Well, honestly I don't use it that much. Mostly when I go on a long car trip, then I just keep it charged in the car. I do know that it is not as long as the iPad and the Thrive. If I had to guess, maybe 5ish hours... What seems to be bad is the standby battery life. Sorry, should have said that in the first post. If I leave it in standby instead of turning it completely off, the battery drains faster than our iPad and my son's Thrive. If I leave it overnight with a full charge, it may be at about 85% the next afternoon with just siittng in standby. But again, if I just keep it charged when I'm not using it...

I really like my Galaxy Tab2. I have the 7in, and it's a good size for me. Fits in my purse nice. I haven't missed anything that it doesn't have or doesn't do. But I'm not very demanding. I do like that it has 2 cameras, and an SD slot, not that I've used either! But I'm glad they're there if I need to. It's fast, and looks good. The only thing that I don't love, is the battery life. But as long as I keep it charged every night, then I'm usually okay.

My Rite-Aid was open on Thanksgiving Day the last two years. But you're right, the ad does say Friday. Hmmm... Wonder if they are changing this year. This subforum has all the ad listings/scans http://forums.gottadeal.com/forumdisplay.php?164-Black-Friday-Posted-Ads

Remember, if you go to the main Black Friday Site, there is the ability to make a list directly on the site. I use this feature every year! http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/ShoppingList

Well, the things on my kids' list so far are a Surface and Windows phones. Don't expect to see either of those in the ads!! The thing I am most excited about so far is toilet paper at Walgreen's! We run out in May every year, so I'm hoping to at least make it to July!

StationChief has been nice enough to provide us with comparison charts of all the electronics. http://blackfridaycharts.com

One of my Walgreen's is actually 24 hours, so the sale starts at midnight. My other opens early, 7 or 8, I always have to go check the store.

I have this tablet and love it... Especially for that price!!

I have bought things from Best Buy online for the last couple years. Just keep refreshing the page and wait for the prices to change. I took my laptop to bed with me last year and put it on the nightstand and woke up every hour to check.

Actually, iPads do not even have SD slots. They are more expensive for a few reasons, different hardware, and just the fact that it is Apple. The other tablets mostly run Android, but run different versions. You will want to get one with a more up-to-date version of Android. Also, make sure it has access to the Google Play store, as not all the cheaper ones do. That's where most of the popular games are, if you think he will be concerned with games and apps. Some tablets have back cameras only, some have front and back. With those you can Skype and such. I got one for my DS16 (was 15) last year, and the things I looked for were SDSlot and 2 cameras, and access to app store. He loves his, uses it a lot, for school and play. Now, my younger son started asking for an iPad last spring, and found out what he wanted was just the ability to play games with his frinds who had iPods. So, an iPod was the answer for him. Which brings up one more consideration. Does he already have any device that uses apps? Or anything in iTunes? If any platform has already been invested in heavily, you may want to stick with that platform.

I usually pick up some of the Creatology art sets to stash for gifts. But now that my youngest is 13, guess that won't be as useful. I do like that Ottlite Task Lamp, and the candy cane striped duck tape!!

I've also had real good luck getting games at TRU, they usually offer GC deals with games. Bu tI think my impatitient clan has all they want already, so not much left to buy... DOA, Assassin's Creed, Halo 4 (2 copies), and Forza all were purchased on release day...

I'm always the world's worst when it comes to giving my want list. Maybe reading these posts will help me think of ideas too.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2012
bluebear replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Went to the "further" Target tonight right before closing, and I'm so glad I did. Found a bunch more Mac and Cheese, got about 15 more, there were at least 10 more left. My daughter came home from college this weekend and took some of what I got last week, and I have 2 teenage boys, one of which eats an entire box in a sitting... Also found some pretty picture frames, off-white and turquoise with glitter, in the clearance, 70% off. I just took some pictures of my kids this weekend, and 2 were wearing turquoise! -
I am just on their email list. I do not have a card.

Interesting, because all the cereal rang up full price at my store. The matching fruit snacks were clearanced though, so I did get lots of those. I'll check again today. -
Jcpenney extra 30% off clearance--big great deals in my local store
bluebear replied to go2grl's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I also finally made it today, with $10/$10 coupon in hand. Didn't find lots, but that's okay, I really just like to go hunt. Did find ds16 some jeans and husband a shirt (he recently started a new job and is needing new clothes so this was nice). But, I made the mistake of glancing over at the jewelry counter... So, I was nice enough to get my Christmas present from my husband. There were 3 other things I would have liked, so maybe I can keep checking on those. Also, the lady told me that she didn't know what the store would be doing for Black Friday, but that they will be doing this same 30% Clearance sale at least one more time before Christmas. -
I have ordered from Staples 2 or 3 years online on BF morning and always got what I needed without having to go into the store.

The last couple years T-Mobile has done a weekend in February of free (after rebate) smartphones (with a contract) if you can wait until then.

So apparently, Target is running a special this week, B3G1 on Kraft Mac and Cheese. Even works on the Trick or Cheesy Halloween ones. I do not see it in the ad, but that's how it rung up on my receipt. I bought 8 at 1 store and 2 came up free.
