Sling Media - The Slingbox SOLO
bluebear replied to racerfan's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Ours is connected to our router. All of our -stuff- is all in one spot in the living room. The TV also doubles as the Xbox display, and sometimes also another computer monitor. Anyhow, what you will need is a power inline something. You plug the SlingBox into it, then plug that into a power jack in the wall (NOT a power strip). Then you do the same for the router. They sell non-sling branded ones at BB and places, or there is an "official" one on their site. http://www.slingbox.com/go/slt On more thing. The SlingBox is basically a controller for your DVR. So, when your husband is watching the Slingbox, it will occupy that TV. It will show what he is watching (if you turn it on). Hope this makes sense. -
Sling Media - The Slingbox SOLO

We have a Slingbox, and my husband uses it all the time. He loves it. He installed the app on the iPad, and walks around the house watching TV on the iPad... He will also watch while we're at my mom's for Sunday dinner. He watches both live TV and recorded things. He also has it on his phone, and sometimes will watch there too, or listen to a news show while he's in the car. -
Oh yikes. Yeah, it seems the Nspire is the latest thing in the math world. I was talking to a math teacher this morning and he was saying that they are going to be using it more. It has software that the schools can purchase to go with it, and he said that they are about to have it installed for the entire math department. (I am the computer tech, so that's my job) I was surprised, because it seems to be a little more complicated than the TI-84. And my boys school still says 84 or 89, the 89 for higher maths. When my daughter had this teacher I was talking to, seems like she needed the Nspire for stat, but was fine with the other. But this was a few years ago. Good luck! Hope you find something!

Well I just went last night just to make it easier and make sure. My kids start Tuesday, so I needed to get them now anyway. Good thing too, because they were pretty much out of what we needed. It was either get our 2nd choice of color, or drive 15 miles and get right color but bigger size... I remembered when we got home that last year they were nice and ordered me what I needed and shipped it free. Wasn't worth it to go back up there though.

Looks like a neat store. How funny! Actually, that East Point store is only 23 miles from me... Hmmm

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2012
bluebear replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
70% at my 2 Targets. There was a pretty good selection at one store, signs still said 50%. The other was already pretty much wiped out at 50%. But still did well with the other stuff like foil, plates, cups, napkins, and cake mixes. Had a lot of fun shopping. Also got a couple pair of Converse for 70% too. -

Not here either. I'll check again tomorrow morning. But our store was pretty much cleaned out already. There is still a lot of cake mixes and some of the other dessert stuff though, they didn't put a sign on that aisle. Thanks tinkrbel for your list, that will come in handy! -
Nice, thanks! And their prices are a tiny bit cheaper than what I just paid on Amazon, so this might be our new place to buy them.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2012
bluebear replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Hmmm That is odd. The only Kindles that were clearanced here were the 3G/wi-fi ones, the ones with the keyboard. Seems like there was another model that was still full price. I'll try to pay closer attention when I go back. -

I didn't see any safes today. I did however see some Kindles on Clearance, 15% I believe, $160.xx These were the wi-fi/3G flavor, with the keyboard. And a couple Kindles cases 50% off. -

When you click What's New, it defaults to the new Activity Stream. Then you can click New posts. Or, you can just Click New Posts (it's under What's New on the Blue Bar), and bypass the Activity Stream.

Need deal on 4 X 6 picture frames
bluebear replied to mywarmbluefleece's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
If you can't find different ones, maybe you could run over the splintery ones with a thin layer of spackle, then paint them. -
Depends on what you will need the extra space for. That's an external hard drive, about the same size as the iPad. Not super portable. With the tablets with SD slots, you can expand the memory or the device without lugging around extra stuff. For example. My son had a interview/video project to do. His Thrive has only 8GB. We stuck a SD card in there, and when that 8GB filled up during the interview, he started saving onto the SD card. Same thing when he went to Washington DC. We just made sure he had a big enough SD card, and he could take all the pictures and videos he wanted without anything extra. That wouldn't have worked with an external drive. He would have had to get the drive out and transfer everything over before he could start using his device again. (And it would have been an additional thing for him to keep up with, which is a challenge!) But, if you use your device mostly somewhere calm like at home, and you can have something else plugged into it, then this would be a good solution to storing pictures, videos, and music. Just depends on what you need it for! Like I mentioned earlier, we have both Android tablets and iPads. They each have their "things". Son wanted an iPad, until he got his Thrive, and now we've even offered to switch with him, and he wouldn't. Just depends on your needs and preferences.

Yes, I would check Target. I got mine there a few years ago, and am still using it. They have different designs there now. People are all the time asking if it's my purse... It's a good size, and I like that it has a pocket on the front.

I'm thinking of getting one for my son. His other Kindle died after only 14 months. Other son's Kindle also died shorlty after, but he has a Toshiba Thrive so no need to get him another tablet. He will probably get another normal Kindle for when he wants to e-ink. But for youngest son, this might be an option. His birthday is in 2 weeks, and I was hoping for a sale like this. I just hope they still have them available this afternoon so I can ask him first. I also just got a Galaxy Tab 2 when they came out. I'm not a very gadgety person, and I don't listen to music, watch movies, or read much. So I didn't really have a need for it. (gift from husband, who is gadgety) I really like having a tablet more than I thought I would, although so far pretty much the only thing I've done with it is play Draw Something, as that's the only thing my phone won't do. Hopefully I'll start being a fun person and start using it more.

DOES BESTBUY CHARGE a RESTOCKING FEE??
bluebear replied to allshoppedout's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I actually think they stopped that a while back. Here is a link to the online return policy, and nothing is mentioned about restocking fee. And I'm not sure they ever charged one on appliances. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Help-Topics/Returning-Online-Purchases/pcmcat260800050014.c?id=pcmcat260800050014 Okay, here we go. No restocking fees. http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-20026140-17.html
