4 grandkids and 3 kids and the spouses it is important to shop year round. *LOL*
  10. I would imgaine for those camping out some of them want them for the game itself, the others want them to place on e-bay.
  11. Mine is a plain old fashioned Christmas tree, the ornaments are generally the old fashioned blown with lots o glitter, I have noticed that I am leaning more toward trees and santas. I like to have the typical red, green and gold round ornaments as filler and the rest as the focal points. I usually purchase the collectable ornaments (Radko, Waterford, Polenaise, etc) then use the others as fillers. I try to buy one a year after they go on sale the day after Christmas, I've quite a nice collection now. Oh and while back I was in Marshalls and they had some of last years Waterford ornaments marked at $7.99, normally they were $75.00!!! I was a happy camper. By Waterford, I don't mean the crystal ornaments, I'm talking about the hand blown old fashioned ones.
  12. I would love to, however the nearest Kohl's is 150 miles from me, there isn't a Kohl's one in the state of Louisiana.
  13. Good I'm glad she was happy with her gifts and on top of that you get brownie points!!! Way to go, you're a good hubby!!!
  14. When I was younger; before sunscreen I was in the sun most of my young life, we spent every weekend at the lake, so sunburns were just part of summer. I have pigmentation changes that are quite prominent on my face, BE covers it without my face looking like I have a mask on, I don't have to use a lot to get it to cover. Try an introductory kit first and see if it works for you!!
  15. I don't know how good it is but I just purchased a Linksys G at Circuit City for $69.99 with the $40.00 in rebates it brings the price down to $29.99. Course I have to wait 8 weeks for the rebates, but oh well.
  16. Bare Escentuals can be found on QVC, Ulta or Sephora and also the brushes are a must with Bare Escentuals.
  17. During the day when I'm working around the house I keep it at 68, when the sun goes down I kick it up to 70 then at bedtime it kicks down to 60 downstairs. The upstairs is turned off all day and comes on about 9PM at 65.
  18. That would be it!! It's in powder form and takes some getting use to when applying cause a little goes a loooong way. But it is so worth it!! The majority of women wear a medium in color, I use medium and dark and mix it myself to get the color I want. Before I found it I had used every makeup under the sun and was never happy with it, but I haven't used anything but this since I found it. Believe me when another woman notices that your skin looks good and they have no clue you are wearing a foundation it's good stuff!! *LOL* And a good moisturizer underneath is a must!!!
  19. You're right a good day moisturizer and a good night cream may be the ticket and Origins is some of the best, but I also like Neutrogena moisturizers and Philosophy (but unless you live near a Sephora Philosophy is out). I also only wear Bare Escentuals makeup cause it is all natural, I haven't had any problems with my skin in the 4 years I have been using it. A container of it lasts me for a full year or more depending on how often I wear it. It lasts all day, I don't have the makeup lines or the dreaded separating during the day and it NEVER looks chalky. Bare Escentuals can be found on QVC, at Ulta or Sephora.
  20. I don't know, we went to Lafayette yesterday and the traffic was a nightmare, it was bad before Katrina and Rita, but now it's just impossible. The trick is to get out and about by 9AM and get out of town by noon especially on the weekdays. Weekends fergitaboutit. I just as soon drive through Houston as Lafayette right now, they were hit pretty hard with Katrina and Rita evacuees, and alot of them never left. The infrastructure and roads in Lafayette weren't engineered for as much traffic as they have now. Lake Charles isn't much better.
  21. Yet another store I won't be shopping in, I refuse to pay a restocking fee for any reason. I very rarely return anything, but in the event that I do I won't be paying a restocking fee. I haven't shopped in BB for years for various reasons, but the restocking fee was one of them.
  22. I've been doing rebates for as long as I can remember and yes, sometimes mistakes happen with the rebate company. And yes you did everything correct, always make copies of everything they rebate asks for. I've had them tell me they recieved part of the info and not other parts of it when it was all sent in together. No way it wasn't in the envelope. Sometimes I think they just want to get out of paying the rebate. Be persistent!! I also make a note of when the rebate should arrive on my calendar. I don't understand rebates though, why not just mark the price down by whatever the rebate is and let us purchase it at that price instead of making us cut out the upc, fill out the rebate and mail all that stuff in. Makes no sense since they have to hire a company to handle the rebates. Oh well..as long as they offer them I will continue to utilize them.
  23. Good point thanks for reminding me and everyone else. Some of the retailers aren't to happy about it.
  24. They are just trying to kick start the economy again. Unfortunately it isn't going to help th eones that lost everything including thier jobs.
