    Menards

Me too aimrico! This is the last one I'm waiting on, other than a local electronics store.
  5. I've always LOVED Christmas, everything from putting up the tree, lights, decorations, shopping, music, tv shows, presents...everything! The last couple years, however, dh and 2 sons (19 & 13 this year) just brought me down, complaining when it comes time to put up the tree and decorate. DH and younger son will help IF I ASK, but if I ask my older son, he grumbles, complains and does what I ask then disappears. I'm just dreading it this year. Last year I put the tree up by myself while they were at work and school. DH did say it looked nice, but that's about it. I'm thinking about not even putting anything up this year, just waiting to see if THEY ask anything about it. We always used to have Christmas at my parents' house until my mom got sick, then a few years ago we started doing Christmas here. Last year we had to beg my mom and dad to come over, this year I KNOW they won't come because of my mom's sickness. My grandma who usually comes is in a nursing home (she's 91) so she won't be able to come over. It'll just be my family and my 2 sisters and their families. We have Christmas here because it's centralized for everyone. Maybe I just need a kick in the pants to get myself in the mood this year.

    Meijer

Maybe it's because I don't NEED anything specific this year, but I was disappointed in the Meijer ad this year (along with most of the others). I didn't really see any great deals.
  7. On Thanksgiving when we were kids, we would put the name of each family member on a slip of paper (there were 4 of us at the time). Then we'd each pick a name and try and keep it a secret. Mom and Dad would give my sister and I a few dollars and sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve the 4 of us would go shopping for the person whose name we drew. Then on Christmas Eve we'd have a little "pre-Christmas" party (mostly because my sister and I couldn't wait till Christmas to open presents! lol). We'd have snacks and play a couple Christmas games. Then we'd each get 2 or 3 slips of paper and write directions on the first slip. Those directions would lead us to the next slip of paper and so on. On the last slip of paper we'd write where we hid the gift. After we all had our gifts found, we'd sit and open them. A simple idea in simple times, but we always had fun and kept doing this until I (the oldest) moved out.
  8. I love the BF webcasts. I always learn so much about BF that I didn't already know. Since I don't live in an area with a lot of these stores, this helps me decide if I should try to get the big items online.
  9. I keep refreshing, but still nothing.

    Meijer

Yeah, I'm not seeing that happen. I think they were pulling your leg.

    Menards

I'm hoping for some great deals at Menards again this year. We just got a good size rebate in the mail and I can't wait to use it that day!
  12. Whenever I make a list, I always put needs on it (laundry detergent, softner, t.p., tissues, stuff we always use but that I don't really like to spend money on) and not wants. There's never anything I really want. This year, though, I want a nice set of bed sheets and not just some cheap things I pick up that don't last long. I'd also like to have a new mattress for our bed and I NEED new clothes. I'm picky and never like anything or can't find anything in my size (I shop at thrift stores for my own clothes).
  13. My favorite thing about Black Friday is the time I get to spend alone with my sister. No kids, no husbands, just spending time together getting great deals and people watching!
  14. I do! I love writing personal messages inside the cards and addressing them. I love getting them in the mail, but have to say I've been getting fewer and fewer each year. I know a lot of people complain about the cost of postage, but honestly, can you hand-deliver a card to other states or even cities for the cost of a stamp?
  15. I think that if you're going to get in line early enough to get a ticket, you'd be a nut to sell it! Don't people who do this have anything better to do with their time than to get in line, sometimes days early, just to make a little money?
  16. Thanks everybody...sounds like Target is the place to go!
  17. DS, age 12, asked for the zip up pajamas with feet in them. Where can I find some in his size, maybe 14/16 boys?
  18. In my opinion, the stores that I go to don't have BF ads that are any better than their weekly sales ads. Maybe it's because we don't have the money to spend on BF this year (won't stop my sister & I from going out, though!), but I'm not really seeing any great deals.
  19. I love the idea of breakfast in bed! My kids are older but I still may use that one! Seems like no one is interested in breakfast when there are presents just waiting to be opened!
  20. Sounds like a great deal, but they only have limited sizes. Unfortunately, not the sizes I need.

    13 Days!!!

DH doesn't really go out on BF, he leaves that to my sister and I, unless there's something he really wants. But this year he's the one counting down the days for us!
  22. Same here. Maybe they're running late getting the sale started?
  23. Thanks Brad! What a great surprise when I logged on this morning and noticed I had a notification telling me I won! Can't wait to get it!

  25. Okay, talk to me like I'm 2! My son wants a tablet for Christmas, but I don't know anything about them. Are the $80 good ones as opposed to the ipad? There's no way we can afford the ipad, or a generic one either for that matter, but relatives are asking for Christmas lists from kids already. You can surf the net on them, right? Do they have anything to do with apps you see everywhere? Do you have to subscribe to something to use them (we have a wireless router in our house) like a cell phone? Sorry for sounding so stupid, but I'm an old fogey here and don't do well with technology anymore! Everything changes so fast!
