blaze_of_fire Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Has anyone seen any good deer guns in black Friday ads? I'm specifically looking for a bolt action 30-30, but will really take anything that would be decent for taking down a buck. Thanks.
Brad Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 nope, havent seen anything in any of the ads that have come out already
shopping mom Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Maybe Dicks Sporting Goods or Sports Authority will have something when they come out, if you have those in your area.
89MustangGX Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 If you're anywhere around here - G.I. Joe's seems to always come up with something.
best4less Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Oh No, don't kill Bambi! LOL I was thinking the same thing
TvBob Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Lol waiting periods would kind of defeat the purpose of black friday...but not the best image for our country seeing people line up for guns, race into the store and come out a few minutes later looking like rambo.

And don't many of the waiting periods apply only to handguns?

The stores must not have studied that demographic yet.
shanni Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 http://www.remington.com/pdfs/05_openseason_coupon.pdf There is a rebate on some remington shotguns if you find one of those you want.

The stores must not have studied that demographic yet. Something tells me that, unfortunately, those folks are going to commit suicide regardless of access to guns - and not many people commit suicide with hunting rifles, either.
kfinto65 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Oh No, don't kill Bambi! The stupid things get in the road and ran over anyway.... Ever see a car damaged by a deer? Not pretty! So thin them out before they get on the road! Besides, they are quite tasty!

At least in Texas we don't!
Mommie2one Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Maybe Dicks sporting goods and/or Gander Mountain.

freesia39 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 well i'm guessing you're glad you don't live in san francisco - they banned handguns, the purchase, sale, and posession of - in the city.
blaze_of_fire Posted November 14, 2005 Author Posted November 14, 2005 Oh wow... tons of replies haha. I was thinking Dicks, or Gander Mountain. Does anyone remember anything from last year regarding guns and BF?
shanni Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 The stupid things get in the road and ran over anyway.... Ever see a car damaged by a deer? Not pretty! So thin them out before they get on the road! Besides, they are quite tasty! I've hit them before and was stunned by the damage they do! I have to agree with you about being tasty mmmm nothing like Venison speedies.
krissy72 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Waiting period in Upstate NY is only for handguns. I do think Gander Mtn had them last year on BF. In Dicks flyer this Sunday they have a Marlin 30/30 lever action for 299.99. It has 6-shot magazine, hardwood stock, rifle scope, rings and bases.
Gporter34 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 WHEWWWW!!! Ther for a minute I thought this thread was about taking guns BF shopping with you. :sidesplit I was going to say I never have but, does it help? I'm glad that's not what it's about!!! But on the subject at hand, I LOVE deer chili!! Could someone send some this way?!?!?!
Spotted1 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 well i'm guessing you're glad you don't live in san francisco - they banned handguns, the purchase, sale, and posession of - in the city.Very few people deer hunt with handguns. And I'm willing to bet even less deer hunt within the San Francisco city limits.
erh12275 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Nothing about guns...maybe Sports Authority will have something.
TvBob Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Very few people deer hunt with handguns. And I'm willing to bet even less deer hunt within the San Francisco city limits.Well it may not ban all guns but according to the law "The gun ban prohibits the manufacture and sale of all firearms and ammunition in the city"
Galactus1800 Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I heard that all rifles will be 15% off at Sports Authority on BF
albrandwood Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 well i'm guessing you're glad you don't live in san francisco - they banned handguns, the purchase, sale, and posession of - in the city.yeah - kinda pointless if you ask me ... Chances are, if a gun was used in SF is bound to be for illegal activities, so the illegal act of ownership / posession / etc of the gun is probably secondary in the mind of the criminal. And the flip side, is that the criminally inclined will know that law abiding citizens will not be armed ... @
