  1. Mine came today. Thanks, Brad!
  2. This is probably something obvious, but just because 20 pairs of pantyhose for $1 SEEMS like a good deal, if you don't wear pantyhose, you're wasting your money. That was just an example, but if it is something you'll never use or can't see giving as a gift, save your money, no matter how good of a deal it is.
  3. My son has had trouble with a lot of the plastic Transformers toys. I don't think he's overly hard on them, but when he tries taking them out of the package, a lot of times a piece will break off. Other than that, I don't think I've ever returned anything faulty. I have returned clothes that didn't fit, or an item that I bought for someone (usually my parents) that they tell me cost too much so they had me return it and keep the money.
  4. I could be wrong (after all, it HAS happened before!), but I thought I remember reading somewhere in previous years that you could price match items at Amazon. Can you still do this and, if so, how does it work? I have some credit at Amazon, but see things in the BF ads that I like and couldn't afford if I had to pay cash for them.
  5. I was thinking the one I saw today was $179 maybe?
  6. Did they have Skylanders last year? I'm not real familiar with it, but did notice it in the ad I saw today only because it is on my son's list.
  7. Sorry, I didn't pay attention to TV sizes since I'm not in the market for one. I just saw that there were several in the ad.
  8. Today on Facebook, one of my friends had the link to another BF site (GASP!!) they had the Walmart ad posted! It got removed pretty quickly, but I did get a look at it. Nothing different than other years, TVs, laptops, cheap DVD movies, jeans, PJs, jewelry, same old stuff. I think their sales start at 8 p.m. & 10 p.m. Thanksgiving night, then another one at 5 on Friday morning. The one thing that caught my eye was Xbox 360 with Skylanders pack for under $200. That is on my son's list, but I don't know if it will be doable for us or not.
  9. After dinner, my sister and I sit down with the ads and make a list of what we hope to get. Before the stores started opening on Thanksgiving night, we would sleep for a while, then get up at maybe 2:00 and head out to get in line. Now, depending on what is on sale during the early sales, we might go out in hopes of getting something during those sales. For lunch, we always stop at Arbys.
  10. Hugs to you. Hope things pick up for you. Christmas is my favorite time of year too, but I've been dealing with a lot lately too. My mom was in the hospital for a while, is now in a nursing home, not really getting any better. I've been doing all my parents' housework, bill paying, etc. for over a year and a half now. My dad still works and my mom has always done everything for him. Since he's still working, I go over every day and pack his lunch, do dishes, laundry, sweep, dust, pay bills...everything. Plus taking care of my own family. I'm a stay-at-home mom, youngest has ADD and many issues at school, husband's hours got cut at work. I could go on and on, but I'm trying to focus on the things I have that a lot of people don't. Christmas will be slim this year, but we'll be together.
  11. I'm stuck on this one too. My son is 14, but has ADD and is immature for his age. He still likes Legos and Transformers, but he has so many of each of those, I don't really want to buy him more. He doesn't really do much else besides those 2 things. He's not into the cologne or scented body sprays, no hobbies or other likes. He watches movies, but super hero movies are his favorite (Ironman, Transformers, etc.) and he has all those. I'm at a loss, but will be watching this thread for ideas!
  12. I don't really WANT anything, but my family wants a list, so the only things I've put on it so far are things I NEED. Laundry detergent, soap, body wash, new hand towels for the bathroom, etc. Luckily I have some Amazon GCs built up so I'll do most of my shopping there.
  13. I've saved up and redeemed points from doing surveys and have some Amazon credit built up. I've never done BF shopping on Amazon, but am looking forward to it.
  14. I'm hoping the merchandise on their weekly sales are priced really, really low. It's always a tight time of year for us, but this year is worse. Looking to score some great deals.
  15. My sister and I started going out, I believe, in 1998. We've gone every year since then, except one when she was out of town. But I went alone. When we were kids, we started our Christmas shopping one year the day after Thanksgiving (wasn't called Black Friday then). It was more crowded than normal, but nothing NEAR what it is today.
  16. Photo #1: And this is only the first page of my 52 page long list! Photo #2: WWBF...World Wrestling on Black Friday. Photo #3: Maybe I can sing everyone to sleep so I can be the 1st one in the store when the doors open.
  17. Something similar to this? Maybe the crown could be smaller and words larger, but something like this? I like the long sleeve option for the weather around here.
  18. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer Ruldoph's Shiny New Year A Claymation Christmas Little Drummer Boy Frosty the Snowman How The Grinch Stole Christmas Charlie Brown Christmas Jack Frost
  19. This won't be much of a Thanksgiving, BF or Christmas for us. My grandma just passed away last night. She always enjoyed looking at our tree, lights and decorations so I will be decorating our house for her.

    DVD/CD lists?

I'd like to know this too. I saw that somewhere has tv seasons on sale. I'd love to get my son Law & Order SVU, but I'm not going to stand in any long lines if I can find out before hand that those aren't even offered in the sale. I wish they'd list which ones they have available in the ads instead of just putting "100's of titles available."

    Menards

I hope so. I haven't seen much in the other ads to get me excited and Menards usually has stuff I want.
  22. In my opinion, all the Black Friday ads are a joke. There might be one or two decent deals, but come on! With the economy being what it is, I was hoping to see some deals, not just a couple dollars off their regular, every day prices. Also, the $$ off your next purchase for buying something a normal price isn't a deal. Seeing these prices doesn't make me want to spend any money that day. Luckily, I've been spotting decent deals throughout the year and buy when I can.
