  1. Okay, if you check here you can read the small print better. It does say that those are in-store only. http://bestbuy.shoplocal.com/bestbuy/default.aspx?action=entryflash&promotioncode=112411MWSNKPK&sneakpeek=y&_inv_out=9883&_inv_cp=1983879
  2. Typically, the things on the very front page are store-only door busters, as those are the items that they give tickets out for. Of course, that could always change...
  3. My oldest, who does like to read, got a Kindle 2 years ago when he was 13. I went out on a limb on that, because that's when e-readers were just coming popular and he didn't even know they existed. Luckily, it was a big hit, and he loved it. So did his little brother who was 10. So, last year for Christmas, grandma got both boys new Kindles, and they both love them, even the little one who just "likes" to read, not loves it. (And I got the "hand-me-down"!) My oldest is in Honors English, and he does about half and half. Some books he would rather have in hand, but he does get a lot on Kindle. I try to always make sure he has a gift card handy to make purchases with so no unexpected charges come out of the bank. It's nice when he remembers the day before that he needs a book, no more running around the bookstores looking for one! The youngest (12) much prefers having his books on Kindle. Before counting on that though, I would make sure with the school and/or teacher that they will allow it. Some may not.
  4. Both paint and glue are listed on the prohibited list for USPS. I know I had a friend that wanted to ship a lot of acrylic paint in a move, and was told no. Maybe you can get an additional gift card for him to buy the materials? He may have fun picking out different colors of paint anyway... From the website: Some common hazardous materials include… Perfumes Nail polish Flea collars or flea sprays Aerosols Bleach Pool chemicals Paints Matches Batteries Fuels or gasoline Airbags Dry ice Mercury thermometers Cleaning supplies Items previously containing fuel Glues Fireworks
  5. Yes, for playing those kinds of games, a netbook would be best. Good luck! :)
  6. That's what I've done the last couple years with both CVS and Walgreen's. We have a few of each around, so it's easy to make trips to multiple stores. But, when I went past my 24 hour CVS yesterday, they had a big easel outside that said Thanksgiving hours. Of course I couldn't see what they actually were while I was driving, and couldn't pull in at the time. I'll have to mkae a trip past there again before Wednesday so I'll know for sure!
  7. Yep! I used to get my boys these every year from Target. Until last year when they finally stopped wearing them at ages 11 and 14. I love those pajamas.
  8. Yay! Thanks Brad! :) Glanced through real quick, a few things that caught my eye. They have a ladder again, but not the one like they used to. And unless I missed them, no batteries. Neat Dremel set though. Too bad I just got the Trio last month.
  9. Last year the paper gal was making the same rounds as me at the drug stores. I saw her at all 3 I went to! :) A couple years ago though I did have to go to a few stores to get mine. I had been having it delivered, so I didn't realize how hard they were to come by once I stopped getting delivery. I know now!
  10. I'm always so hard, drives my mom and husband crazy. Mama got me a Windows Phone this past weekend for my Christmas present, so she should be about done. :) I would really like for someone to come clean my house, and my carpet, or better yet, replace my carpet! But yeah, that won't happen. I could use some new kitchen rugs and placemats. A gift certificate to my local dollhouse store. There's a table I've been eyeing, but I won't ever buy it for myself. But, if I saved up GCs... A new pair of pajamas To get my 2 broken diamond bracelets fixed. A guilt-free really nice dinner out. I am no fun.
  11. Okay, I'm hard. As usual. I need a laptop with a video card, at least an i5. I was hoping that Best Buy maybe would have something, but doesn't look like any of those have video cards. Was hoping to stay closer to $500-600, but I guess I'll be closer to $700. Found a couple for $650 or so at NewEgg, but the best deal so far I've found is directly from Dell at $693. If anyone has any ideas or sees anything good anywhere I've missed... :)
  12. Oh, I am so sorry, I hate decisions like this, especially since I am the QUEEN of indecision. Reading all the responses, I am still torn for you, they are all good ideas. Last year my daughter wanted a laptop and a Zune, plus just a couple other little things. She knew that would be it, but she's 18. Well, I've always loved buying gifts, and I like to see all the presents for them as much as the kids do. Plus, I had to have a nice spread under the tree from Santa, a lot for the younger kids' sake. She was a senior, so I got her cheap little plastic plates, bowls, and cups on clearance to take to college. Very cheap, and worked as a nice filler. Good luck! I'm sure either way would be good, especially if you take her first thing the next morning to get it. I personally would go ahead and get it though and get a few more little things. Cute socks, gloves, lotions, can all be wrapped...
  13. I have the opposite problem. My 11yo son does not want toys, hasn't in a couple of years. Or he'll ask for a couple, then they don't get played with. He thinks he's older like his brother. Last year he got a Zune, and just loves it, uses it constantly. Digital cameras are a great idea, or even a little video camera. This year he is getting a Kindle, and new stuff for his room to make it a "big boy room" - posters, new sheets, etc. On another note, my 14yo son is actually the one that still asks for, and plays with, both Legos and Transformers, so if that's what he wants, and he plays with it, I say buy it for him!
  14. Still 75% here too, but at least I got to do a recon mission, to see there's not really a need to get up at 7am tomorrow too! Did see a few things that they had just put out last night.
  15. I think they mean because the $89 is already 25% off the regular price. It looks like for a short time they "double-saled" it. It still shows as part of the 25% sale, but at $89.99.
  16. Thank you! I was just about to buy Wall-E and Nightmare Before Christmas at Amazon, now I'll go to Walmart with coupons and save $6!
  17. Thank you so much! This was on the top of my son's "really want" list. We still have the old original one still in the box, but he wants this one more because he likes the mini figures in it. I saw more sets he would like, but this makes 3 lego sets for Christmas, and we'll be lucky if those all get built! Thanks again for the great deal!
  18. I got the ladder! Finally! My store was great, people everywhere to help.
  19. I got the Xbox last year with the gift card. They did not have very many. I got there a little before 6:30 or so and they had only 2 left. It was in lockup like usual, so you did have to go and find a person, but that wasn't hard. But, it had to be paid for in Electronics. They held it for me while I ran and got my other important things, which wasn't many. I don't think they'll ring up very large orders in that line. But, the other lines weren't too bad, so I got a few more things and went through the normal line. Good luck!
  20. We also use the Zune Marketplace. My daughter and husband both had an ipod before their Zunes, and like the Zunes so much more. My daughter's was stolen, and she wanted another one instead of an ipod to replace it.
  21. We love ours. 6 Zunes, 5 people. My kids were 9, 11, and 16 when they got theirs, and they love them. We put movies and TV shows on there for the younger ones, and they love that.
  22. We are a Zune family. 6 Zunes, 5 people. Don't ask, haven't figured it out myself yet. The Zune Marketplace is awesome. You can put podcasts, movies, and TV shows on a Zune, and also hook it to your TV and/or Xbox. Zune also has FM radio, and games. My kids are 9,12, and 17, and they all love it and can use it easliy.
  23. Yea! They have the ladder again. Every year I say I want to get one, then I don't feel like messing with it and talk myself out of it, then all year wish I had it... Wish me luck actually following through this year!
  24. Last year I was told I could, and finally earned my first reward and received it last week! WooHoo! I plan to pay off my balance before then, and and fill it up again, to earn more points. I wish I had a higher limit.
  25. I've been looking out for a hard drive too. I was hoping to get 1TB too, 750GB at the least. I was wanting to stay below $100, and it looks like I may be able too. Thanks for the info, I'll be checking Newegg regularly. When I bought my first computer, it had a 210MB HD. My friends were saving up for a 500MB (Yes MB, not GB), which was $500 at the time. $1/MB, what a bargain!
