Received mine today. They're great! I'll wear it proudly!

That's awesome! Thanks, Brad!

I try to buy the same amount of gifts for each of my boys then they each open one at the same time. It'll be different this year, though. Our oldest moved out and into a small apartment since last Christmas and has already told me he doesn't need, nor has the space for, anything this year so it'll just be our youngest, my husband and me on Christmas morning. I will still get our oldest son stuff, but it will be stuff he needs and gift cards or cash. At my dad's house, where both my sisters and their families meet up in the afternoon, it's just kind of a free-for-all. It's chaotic but we've vowed to scale down this year because we all have accumulated more debt this year and are spending less on gifts so hopefully it will be better.

I don't know if people consider it strange, but it makes me angry when I see parents bringing newborn babies or small kids in their pjs out shopping. The kids look like they'd rather be home in bed and who can get any shopping done when you're carting along a newborn? With those big BF crowds, I'd be afraid someone could snatch the kids away or, in the case of newborns, spreading all those germs to them. I'm fortunate that my hubby was always able to keep the kids at home while my sister and I went BF shopping. If I didn't have anyone to stay with the kids, I'd have skipped shopping that day and went on another day. Maybe I'm just an old coot, but that really bothers me.

October already! Goodness, this year has just flown by! Now the ads should be coming out, slowly at first, as usual, then fast and furious. Can't wait!

Congratulations!!

Not technically a Black Friday "ad", but the owner of the local gun store told my husband yesterday what some of their Black Friday prices are going to be for ammo and supplies. Now HE'S getting excited for BF, which never happens! lol

It's coming quick! What's your Black Friday budget for this year?

Unfortunately, not much this year. We had things come up throughout the year that we're still paying on so we didn't get as much put into the Christmas Club as I would have liked. But as someone mentioned above, my kids are older now and don't need/expect much. Our older son moved into a small apartment this year so he only wants basic stuff he can use (he's turning into his momma! ) They both have gaming systems that they're happy with and decent TVs so no plans to purchase any big ticket items here either. -
Count me in! Sending my info soon!

Thank you for replying to Elmck. My copy of the movie is on VHS and I'd love to get it on DVD so I don't have to drag out the VCR. I've never see The Thanksgiving Treasure so I'd be interested in checking that out too.

My kids are older now (25 & 19 at Christmastime), but we still sit down and watch the Christmas shows and movies they watched when they were younger (and some from when I was a kid)...Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, A Christmas Story, Elf, To Grandmother's House We Go, A House Without a Christmas Tree, and even Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. There are a few others we watch too, but these are the main ones.

I'd love to know where he found those! I'm not a Star Wars fan but I know a couple people who would love them!

Yet another reason to stop shopping at Walmart. I like that there is one relatively close to my house and their prices are pretty good, but first they stop price matching, now this. I can usually figure tech things out pretty quickly, depending on what it is, but this sounds like more of a headache than anything. We do have another grocery store that costs a little more (it is a family-run store that has been in business for years), but their food, especially meat and produce, are much fresher and taste a lot better. Guess I'll be doing even more, if not all, of my shopping there.

My son had mentioned wanting something like a Roomba for his apartment but didn't want to spend that much money on that brand. A couple months ago I saw a different brand with good reviews for around $100 using coupon codes. I'm kicking myself right now for not buying it when I saw it! Has anyone seen anything similar at an affordable price? Thanks in advance.

Awesome prizes! I'd love to win any of them! Thanks for another chance to win such great prizes!

Good to know! I've been looking for a new washer. We bought a Maytag just over a year ago. We started having problems with it shortly after we bought it (several different things). All customer service would tell us was to schedule a service appointment. The tech could never find anything wrong with it. Asked for a refund and they told me they couldn't do that. Trouble, trouble, trouble. After a while they stopped responding to my complaints so I went to the BBB. Funny how those 3 little letters can make a company respond! Got a phone call right away offering me a refund on the washer. They told me 2-3 weeks...it' been 2 1/2 weeks now and I'm still waiting. I've been doing research on different brands of washers. Looking at the reviews, they all have mostly good reviews along with scattered bad reviews. We've had Maytag washers in the past and never had any trouble till this one. The thing is, there aren't any manufacturers now that make things to last and their customer service isn't what it should be. All the companies now just want to make the sale and be done with it. Does anyone have a washer that they just love and would recommend? I prefer a top load.

I really don't like seeing summer end, but on the other hand, Black Friday is now less than 3 months away!

Today was our work day before the new school year starts and let me tell you something...my feet are definitely NOT ready for regular shoes, let alone socks! I can't tell you the last time I had socks on! My footwear, if I do wear shoes during the summer, consists of sandals, flip flops or slip on shoes. So not ready for this! lol

I got 2 e-mail notifications from 2 different people. Both were regarding the same subject. When I came here you had already given them the boot. Thanks for all you do!

Gosh, I was sitting here thinking, "Where has summer gone?" I work at our local school and will be starting in about 3 weeks already...I'm so not ready to go back yet! Summer has just flown by this year! Then I thought, "Where has the year gone?" It's August already! It seems like I was just in the store shopping on Black Friday and it will be here again before we know it. Time really needs to slow down!

Seriously?! That's still July! Crazy!
-
July already?! Thought I better check in now before the month flies by like the rest did! We're heading out on vacation in a couple days and going somewhere just as hot or hotter than it has been in NW Ohio lately. But at least we're going to a beach and will have the Gulf waters to help keep us cool! Unless we decide to visit the other coast of Florida, in which case the Atlantic Ocean will help keep us cool.

Thanks for the advice...I'll take any I can get!

Ugh! My dishwasher is acting up and I'm not sure if I can make it hold out for a Black Friday deal. Not even sure if they have deals on dishwashers on BF so I'm guessing I'll just have to keep an eye out for a good deal. Moved our older son out today. He's almost 25 so it was time, but I'm sad at the same time. Praying he'll make it ok on his own.

I can't believe it's June already! It seems like I was just decorating for Christmas a few short weeks ago. My son's graduation party was yesterday and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! The weather was perfect, a yard full of family and friends, good food (almost the perfect amount) and a great time overall! Before you know it, it will be time to get the Christmas decorations out again. Have a great June everyone!
