  1. What exactly is a "Gold Box" deal? I haven't seen that before. Adam
  2. I wouldn't count on much for warranty or service -- Philips is getting out of the TV business and the website even says everything is sold "as-is." Adam
  3. When I print the card it comes out really small. Do I take that or just give the code? Thanks! Adam
  4. Went to the Seattle Premium Outlets and ended up parking nearly a mile away at the casino next door (not much parking there either!). Coach line was about 200 long, with other stores not as bad but still lines. Went into a couple and found lackluster sales and long lines to checkout. Ended up coming back later that night and only really missed out on 10% off at Coach and similar at other stores -- glad I didn't spend all night there. Adam
  5. This thread is about employees purchasing before any other customers. My point was that an employee should have to wait in line like everyone else - not have an advantage. If you give employees an advantage, you are defeating the whole purpose of the sale (which is of course to bring the customers into the store). I don't think it's nasty at all, I think that's fair. I've worked in retail before and like any other job, there may be disadvantages or things you don't like. That, in iteself, does not entitle employees to special privledges. Adam
  6. Having employees shop before customers makes absolutely no sense. The whole point of a sale is to draw customers into the store - not employees! If an employee isn't able to purchase a product for the same price or lower than a customer it sounds to me like the store should revise it's policies (benefits). There shouldn't have to be competition between employees and customers. Adam
  7. Personally, I don't see how this can be enforced unless it's stated in the Ad or in a policy somewhere -- and I've never seen that. Maybe try a different CC just to avoid the hassle if you really want more than one of the doorbusters.
  8. Just got the email with this years Invitation. It's a PDF about 1.5mb -- can email it here if we want to post it. Adam
  9. Personally, what offends me is when a store chooses to promote a single religion's holidays. That's why my feeling has always been keep it generic or celebrate them all. Other holidays, such as Hanukkah, had nothing to do with giving presents until the 20th Century, I believe, when many wanted an equivalent to Christmas. It's really a pretty low level holiday in the grand scheme of things and that is why you will likely not hear many people wishing others "Happy Hanukkah" or taking the days off work or keeping kids home from school. That doesn't mean there aren't many people celebrating it. Just something to keep in mind when forming opinions about how many people celebrate this and that and what's appropriate to say to others. Adam
  10. Probably more focused on not price matching/returning than checking more people out if I know BB like I think I do. All about "firing the bad customers." Adam
  11. Except that the only reason you stood in line for 10 hours was someone else was only willing to stand in line for 9 hours and you wanted to take their money. Falls into the same category as selling BF items if you ask me -- only reason you're doing it is to take advantage of other people. Adam
  12. Glad to hear it. I expected it thanks to advanced warning from here on the boards, but there were PLENTY of surprised people, and not all that happy with it either when they heard it was going to cost them another $80-$100+. Adam
