  1. Personally, I prefer the one from Ritz ... Yes, the one at Radioshack is 11.3" rather than 10.4" ... but it's widescreen ... which I don't think is that useful a format for photographs... (If it wasn't the obviouscost savings of using portable DVD player screens / in car entertainment screens, I'd wonder why they are doing so many widescreen photo frames.) (Plus RitzCamera is free shipping and no tax for me) @
  2. Some of these are available now! (why wait till Friday ...) Vivitar camera: $64.99 Rice Cooker: $49.99-$35 MIR = $14.99 Photoframe: $69.99-$30 MIR = $39.99 @
  3. All the digital picture frames use DC ... it is unlikely that they will use batteries since the LCD screen takes a lot of power. To use a US unit in UK, you have two options (a) if the AC adapter mentions 220 (eg: 110~220VAC), then you just need an outlet adapter (that will allow the Adapter to plug into the wall) (couple of bucks at RadioShack) click here. ( if not, then you have two other options ... (i) buy a step-down transformer (220V->110V) Example (ii) buy a transformer in the UK from Maplins/T2/Currys/Dixons/Comet/etc. there. On the adapter itself, it will also state the output voltage (eg: 12VDC) and the Amperage (eg 1000mA) ... as long as the replacement adapter will provide the voltage and amperage required, and has a matching barrel (the plug that goes into the frame) it will work. Hope this is of help... @
  4. My local does ... however, they process the check electronically (to ensure that there is a 99% chance it will clear) ... and will require ID etc before they will accept it @
  5. Walmart.com has the Garmin i2 for $198.88 ... same as the above, but greyscale (not color) ..
  6. yes ... there are seperate tickets for each of the premium items ... (not sure what WOW is, so I don't know if it will have tickets)
  7. I started at 1am, then moved it to 11pm, then decided that NOTHING was going to get me to stand outside BB for 6 hours in 23F and snow .... @
  8. No the recievers, accessories etc are proprietary ... If you want sirius subscription, then you'll need sirius hardware. @
  9. Yes, the discount codes are XM specific ... the website in question is branded by XM, and handled by their fulfilment company. @shley
  10. a) phone BB and tell them to remove the debt cancellation plan if you don't want it. the difference between "no interest" and "same as cash" ... To be honest, I'd recommend that you stop by CC and get them to confirm ... c) I'd recommend against getting credit for the sake of credit. @
  11. Last year, the main three were BB, Target and Kohls ... @
  12. I've done it ... in fact, I do it every time I go shopping with wifey ... if I didnt take the stuff out of her hands, it would cost me significantly more $$$ ... ;D @shley
  13. Ok, As a followup, according to other forums, Opie and Anthony are telling listeners to use the code : OPIANTXM6 ... Since they are broadcasting this on XM, one would assume that this is open to anyone. @
  14. Depends ... how bad is CC around you normally? if you _really_ want it, think early ... very early ... (of course, weather may make a difference as well)
  15. "Governor" was a typo.As for getting executive branch getting involved in private civil disputes ... the name "Terri Schiavo" springs to mind...
  16. Refunds so, avoid "notebook PCs, multimedia projectors, PDAs, handheld computers, and digital cameras" .. or any Custum ordered products. (I'd probably avoid the GPS just incase) stick to things like the LCD monitors, Furniture, Printers, LCD TV :) (Furniture should have a NICE cost for them to ship ) As for PM ... yes they do as long as they are identical products.. They will match instant discounts, but not Rebates etc. Low Price Guarantee
  17. You got your URL's wrong :-) www.fatonion.net/odbf1.jpg www.fatonion.net/odbf2.jpg www.fatonion.net/odbf3.jpg www.fatonion.net/odbf4.jpg www.fatonion.net/odbf5.jpg www.fatonion.net/odbf6.jpg www.fatonion.net/odbf7.jpg www.fatonion.net/odbf8.jpg PS ... you may want to disable directory listing on your webserver :-)
  18. With regard to the FL laws themselves, the example C&D letter may have been sent to a FL website etc. There are both state, Federal and International laws regarding copyright / tradesecret / etc ... and it may be that it was easier to threaten FL law, than Federal Law ... I'm sure that the Republican Govenor of FL would probably not worry about little details of juristiction ... (he's certainly never worried about the seperation of church & state issues). He's always shown himself to be in favor of big companies vs individuals. As for fighting these legal issues, FatWallet.com (for one) spent over $50k in 2003 fighting these notices ...
  19. Actually, as opposed to previous years, they were the only company to issue C&D letters ... Even BB who has ALWAYS sent out C&D letters let it slide last year ... I'm betting that next year, no-one is going to send out C&D letters ... I suspect that OD only did it cos they didn't have the doorbuster prices ... afterall, everyone was complaining about the cheapest (BTO) laptop costing more (shipping NOT included) ... the advertisied Toshiba (which is identical to the BB model, expect I believe XP Pro rather than Home) was $499AR as opposed to $379 no rebate. If you want to really PO officeDepot ... order the doorbusters online and then return the items ... When asked why? tell them that you "changed your mind do their pre-BF behavior toward BF forums" ... that way a) They sell a tonne of stuff at minimal profit. Pay UPS/Fedex/Whoever a bunch of money for shipping (two lots). c) Your reason will be documented on their computers. d) They will have a LARGE number of computers etc that will have to be sold in clearance, as open box items... which you could then buy even cheaper :-D Suggestions for this include: the 19"LCD, non-BTO notebooks, Garmin GPS, PDa's, etc ... THAT will have a bigger hit on the bottom line, than avoiding the store. And hopefully, it will get senior managements notice. Just remember to a) use a creditcard :-) and return within 2 weeks :-D so you don't get billed by your creditcard :-) @ @
  20. 5eX ? :-D Failing that, anything that friends have, that he doesn't ... But it has to be bigger and better ... (and NOT a tie that says "#1 Dad"):-)
  21. I dont know if mine do, but I'm taking my laptop, with both WiFi network _AND_ cellular modem cards :-) The only question is how long the batteries are gonna last ...
  22. With regard to the SkyFi2, or Roady2, the car/home kits are "docking" stations that give easy access to the provided antennas, power supplies and tape/stereo cabling. You don't _need_ to use a docking station, but by the time you purchase an antenna, and power supply, you may as well by a docking station for it. Specific to the SkyFi2 sized units are the boomboxes ... these will allow you to listen to XM wherever you have a south visible sky, and batteries.... great for the beach. Most XM (and I'd assume Sirius) satelite radio have FM broadcasting abilities ... this means that they will work with any existing car radio (assuming you can find a useable channel). Alternatively, if you have a cassette player in the car, you can use a standard cassette adapter for those. The exception to the rule is the XMDirect adapter (this is for integrated in-car systems) With regard to the XMDirect - These are designed to be installed in your car ... they are effectively a two-part installation, as they use special adapters to integrate with existing radios... These are available for some DaimlerChrysler, Ford and other models. With OEM equipment, they usually pretend to be CD Changers. Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood and others, they have dedicated adapters that allow the use of the XMDirect. XMDirect + Adpters are a much neater solution for the car, not having any visible wires, permenant mounted antennas etc, but generally cost more than the transportable units such as XMCommander, XM Roady2, XM SkyFi2. There is also an unauthorized adapter to allow XMDirect to be connected to a PC, and controlled through a USB port. Note that in these cases, the sound is _NOT_ played through the PC. Only control is made from the PC. For the Home Audio systems, there are limited options ... XM has the Polk "reference audio reciever" which has digital outputs for high quality sound. Yamaha & Sony (amoung others) have also released a couple of HomeTheatre Recievers that have built in XM recievers, and just need a special XM Antenna ($50) to be used... Expect any of these Home Audio versions to be pricey though. Hope this is more help ... @
  23. Yeah - that appears to be a technicallity ... In the 2 years that the deal has been on other forums, there have not been any reports of the company ever verifing or charging retail. There are known problems with adding these to existing family plans. There are also known issues where the radios arrive, and are set up before the billing information is passed to XM ... but those are usually cleared up by waiting a couple of days. The company behind it, is actually just a fulfillment company for XM-Radio (as well as TiVo and DirecTV amoung others). Hope this helps. @shley
  24. if she REALLY wants a truebred retriever with a pedigree, then I'd second the above. Alternatively, be kind to a dog, and go to a rescue center. Do not support Petland or any other pet shop. They are cruel, and in-humaine places. And PLEASE remind her, that a puppy is for LIFE (approx 10-15 years) not just for Xmas. @
  25. they'd be better off having the rebates sent to family members addresses ... (or friends ... or both)
